I think its marvelous. It is something I never thought I would
get to see in mylife. We have been planning this pilgrimage for a
year, and it just happened to benow. Whoever the next pope is, I
feel he will be the right one. Of course anAmerican would be
awesome!

abuse crisis I just pray he has the spirit of Christ in his heart.
That is what matters.

We were studying in London. We planned this trip weeks ago, and
it just turnedthat there was the conclave. I would not be surprised
if we have the first Africanpope. An American pope would be cool,
but I think it is more likely to be anAfrican or South
American.
The sex abuse scandal is going to be dealt with one way or

if it will changeback. I miss the words of the mass before the new

work that one of the main candidates is Phillipino, so I came after

The problem facing the next pope has already been pointed out by
Benedict. Thecrisis of the world is a crisis of faith. Unless our
pastors and leaders move us to agreater participation in the
sacraments there will be crisis.
A lot of people are looking for a holy pope, but what I think
the pope needs to bea communicator, who can move our leaders and
pastors.
I was at first appalled by the idea of an American pope, in the
sense that I did not think that people from other cultures could
support the American way of doingthings. But many of my fellow
brothers and sisters have said they are alreadyturning to American
cardinals for guidance.
A herald I hope the next pope will be a voice a herald.

It is a historical moment. It is very exciting. The anticipation
is building.
The next pope is going to have to face the crisis that has hit
the church in the last few years, the role of women in the church,
and faith, basically bringing theyoung people into the church.
Benedict did some of that. He was on Twitter andthe social
media.
People think Oullet is not charismatic enough. He can speak many
languages, but they say he is not charismatic.
If there was a Canadian pope, the might finally start talking
about Canada insteadof the US. It would be wonderful. It might help
with national unity betweenQuebec and the rest of Canada.
