Surah Al-Baqarah

Indeed, those who disbelieve - it is all the same for them

whether you warn them or do not warn them - they will not

believe.

•  What is Kufr?

•  Literal meaning: o  To Deny

o  To cover/conceal

•  In Islamic terminology: o  When truth is presented to them,they stubbornly reject it

although they know in their hearts that it is true(they cover up)

Surah AL BAQARA

KUFR VS. IMAN AND SHUKR

•  To disbelieve in pillars of Emaan i,e Allah,Angels,Prophets,Books,Last Day.

Kufr versus Emaan:

•  To deny favours of Allah,not appreciating His blessings and being ungrateful.

Kufr versus Shukr(gratefulness):

Surah Al-Baqarah

Allah has set a seal upon their hearts and upon their hearing,

and over their vision is a veil. And for them is a great

punishment.

DISBELIEVERS ARE DEAD OR LIKE ANIMALS

•  And not equal are the living and the dead. Indeed, Allah

causes to hear whom He wills, but you cannot make hear

those in the graves. [35:22]

Surah AL BAQARA

•  But those who disbelieve enjoy themselves and eat as

grazing livestock eat, and the Fire will be a residence for

them. [47:12]

Surah Al-Baqarah

DISBELIEVERS ARE DEAD OR LIKE ANIMALS

WILL BE RAISED BLIND,DUMB AND DEAF

•  And We will gather them on the Day of Resurrection [fallen]

on their faces - blind, dumb and deaf. Their refuge is Hell;

every time it subsides We increase them in blazing fire.[17:97]

RECOMPENSE OF DISBELIEF

•  That is their recompense because they disbelieved in Our

verses and said, "When we are bones and crumbled particles,

will we [truly] be resurrected [in] a new creation?" [17:98]

And of the people are some who say, "We believe in Allah and

the Last Day," but they are not believers.

They [think to] deceive Allah and those who believe, but they

deceive not except themselves and perceive [it] not.

In their hearts is disease, so Allah has increased their

disease; and for them is a painful punishment because they

[habitually] used to lie.

And when it is said to them, "Do not cause corruption on the

earth," they say, "We are but reformers."

Unquestionably, it is they who are the corrupters, but they

perceive [it] not.

And when it is said to them, "Believe as the people have believed," they say, "Should we believe as the foolish have believed?" Unquestionably, it

is they who are the foolish, but they know [it] not.

And when they meet those who believe, they say, "We

believe"; but when they are alone with their evil ones, they

say, "Indeed, we are with you; we were only mockers."

Surah Al-Baqarah

6\<%رے h6%3 #(= اور ان *7:7ں LA _VA "3اÄ +0 ر#" #(=

[But] Allah mocks them and prolongs them in their

transgression [while] they wander blindly.

Those are the ones who have purchased error [in exchange]

for guidance, so their transaction has brought no profit, nor

were they guided.

HYPOCRITES…..THIRD CATEGORY

•  They say with their tongues which is not in their hearts •  They try to deceive Allah and the believers •  They are deceiving themselves but they understand not •  In their heart is a disease and Allah has increased their

disease •  They lie and for them is painful torment in the hereafter

WHAT IS THIS DISEASE?

•  Doubts

•  Hypocrisy (two faced attitude)

•  Love of this world (desire to hold on to this world)

•  They do not believe but pretend to be the believers.

Actually they are neither with believers nor disbelievers

but where their worldly interests lie.

TELLING LIES

•  Allah The Exalted says: Truly, Allah guides not him who is a liar, and disbeliever.(Al Zumar:3)

•  Abdullah (RA)narrated: The Prophet saw said, "Indeed Truthfulness leads to Al Birr (Righteousness) and Al-Birr leads to Paradise. A man keeps on telling the truth until he becomes a siddiq (truthful person). Lying leads to AL-Fujur (wickedness) and AL-Fujur leads to the (Hell) fire, and a man keeps on telling lies till he is written as a liar before Allah.“(Bukhari)

TELLING LIES Abu Hurairah (RA) narrated: The Prophet saw said, "The signs of a hypocrite are three, whenever he speaks he tells a lie, whenever he promises he breaks it, and whenever he is entrusted he betrays.“(Bukhari) Abu Hurairah (RA) narrated : The Prophet saw said. "It is sufficient for a believer to be considered a liar that he narrates everything he hears.“(Muslim)

LIE IS A MEANS OF DOUBT Abu Hawraa Al-Saadiy narrated: I said to Hasan bin Ali (RA)What do you remember from The Messenger (SAW) ? He said, " I remember from Allah's Messenger said: "Leave what appears doubtful to you and adopt that which is not doubtful to you , for truth is peace of mind and the Lie is a means of doubt.“(Al Tirmidhi)

PUNISHMENT OF HYPOCRITES

Indeed, the hypocrites will be in the lowest depths of the Fire

- and never will you find for them a helper [4:145]

• They do mischief while they claim to be the reformers املفسدون هم

يعلمون

•  They mock the believers مستهزئون نحن إنما

•  They wander blindly in their transgresion يعمهون طغيانهم في

•  They are not guided ones مهتدين كانوا وما

Surah AL BAQARA

Their example is that of one who kindled a fire, but when it

illuminated what was around him, Allah took away their light

and left them in darkness [so] they could not see.(17)

مثلهم كمثل الذي استوقد نارا فلما أضاءت ما حوله ذهب اللـه   بنورهم وتركهم في ظلمات لا يبصرون

Deaf, dumb and blind - so they will not return [to the right

path]. (18)

Surah Al-Baqarah

﴿ST﴾  صم بكم عمي فهم ال يرجعون

Or [it is] like a rainstorm from the sky within which is darkness, thunder and lightning. They put their fingers in their ears against the

thunderclaps in dread of death. But Allah is encompassing of the disbelievers. (19)

أو كصيب من السماء فيه ظلمات ورعد وبرق يجعلون أصابعهم في آذانهم ﴿Se﴾   من الصواعق حذر املوت واللـه محيط بالكافرين  

The lightning almost snatches away their sight. Every time it lights [the way] for them, they walk therein; but when darkness comes over them, they stand

[still]. And if Allah had willed, He could have taken away their hearing and their sight. Indeed, Allah is over all things competent. (20)

  إذا  كلما أضاء لهم مشوا فيه و يكاد البرق يخطف أبصارهمأظلم عليهم قاموا

  ولو شاء اللـه لذهب بسمعهم وأبصارهم إن اللـه ,+* كل شيء      ﴿qr﴾  قدير

WHERE DO I STAND? Allah has described three categories of people and their end I have to choose the group I want to be in
