• Italy is a country with rich history. It has been the home of many European cultures, such as the Etruscans and the Romans. The movement of the Renaissance, has began in Tuscany and spread all over Europe.

• Today Italy is an attractive destination for every tourist. More than 40 million tourists visit the country every year mainly for its art, cuisine, history, fashion and culture.

• Italy has a long sporting tradition. In international level Italians have been extremely successful in various sports such as football and basketball.

• Italy is a European country which is located in the middle of the Mediterranean sea.

• The whole country has over 60 million inhabitants, 4million of them live in Rome, which is the capital of Italy.

• The city has been recognized as one of the world's four fashion capitals thanks to Milan Fashion Week.

• The city is also famous because it is home of one of Europe's most successful football teams, A.C. Milan.

NAPLES Naples is a city in southern Italy. The city is called Napoli in Italian, and Napule in Neapolitan. The name comes from Ancient Greek Νεάπολις, meaning "new city", via the Latin Neapolis.

Napoli's name is synonymous to authentic pizza and delicious food. It also has great chefs awarded with Michelin stars.

BARI

VENICE

• Venice is a city in northeastern Italy. It is situated on a group of 118 small islands that are separated by canals and linked by over 400 bridges. The islands are located in the Venetian Lagoon, an enclosed bay that lies between the mouths of the Po and the Piave rivers.

• Everywhere in Venice there are Gondolas only for touristic purposes. A tourist can take a gondola with one or two gondoliers as drivers and make a tour around the narrow canals which lead to the Grand Canal.
