Swashrama Dharma Eva Jayathe 24th Activities Report 2019-20 1

MESSAGE

The ray of hope for un-employed youth, which had originated from Siddavana, Ujire at Dharmasthala, the abode of Lord Sri Manjunatha in Karnataka, under the able leadership of great visionary Parampoojya Dr D.Veerendra Heggadeji in the form of RUDSETI in the year 1982, partnering Syndicate Bank and Canara Bank, had replicated manifold, under the guidance of Ministry of rural development, spreading its wings PAN INDIA and touching the magical figure of training 35 lakhs un-employed youths through 585 RSETIs, have now become the leading torch for un-employed youths in 566 Districts. The marvellous effort put forth by dedicated staff of RSETIS supported by 28 banks in 27 states and 6 UTs was at its peak when NACER, an Apex Institute for mentoring and monitoring of RSETIs was honoured by ASSOCHAM Summit Gold Trophy Award for the year 2019-20.

This award is dedicated to the team of all RSETIs, Officials of MoRD, Sponsor Banks and the State Level officials for their support, without which winning of this covetous award for NACER would not have been possible. Also it is worth mentioning that our trainees from Coimbatore and Nasik had won prestigious National Entrepreneurship award for the year 2019-20, which is a feather in the cap of RSETI movement.

These laurels has brought RSETIs to limelight and many departments and Ministries have expressed their willingness to sponsor candidates to be trained in RSETI because of better quality of Training in the realms of Knowledge, skills and attitude of the Trainees and the handholding support extended after training.

It is a matter of pride that the settlement of Trained candidates is 73% for the current year, which is an all time record and the credit linkage of settled candidate for RSETIs is 50% which is the USP only for RSETIs.

I am thankful to Syndicate Bank for giving an opportunity to work as National Director for RSETIs on deputation for 2 years and I was also benefitted from the rich experience gained in the vistas of Rural Development from great visionary like Poojya Dr Veerendra Heggadeji, Sri Rajesh Bhushan, Secretary MoRD, Sri Charanjeet Singh, Joint Secretary, Sri Veerendra Sharma, Director and from my colleagues in NACER, NAR, RSETI Team, Officials from Sponsor Banks and State Officials. I also thank all my Well Wishers for the wonderful support extended during my tenure as National Director for RSETIs. Let us hope with the synergy of dedicated Team, the flag of RSETIs will flutter at higher levels in the years to come.

Wishing the TEAM of RSETIs all Success in their future endeavours.

With best wishes,

(SANTOSH P) National Director

Swashrama Dharma Eva Jayathe 24th Activities Report 2019-20 4

A BRIEF REPORT ON THE INSTITUTE

Unemployment and poverty are two faces of the same coin. Self-employment is the key for eradicating poverty and un-employment in the society. The available statistics indicate increase in un-employment every year since lakhs of graduates are coming out of colleges. The mind set in this youth is directed towards s elf-employment rather than wage employment.

Most of the educated unemployed and under employed youth are concentrated in rural area and are forced to take up self-employment by utilizing local available resources. The promotion of micro enterprises with low investment is imminent to generate more employment opportunities in both rural and urban area to improve economic status of the people. Bangalore Urban, Bangalore Rural, Ramanagar and Tumkur Districts are blessed with various resources and infrastructures having proximity with the commercial and industrial cities and provides strategic transport link to various part of the state. These facilities can be best utilized by optimum involvement of human resources there by sustainable development and improvement of economic states of peoples could be possible.

RUDSET Institute, Arashinakunte is striving to bring light in to the dark minds of un-employed youth of Bangalore Urban, Bangalore Rural, Ramanagar and Tumkur Districts. The Institute took birth in the year 1996 at Nelamangala, to benefit accessibility and convenience of un-employed youth and it was shifted to Arashinakunte to its own building as results of generous contribution of funds from Zilla Panchayath, Bangalore Rural, due to efforts of Sri. P.B. Ramamurthy, IAS, Deputy Commissioner, the then Deputy Commissioner during 1996 and also his successors and Sri. K.V. Beliraya, Chief Executive Officer, ZP, Bangalore Rural and his successors enabled the Institute in getting funds at a stretch of very short duration. With the grant assistance of Ministry of Rural Development, Government of India, the Institute has new building including dormitory, class rooms, workshops, dining hall and office rooms. The building was inaugurated on 19.01.2011.

