ERIN SMITH: RAMONA
I wanted to showcase a winery run by women, so my Somm Pick is a deliciously
refreshing, effervescent 8oz can (!!!) of grapefruit, Zibbibo, and ingenuity. Zibbibo
is an aromatic Sicilian grape that also goes by the name Muscat of Alexandria.
SuperSomm Jordan Salcito blended it with citrusy flavors to create the most
badass wine cooler ever. Ramona is most definitely going to be THE summer
beverage of 2017 so get in line ahead of the millennials and be proud of your
cool factor. To paraphrase Queen Bey, this wine runs the world! 10

DANNY STEINER: FOXEN WINERY, Pinot Noir, Sta Maria Valley, California, 2014 I moved down to Houston from Columbus, Ohio to work here at Camerata (and
escape the cold weather!) So far, I’m loving this city! Last summer, I took a trip
to Santa Barbara and was impressed by the diversity of the wines produced by
Bill Wathen, Foxen's winemaker and viticulturist. To me, Santa Barbara is one of
the most beautiful and under-appreciated parts of California. This Pinot Noir
comes from three different vineyards in Santa Maria Valley and demonstrates
how great the Central Coast is! 75

SEAN MCNEELY: CACIQUE MARAVILLA, Pipeño Pais, Valle del Bio-Bio, 2015 Before working at Camerata, I spent about a year working for wineries down in
Chile and Argentina. It was while working with Manuel Humberto Moraga
Gutiérrez of Cacique Maravilla that I fell in love with South American
winemaking. His pipeño país pulses with the antique rhythms of rural Chile.
Manuel has heroically persisted in growing and making wine from ancient
vines. This is natural wine: meant to be drunk early and often. It's Beaujolais
with a view of the Pacific! (1 Liter) 44

MONICA TOWNSEND: SOUTHERN BELLE, Syrah/Monastrell, Murcia, Spain, 2015 Some things you may not know about me... 1.) I’m Spanish born and Houston raised.
2.) I’ve got a soft spot for bourbon, whisky, and whiskey. 3.) Gone with the Wind is
one of my favorite movies. All of this explains my choice: the aptly
named Southern Belle. This seductive wine is a blend of Syrah and Monastrell
from Southeastern Spanish vineyards aged in Pappy Van Winkle barrels, which
previously held 20-year-old bourbon. Full-bodied and sweetly spiced, this
belle will sweep you away with her velvety charm! 39

TONY STEIN: PRIORAT NATUR My love for cocktails & exotic flavors is why I chose this sweet vermouth produced by the cooperative Falset Marça in Priorat, Spain. A blend
of White Garnacha, Macabeo & Pedro Ximenez, the grapes are fermented on their skins,
aromatized with fennel, rosemary, cumin, & vanilla, then aged in a solera. With an
herbaceous & citrusy flavor, this orange-tinged vermouth is marvelous as an aperitif,
with a cheese plate or even chocolate! 9/gl (rocks or with a splash of soda)
