Tools – MoKi: The modelling wiki (http://moki.fbk.eu): MoKi is a tool that supports the the cre-ation of articulated enterprise models through structured wiki pages. Moki enables heteroge-neous teams of experts, with different knowledge engineering skills, to actively collaborate byinserting knowledge; transforming knowledge; and revising knowledge at different degreesof formality.

– KnowledgeStore (http://knowledgestore.fbk.eu): Despite the widespread diffusion ofstructured data sources and the public acclaim of the Linked Open Data initiative, a prepon-derant amount of information remains nowadays available only in unstructured form, bothon the Web and within organizations. While different in form, structured and unstructuredcontents speak about the very same entities of the world, their properties and relations; still, frameworks for their seamless integration are lacking. The KnowledgeStore is a scalable,fault-tolerant, and Semantic Web grounded storage system to jointly store, manage, retrieve, and semantically query, both structured and unstructured data.

– RDFPRO (http://rdfpro.fbk.eu): RDFPRO (RDF Processor) is a public domain, Java com-mand line tool and library for RDF processing. RDFPRO offers a suite of stream-oriented,highly optimized RDF processors for common tasks that can be assembled in complexpipelines to efficiently process RDF data in one or more passes. RDFPRO originated fromthe need of a tool supporting typical Linked Data integration tasks, involving dataset sizes upto few billions triples.

– PIKES (http://pikes.fbk.eu/): PIKES is a Knowledge Extraction framework adopting a2-phase approach. First (phase 1: linguistic feature extraction), an RDF graph of mentionsis built by distilling the output of several state-of-the-art NLP tools for tokenization, part-of-speech tagging, lemmatization, named entity recognition and classification, temporal expres-sion recognition and normalization, parsing, coreference resolution, word sense disambigua-tion, entity linking, and semantic role labelling. Then (phase 2: knowledge distillation), themention graph is processed to distill, using SPARQL-like mapping rules, a knowledge graphrepresenting the content conveyed by the text.

– KE4IR (http://pikes.fbk.eu/ke4ir.html): Document retrieval is the task of returning rel-evant textual resources for a given user query. KE4IR is an approach that improves the per-formances of the traditional term-based similarity solution by performing a semantic analysisof the query and the documents, obtained exploiting a state-of-the-art Knowledge Extractiontool (PIKES) and Semantic Web resources (e.g., YAGO, DBpedia).

– TEX-OWL (https://github.com/dkmfbk/TexOwl): TEX-OWL is a new syntax that can beused to write OWL 2 ontologies. It was developed to address the need for an easy-to-read and easy-to-write plain text syntax. TEX-OWL is inspired by LATEX syntax, and coversall construct of OWL 2. We designed TEX-OWL to be less verbose than the other OWLsyntaxes, and easy-to-use especially for quickly developing small-size ontologies with just atext editor. An OWLAPI-based Java parser and writer is available to easily convert TEX-OWLto/from other OWL2 syntaxes.

Ontologies – The BPMN Ontology (http://dkm-static.fbk.eu/people/rospocher/backup-resources/bpmn/): The BPMN Ontology is a formalization in OWL-DL of thestructural components of the Business Process Modelling Notation (BPMN), based on thelatest stable BPMN specifications from OMG [BPMN Version 1.1 - January 2008]. Thedevelopment of the ontology was guided by the description of the complete set of BPMNElement Attributes and Types contained in Annex B of the BPMN specifications.

– The PESCaDO Ontology (https://dkm-static.fbk.eu/people/rospocher/backup-resources/pescado/): The PESCaDO Ontology is a modular ontology capa-ble of representing all the content processed and produced by an environmental decisionsupport to provide user-tailored environmental decision support. It covers environmentalinformation such as meteorological conditions and phenomena, air quality, and pollen, aswell as other relevant environment-related information essential for a targeted user-tailoredservice: travel and traffic information, human diseases, geographical data, monitoringstation details, user profile details, etc. In addition, the KB is also capable of formallyrepresenting the description of the user’s inquiry to the decision support system, and thepossible conclusions (warnings, recommendations, etc) that the system may produce fora given inquiry. The ontology is codified in the standard semantic web ontology languageOWL.

– The Event and Situation Ontology (ESO) (https://github.com/newsreader/eso): TheEvent and Situation Ontology (ESO) is a resource which formalizes the pre and post condi-tions of events and the roles of the entities affected by an event. The ontology reuses andmaps across existing resources such as Wordnet, SUMO and Framenet and is designed forextracting information from text that otherwise would have been implicit.

– PreMOn - Predicate Model for Ontologies (https://premon.fbk.eu/): PreMOn (PredicateModel for Ontologies) is a linguistic Linked Data resource representing predicate modelssuch as PropBank, NomBank, VerbNet and FrameNet. PreMOn consists of an OWL on-tology for modelling predicates with their arguments, selectional constraints, relations andalignments, based on lemon (Lexicon Model for Ontologies); and of a set of RDF datasetsfor the main predicate models described using this ontology.
