FRAGMENT
When you watch the scenery from the bridge, The sightseer watchers you from the balcony. The bright moon adorns your window, While you adorn another’s dream.
by Bian Zhilin, translate by Yang Xianyi and Dai Naidie
Frame the scenes
A person is attracted by something, which itself isan attractive scene. My thought is followed by their views, the steam, the cruise and the willow in breeze. What are they thinking ? are they happy ? Whom are they missing ? What kind of lives they have ? etc.
Thoes moments when we are watching some one while they are looking something else are dramatic. They are the lead in my scene while I am a lead in someone else’s.
And sometimes we are others’ “someone”.
It can be a journey when life is a timeline. Each moment of life is one piece of it.And it also connect with others, my friends, my family, my colleagues, even strangers from buses and streets. All those are the balance of lives.
Frame the moment / While they are my lead.

La maison en petits cubes

But when heaccidentally drops his favorite smoking pipe into the lower submerged levels of his home, for searching it, he come to each floor and see theold furniture which makes him relive svenes from his happy life. (his time before the flooding began).
Furniture likes a story teller, which frame the vivid moment when his family were together. All the scenes we see is those memories.

The Chinese artist and activist Ai Weiwei had an exhibition on Alcatraz. Amongst a large bodyof work created specifically for Alcatraz is “Blossom”, which has been installed in several hospital ward cells and medical offices. And as its name suggests, intricately detailed encrustations of ceramic flowers are blossoming out of sinks, toilets and tubs that were once used by hospitalized prisoners.
“Bloom” SITE-SPECIFIC INSTALLATION BY ANNA SCHULEIT
Created to address the persistent absence of flowers in psychiatric hispital sttings, BLOOM consisted of 28000 potted, blooming flowers, selected and sorted by color, and placed throughout four floors of the historic building. The basement hallwayswere carpeted in live sod, for viewers to walk on. The old public announcement system was used to play recorded sounds of the building from the days leading upto its closing.
