Himiesa, es una empresa innovadora en la elaboración de hilados y fantasías que presenta cada seis meses una nueva colección, con las tendencias de moda más actuales que marcan las necesidades del mercado. La actividad industrial en general tiene una alta incidencia en la contaminación atmosférica, hídrica, de suelos y acústica. La industria textil no está al margen de esta contaminación, pues su actividad genera un importante impacto ambiental, y es en los procesos de acabado donde este impacto es más acusado, por el empleo de productos químicos tóxicos y, grandes consumos de agua y energía. Con el objetivo de funcionalizar sus hilados mediante procesos más sostenibles HIMIESA ha invertido esfuerzos de forma continuada tanto en I+D (PROYECTO ECO-DENTEX, como más relevante), como en tecnología de maquinaria de alto rendimiento e investigación y aplicación de mejoras en sus procesos orientadas a la eficiencia energética y autoabastecimiento energético mediante energías renovables.

• A Photovoltaic Plant of 1,3 MW is installed in 2011 taking advantage of the cover. By means of this plant 1,85 GWh/year of electricity is generated, which supposes 26,7 % of the total electrical consumption.

• Hilaturas Miel requires from the electricity Companies that 100 % of the electrical consumption comes from renewable energies.

• From 2013 on, a Boiler of Biomass is installed in order to eliminate the Diesel oil, and then the CO2 emissions are eliminated into the atmosphere by consumption of fuels.
