It will take several days to choose. I think it will be OMalley from Boston. He

gives the impression of a simple person and he fought against abuse

(paedophilia).

I hope that for the first time there will be an African pope. I think it will bring

peace. Thats all.

I think they should have the right to resign. I am not a Christian. I dont know

what to think about the conclave.

I think its amazing. Pope Benedict went through a tough time. We are going

through a tough time. I hope for a strengthening of the church. I trust the

cardinals make a good choice. Theres a lot of persecution. It will be a big issue

facing the next pope.

If not this week, then next week. This last century, the choice of a pope has taken

no more than a week or so.

Its a one chance in a lifetime experience. Its a huge part of our faith. The newmission of the church is revealed. John Paul II was for the evangelization of the

youth. Benedict was for the evangelization of families, the new evangelization,

which is about reconversion to the faith, getting exciting about the faith and

being reconfirmed in the faith.

I dont think an American pope is likely. OMalleys name has been mentioned,

but I dont think its very likely.

My classes at the University of Mary have been moved to a church nearby so we

can participate. I plan to go to adoration and pray. Hopefully, Ill be in the piazza

when the new pope comes out. We all plan on coming out to see the smoke.

Hopefully there will be a new pope by Holy Week. So we can go to Mass with the

new popeand the stations of the cross on Good Friday.

(How big of an issue will liturgy be?)

Well, its very important. The liturgy is where we meet the Lord.

Its not important to me.Theres no work in Italy. I have degrees, a masters, etc,but I cant find work.

Im Catholic. Not really a good practicing one. I know there are three main

candidates. Not really sure what to think about it. Itd be good to have a pope

from Africa though.

I didnt know a pope could step down. I thought you were pope till the end. But, I

guess if he cant do his duties.

(what are the important issues? People talk about paedophilia, etc.)

Its not just with Catholics, its a problem in other groups as well, but I think

priests should be able to marry.

(Whats the best thing that could come from the conclave)

Modernization, I guess.
