OPIS
Implementation of polyurethane foam application on the ceiling and attic of a residential building.
System: Poliuretan® Spray S-OC-006
Place of application: Greater Poland
Implementation time: 2 days, June 2019.
In June 2019, the company POWERLUK from Osiek performed insulation with open-celled foam in the single-family
home. The property was fully prepared to install the application: all works were completed in the previous year, and
the tile had relative humidity with the manufacturer's recommendations. The building uses the best insulation
materials (windows, doors, polystyrene) and additionally a supply and exhaust recuperation system.
The investor ordered the insulation of the ceiling from the bottom and the utility attic with material that will insulate
the heat and suppress the noise in the same time. The POWERLUK proposed material from Synthesia Technology
Poliuretan Spray S-OC-006 with an average density of 7 ± 1 kg / m3. The insulating material complies
with EN 14315-1, and has a sound absorption factor of 0.5, and an aging lambda of 0.038 (W / mK). The results of the
laboratory lambda’s tests which were made immediately after spraying - show a value of 0.03585 (W / mK), what
means that the foam does not change the insulating properties for long time.

According with the arrangements with the investor, the entire area of 310 m2 was covered with foam with thickness
of 20 cm.
„ During one of the works in the past years we had an unpleasant situation. Wanting to accommodate
investor, we approached his request to apply foam up to 20 cm. It was important to him, because
the hooks (esy) were prepared for the GK grate, and he did not want to cut in the foam to mount
the profiles.
Unfortunately, we met the complications during the reception the project by the construction manager. We were reminded that there is 18 cm in one place and 19 cm in the other. Although the average thickness was 20 cm they didn’t want to agree with us, the reference to EN14315-2 also did not help. We had to add another layer - an additional work day and more material consumption. In this case, the surface was easily accessible: a flat teriva ceiling, and a gable roof with a bay window (full boarding). During this implementation the company POWERLUK broke an absolute performance record, achieving 278 m2 from one set!
„During difficult aplication, when a man stands on one leg on the scaffolding, everyone only looks
to make fulfill the space by foam. In this case, we had a very grateful surface. As always, we counted
the meters of sprayed foam - in this way we check the actual performance of the set and the efficiency
of the dispensing device. Nobody expected it will be almost 280 m2! This is the biggest efficiency we
have ever applied.”
The average air temperature during the implementation period was 20 ° C.
