Boosterthon Success! A big THANK YOU to all that participated in the Boosterthon Fun Run Fundraiser. Not only did we get our students up and exercising but we were also able to impact them with character education. We raised a total of $28,465.51 for our school! We have already purchased 20 Elmos (which are document projectors that are used in various ways during classroom instruction… previously teachers had to share these at each grade level). We also purchased a defibrillator. With the remaining funds we will be purchasing some new

playground equipment. The addition of the ELMO will result in your student learning more efficiently and effectively. In addition teachers received 10% of their classrooms pledges to purchase learning materials for their classrooms and enhancement teachers received an allotment to help purchase materials for their classes too. Thank you again for all your participation!

Staff Appreciation Thanks a ton to all who volunteered and made such wonderful soups & side dishes for the Staff Appreciation Souper Luncheon! Many of the teachers have said this is their very favorite event and this year was another success! There were many varieties and all were enjoyed!

Our next event is not until the week of May 9th – the end of the year Staff Appreciation Week. We will pep up the staff with flowers, popcorn & treats each day that week.

We are also hoping to print another CCE cookbook! We are researching to find a website/ page/social network site that we can set up to allow our incredible chefs post their recipe’s.

Student Recognition We had our 2nd Quarter Honor Roll breakfast on Friday, February 18th. Box Top Collection Update The numbers are in and we had a very successful collection! Thank you to all of the volunteers that came in to help with counting, we really appreciate all your hard work and time! Our estimated earnings for this month are $900 in Box Top Collections. That is amazing!!! Our class winners get a have a popcorn party at school, the winners are as follows: Kindergarten – Mrs. Arnett, 1st grade – Mrs. Pfahler, 2nd grade – Mrs. Yow, 3rd grade – Mrs. Layne, 4th grade – Mrs. Connelly, 5th grade – Mrs. Yarborough and 6th grade – Mrs. Aquaviva. Please note the Coke Rewards program ends June 1, so April will be our last collection of the Coke Rewards caps. Congratulations again to all of our class winners and thank you to all of the families that support our school by taking the time to collect all the labels, strips and box tops!

Mother/Best Gal and Son Event! On April 17th, all Moms/Best Gals and Sons are invited to a fun Pizza Cruise on Lake Norman! Enjoy the beauty of Lake Norman on your 1 1/2 hour cruise, plus: An all you can eat pizza and baked spaghetti buffet; includes soda, water, coffee, tea! Music, games and entertainment will be provided! A photographer will be available for an additional $15.00 payable day of event. Two Pizza cruises are being offered on the Lady of the Lake out of Queens Landing. The times are 2:00– 3:30 and 5:30 – 7:00. Since each cruise is limited to 125 individuals, reservations will be taken on a first come, first serve basis. Cost of the event will be $25 for per couple and $10 for each additonal son/student! Watch for the flyer to come home soon!
