PAWA NEWS
NOTE FROM THE EXECUTIVE COMMITTEE
Dear Members and Friends
The tickets are on sale at the moment for Independence Day celebrations and there has been a surge in request
since Saturday the 26th
July. The hall has limited capacity so please get the tickets as soon as possible to avoid
disappointment. The program has been almost finalised with a live band performing and a delicious meal and lots
and lots of prizes. A flyer is attached with the newsletter with contact details. May we please request you to make at
least two copies of the newsletter and flyer and display them at a prominent place in your workplace or the
institution where you study.
Another event that is happening is the conference and postgraduate symposium on Militancy and Pakistan which
will attract delegates from all over world including Pakistan. The brochures with further details are included in the
mail. The Women Sub Committee of Ethnic Communities Council will be meeting on 31st
July to discuss the
recommendations from Multicultural Mental Health Consultation. Finally a note of thanks to Tahir Bhatti for his
continued online support to maintain PAWA web page and to Indevent Entertainments for giving two complimentary
tickets to the Executive Committee to attend ‘Bollywood Bhangra Blast concert’