Since our service area is blessed with plentiful resources mainly IT Industries, Garments Factories, Agricultural Developments, this year we have focused on IT trainings and Agriculture oriented trainings viz., Commercial Floriculture, Dairying & Vermi Composting and Poultry. Non farm sector income generating activities for the rural youths to set up home and trainee industries which can be established with a minimum investment of Rs. 25000/- to Rs. 20, 00,000/-.

We have conducted 689 programmes covering 21061 candidates since inception of which SCs- 5138, STs – 1372, OBCs –11601, Minorities – 913 and others – 2037 out of which 11641 are women beneficiaries which is a notable factor in the year of international women’s day. We record with proud the cumulative settlement of our institute stands at 68%.

By considering the concern for social work the ministry of Rural Development and Panchayatha Raj, Government of Karnataka has sanctioned APPAREL training unit by providing funds of Rs. 15.50 lakhs. The unit was inaugurated on 29.05.2008 and we have trained 17 batches of 452 candidates.

Follow Up

Post training support to trainees is the most distinguished feature of RUDSETI function. Short term training and long term settlement is the call of our president. The Institute gave maximum importance to this function and follow-ups are made through regular correspondence, individual contact, meetings etc. With follow up and counseling, the Institute has played the role of a friend, philosopher and guide to its trainees. This system is a valuable feedback to assess the impact of training and fine tune of future programs.

We along with the batch of TMTFL visited the RUDSETI, Arashinakunte, Nelamangala, Bangalore Rural. I found greenery in the Institute having complex area viz spread of 18000 sq ft. Presently 3 courses Beauty Parlor, Computer Hardware & software and Mushroom growing training programme are running. It is residential and trainees have to put their time right from 4 AM to 10 PM, Yoga classes and cleaning, taking training both theoretical and practical are being undertaken. So, far the Institute have yearly trained 20000 trainees and about 14000 of them are self employed. That is 70% absorption including gainful employment.

The Director, Faculty members as well as trainees are well behaved and accommodation, food quality is also superb.

Sri. Balendra Prasad, LDM, SBI, Udaipur

Had a chance to interact with LMV 4 wheeler participants and EDP programme participants spoke about linkage with banks. Was impressed with the dedications classes are being conducted. The food served was tasty and good. Best wishes to the Director Sri. M.M. Veerendra Kumar and his team.

Success Stories

Mrs. Hemashree is the second daughter of

Sri Mallikarjuna and Renuka couple. Mr. Mallikarjuna

is the driver of a private bus. The salary he receives is

enough to maintain the livelihood expenses. But, he

was not able to provide good education to his

daughters, which lead Mrs Hemashri not to continue

her studies after PUC.

So, after complet ion of PUC educat ion,

Mrs Hemashree got married with Sri Ambarish at her

early age. After marriage with Sri Ambarish,

Sri Hemashree started getting frustration due to

some family's disputes. So with a small kid she came

back to her home.

Sitting idle makes everyone to worry mentally.

Likewise, Mrs Hemashri was also experiencing herself

irritation. So, she thought to do something instead of

sitting idle in the family. Hence, through an article she

came to know about RUDSETI training and she came

for 13 days REDP training during August 2019 and she

learnt about Entrepreneurial aspects and gained

herself confidence to establish self employment

venture.

With the gained knowledge and confidence

Mrs Hemashri approached Canara Bank, Vijayapura

for financial assistance. Looking to the confidence of

Mrs Hemashri, Canara Bank, Vijayapura sanctioned

an amount of Rs. 1.00 lac loan. In total by investing

Rs. 5.00 lacs, Smt Hemashri started “Gahan

Readymade Garments” during First week of October

2019.

Today, Mrs Hemashri makes a turnover of Rs. 1.50 lac

per month and her net profit comes to Rs. 30,000/-.

She is very happy today and owes her success to

RUDSETI training.
