PACTA™ is…

PACTA is a series of cabinets.

PACTA is dedicated to provide uncompromized safety, to save space and energy, and to easy handling from specification through installation to operation and service.

PACTA is for chromatography: UPLC HPLC GC.

PACTA is for stacking lab equipment to save space: CO2-incubators, vacuum ovens, other.

PACTA serves pharmaceutical, biomedical, clinical and university laboratories, industry and science, R&D and QC.

PACTA is for all LC-systems from all major chromatography manufacturers.

PACTA is as simple as possible, but not simpler. Safety is inparallel. Ergonomics are best in class. Simply! OHS is applied according to corporate OHS guidelines. Pull-outs provide easy access from sides and rear, at all times, with no heavy lifts. Working height is adjustable.

PACTA supports housekeeping. Compared to mobile bench solutions, PACTA is lighter, smaller, better ventilated, easier to keep clean and provides better sound abatement.

PACTA offers up to 50% savings in footprint and 60% in ventilation capacity per LC-system, great when expanding capacity in existing facilities. Installed cost is reduced, lifetime operational savings are achieved.

PACTA has a short time RoI. Last, but not least: it is stylish.

Space/FootprintSpace utilization is crucial. Space optimization is the biggest contributor to cost savings in lab facilities. Facilities equipped with PACTAs have room for up to 50% more systems than comparable solutions.

Energy/CO2 footprintEnergy focus is crucial. HVAC is the second biggest contributor to cost savings in lab facilities. Due to integrated and focused ventilation, PACTA reduces HVAC needs with up to 60% – at time of installation and 24/7/365 thereafter.

PACTA emits solvents in one exhaust, and system heat in another exhaust. The solvent exhaust is normally app. 20% of the total ventilation capacity.

Safety/OHSPersonal safety is paramount. Exposure to harmful substances, gasses and vapours, must be avoided. PACTA has local exhausts above bottles and above the waste bin. Air velocity matches requirements from fume cupboards.

Venting is split into two: ducts to remove heat from the LC-systems heat, and ducts for harmful gasses. In case not needed, ducts are merged. Low air flow generates alarm.

Ergonomics/MMHPACTA is safe and simple. During manual materials handling, occupational health injuries must be prevented. With PACTA, no heavy lifts are needed. No harmful liquids need handling above eye level. Pull-outs and adjustable height support create appropriate working positions.

Overview/HousekeepingPACTA is focus and simplicity. The LC-system is accessible at all times, and all functions are easy to overview.

PACTA provides sufficient and well-organized space for housekeeping. It is easy to clean and keep tidy.PA

Facility Considerations

PACTA Site Preparation Guide

The PACTA Site Preparation Guide shows how to use the PACTA in the lab. Few factors are to be considered:• Outer dimensions• Duct connection• Floor and/or wall mounting• Electrical connections• Load considerations

Rebuild/Retrofit

Space needs are reduced with up to 50%. Ventilation needs are reduced with 40-60% depending on the case. Pacta comes KD – Knock Down. Fast installation can be crucial in validated environments. PACTA is ideal for retrofit.

New build/Greenfield

Space needs are reduced with up to 50%. Ventilation needs are reduced with 40-60% depending on the case. PACTA allows for LC-systems along both walls in narrow rooms. PACTA may dramatically increase the space utilization. Storage space is provided at the same small footprint. PACTA is ideal for new build.

Open Labs

PACTA reduces the sound from system fans. Housekeeping is supported. PACTA fits standard laboratory dimensions and fits perfectly in open labs.

Core Labs Equipment Farms

PACTA is ideal for core labs, dense with a lot of equipment. PACTA is ideal in dedicated equipment farms, with condensed equipment and a need for efficient ventilation.

Facility Considerations | 13

1. PACTA-Fly for two LC-stacks. The Fly is used when the height of the LC-stack positions solvent bottles higher that the COHS-rules for maximum lifting height of the bottles. The bottles are put in a shared cabinet.

2. PACTA LC-70. HPLC with detector located on separate shelf for top HPLC access. Oven is hinged for HPLC side access.

3. PACTA-VC/GC for stacked equipment. Two ovens or CO2-incubators or alike are located on top of eachother. The lower is operated while the PACTA is raised. Utilities are supplied from the back; like gasses, destilled water, power.

Your PACTA

Your Daily Operations – OHSPACTA provides easy access, easy overview, space for tools and supports housekeeping initiatives. Focus is key.

When raised, the PACTA cabinet brings the pump and the auto sampler in the best position for preparation, check of needle flush and sealwash function, removal of old samples, check of waste. For control for untight connections.

When lowered, PACTA is in position for solvents check, for control for untight connections. For equilibration.

Your Corporate PACTA ProgrammeIn order to obtain homogene inparallel solutions throughout your organisation, your Corporate Health and Safety Organiszation can define corporate set of EHS-criteria to be met, like: allowed lifting height for 5-litres bottles, same for 3-litres bottles, same for 1-litres bottles; required air changes in drawers for capped and non-capped solvents, and recommended work bench height for different users.

When a corporate standard is built, PACTA’s are configured accordingly.

Service. Maintenance.OHS PACTA allows most service functions and maintenance functions to be executed without disconnecting any utility.

This is why PACTA offers maximum up-time for your LC-systems.

Pull-outs are used to give side access, top access and rear access to the stacked LC-units.

When the HPLC-oven is located at a side, PACTA places the oven in a hinged bracket, and the oven can then be turned aside to provide access to the revealed “innerside unit”.

Stainless steel drip trays are standard.

Ethernet and power connections are available on the front of the Fly for easy maintenance.

PACTA does not need regular service. Annually air change ratio checks are recommended.

1. HPLC. Pull-out for side access, and - hidden in view - to swing the oven right for access to the hidden right side of the HPLC.

2. Regular service does not need any pull-out of the cabinet/rack. Solvents are in drawers.

3. PACTA VC/GC saves space and allows access from front sides and rear for operation and service.
