Australian Federation of
Pakistan Organisations. By the grace of Allah the Federation

Newsletter:Discrimination Matters May 2010A Muslim complainant
attended a recreation park along with a large group, also of the
Muslim
faith. The complainant said staff at the park had rudely and
disrespectfully excluded the group
from parts of the facility because their clothing had breached
safety regulations. This caused
others at the park to make racially and religiously offensive
remarks. Park staff apologised, paid
$16,000 as well as free admission to the facility and agreed to
review its assessment of
appropriate clothing. It also arranged a special welcome by
managers to restore the relationshipbetween the group and the parks
staff

The Ethnic Communities Council of Western Australia would like
to invite
To our Free Book Fair on Saturday 12 June 2010, 3.00 to 5.00 pm,
at 20 View St North Perth.
New and second hand books will be available free to ECCWA member
organisations. These
include childrens story books, books for children and teens on
history, geography, science,society and religion. Young adult
novels and fiction for adults will also be available.
