FITZROY IS AN INNER CITY SUBURB WHICH IS EXPERIECING AN INCREASE IN POPULATION BUT HAVE LIMITED PUBLIC FACILITES TO CATER FOR THE COMMUNITY. THE SITE LOCATED AT THE EXISITING FITZROY POOL AND ADJACENT PARK ALONG ALEXANDRA PARADE IS CURRENTLY A MAJOR BIKE ROUTE TO THE CBD. TO PREVENT USERS FROM TREATING THE SITE AS A MERE TRANSPORT ROUTE A NEW COMMUNITY CENTRE IS PLACED HERE TO PROVIDE THE NECESSARY COMMUNITY SERVICES AS WELL AS CREATING A PLACE OF LEISURE. BY INTRODUCING ACTIVITES ALONG THE NEW PATHS INTEREST WILL BE GENERATED. THE THREE BUILDINGS OPEN UP TO THE PLAZA AND PARK MAKING THE SPACES OPERATE AS ONE PRECINCT.THE CECIL STREET ELEVATION FACES THE PARK TO ALLOW RESIDENTS TO HAVE VIEWS OF THE GREENERY AND THE ALEXANDRA PARADE FACADE IS COMPOSED OF AN EXTENDED CONCRETE WALL WITH A SEMI PERFORATED TWIG PATTERN ENABLING IRREGULAR LIGHTING TO PENETRATE THUS HIGHLIGHTING THE IDEA OF BLURRING THE BOUNDARIES BETWEEN INTERIOR AND EXTERIOR.

First Year Semester 2 (Masters)NEW FOOTSCRAY LIBRARY PROPOSAL:

In the Loop is a proposal for a new Footscray library, that uses the concept of an infinite staircase to explore the different areas of the library which represent various ways of learning over time. A hierarchy is established inside where users start on the ground which is the main area for interacting and conversation, hence the cafe and childrens library is located here. The next stage is the reading section of the library, where the main collections, reading spaces and individual study spaces are located.. A void has been made on this floor to let users get a glimpse of the digital interactive space above where technology is becoming a major part of contemporary libraries.By walking on these stairs, users are able to witness the change and experience a different library on each level, where the path forms a looped circulation showing the merge of old and new.

First Year Semester 1 (Masters)ART COMPLEX with ANIMATION STUDIO:

This design explores the relationship between money and art. Both money and art is a form of exchange in society, This exchange can be simplified into an in and out movement which creates an outline simialr to the stock market graph which forms the basis of the plans.

The stock market graph is a motif in the design. Apart from the plans, the outline is also used to create the exterior stepped sculpture plaza which also functions as a sculpture park

The form of the structure aims to reflect the idea that both money and art can coexist and that their functions may overlap. The commercial space is the office of an animation studio, which highlights the concept that money and art are interrelated, where money can be both an input and output of art/design.

ARCHITECTURE DESIGN STUDIO: FIRE:A

Conan Dolye theatre design encapsulates the concept of time through utlising an hour glass inspired plan combining with looped circulation to re-emphasise the never ending movement of time. A play on scale seen in the keyhole entrance generates interest and curiosity further enhancing the concept of mystery. The widening and narrowing of internal walls with unexpected openings creates anticipation as well as a perception of different speeds of movement.
