Weaving: The process of creating fabrics usingintersecting warp and fill yarns. Fabrics are woven usingmanydifferentwavepatternsincludingplain,basket,leno,satin, crowfoot, twill, unidirectional, high modulus andseveralothers.Differentweavingpatternsgivethefabricsthespecificpropertiesneededfordifferingapplications.

Finishing: Theprocessofputtingacoatingonthefab-ric after weaving. Once finished, the fabrics yield betterphysicalpropertiesinwetstrengthretentionoradhesionwithlaminates.

Lewco Sil Mat insulation is manufactured using 98% pure textilegrade silica fiber needled together into blanket/felt form. LewcoSil Mat base fiber is made through a hot extrusion processyielding 6-11micron, non-respirable fiber. This fiber is thenprocessed to maximize thermal efficiency. Lewco Sil Mat isINCOMBUSTIBLE, ASBESTOS FREE, NON-RESPIRABLE, andcontains no ORGANIC, or RESINOUS BINDERS. Typicalapplications include engine exhaust system insulation, hotindustrial equipment insulation, and many others. Maximumtemperature - 1800°F

Lewco can combinethese two different felts into various thickness combinations to meet customerrequirements. These insulation felt composites are strong enough to give long life intough, difficult applications.
