    NEVERELEVEN

    STORYBOARD

    Project Info

    Title: Never Eleven.

    Director: Livio Bondi.Technique: Live Action.Length: 180 sec.

Notes:Due to the act that the lm will be displayed on a estival, I am allowedto show the storyboard but I can not show any part o the script (untillthe release o the lm).The ollowing scene is a dialogue between the two main characters.

The panels are quite detailed (more then my usual storyboards are)because this storyboard was used or a pitching and the directorthought it would we useul to have somthing to show that was between astoryboard and a comic book.

Reading direction, by columns, top to bottom, left to right.

In the FOUR PANELS that START the

    DIALOGUE SEQUENCE,

JUMP CUT is created to introduce the

    MOOD of the scene.

    Concer to PROJECTSOutline:

In a theatre, curtains open on a dark stage. Music starts. A spot light shows a musician

sitting on a toilet, in the middle o the stage. Pushing. Other instruments start to play,

and two more musicians start to perorm their part o the concert. They are pushing out

orm their bodies the music they have inside them. During the concerto crazy things

happen, and, ater a peculiar climax, the three musicians will receive the verdict o their

    perormance rom the audience.

    Climax:

Postmodern (sel reerential). During his solo, the main musician pushes so hard that the

paper where the animation is drawn on starts to crumple and becomes a ball o paper.

    Music stops. T

he only sound is the heavy panting o the solo perormer.

The other two characters fatten out the paper, and concerto ends.

    Controlling Idea:

Positive. The three artists can play the music they have inside them + Audience at the

    end applaud them.

    STORYBOARD

For Aterlie I worked as a storyboard artist (or a 3rd year media practice student)

in order to layout the rst part o an online graphic novel. The story and the characters

are not mine, and the nal result will be pretty dierent, because the author works with

photos collages and the story will be interactive.

He asked me to collaborate on this project because o my previous studies in graphic

novelling and my interest in storyboarding. The ollowing images are just a selection o ew pages.

    A silly story about poo

A business man is waiting or the bus at the bus stop, readinghis newspaper, alone. He is not aware o the events that willollow and that will change his calm day.A storm o angry birds are ying in his direction in a combatormation. Pidgeon poo starts to ra in rom the sky.The poor man has just the time to cover himsel with thenewspaper and run try ing to fnd a shelter (a scene similar tothe airplane scene in Hitchcock movie North by Northwest). The letal drops hit the ground with heavy sounds (as abombardment) and the scared man fnds shelter in a phonebox. In the meanwhile the bird battalion, with a u-turn movement, aims the phone booth, ready or another attack. Unortunatelyor them, they don t notice an airplane that is ying betweenthem and their prey. The birds attack, but they are sucked in one o the aircratengine. Feathers y everywhere in the blue sky.The man controls himsel, checking i he has. over him, anytrace o the attack. He is clean.Exiting rom hi s shelt er, he looks the sky and makes a rudegesture against his dead ene mies, but, watching the sky, hecant see the dog poo that is waiting him on the sidewalk. He tramples on it.END.

    TANGERO

The ollowing text, written in a narrative orm that will be quitedierent rom the nal script, is a short passage o a bigger story Ihave in my mind since last summer, a story about passion, regret, love, tango and death. This story is loca ted in Argentina, and is aboutan old man, that has been in his past a great tango dancer, probably

the greatest, but now he is alone, waiting or his own death. His wieis already gone and his amily is too busy to pay attention to him.

Shes arrived . Death.I was waiting or her, and now she is in ront o me. Itsthe end, but Im not scared, or happy. Probably Im justtiredReally tired. Everything in my lie is gone, my ame, mywie, and now my lieShe is inviting me, she wants that I ollow here. I grabher hand.Take me wherever you wantOur hands touch each other.

A shiver shakes my spine and my old bones.Suddenly her shape is changed, she is not anymore theblack reaper I cant believe my eyes.. She is gorgeous, with her red curly hairs over her shoulders, and her blackglittering dance dress long legs A body created ordance. And, as natural as is breathing, we started to dance atango.Together.I didnt realize immediately what was happening, onlyater ew steps. When you had danced or all your lie, its

an automatic action, something you dont need to thinkabout. And or me, dancing tango, is something written on

my DNA. My mom told me that I learned to dance beore

    I learned to walk.

And I am dancing with the Death right know. But there is something weird. It is not my partner, well, not just my partner it i s my role.

For the frst time in my whole lie I am not leading a

tango. This is odd I am ollowing someone else steps or

the very frst time.I think it is ok.

I am old, and tired I can just ollow someone else , this

time but something inside me is unhappy something

    is hurting me

Step ater step I can ee l my end nearer, and somethinginside me that is crying.

My honourIt is it...I cant ollow someone else dancing steps, I simply cant.

Im not born to ollow anyone, neither Death.Im sorry, Miss Death, but i you want to dance with me,

you have to ollow MY steps .

And fnally the real tango starts. The duel between two

untamed souls begins. Both o us want to lead, but onlyone can. And at this dance, Im sorry my dear, I cant lose.

You will be mine , Death. We will dance together, orever.

    The Plague

My other book was Erika Ostrovskys Cline and HisVision. Cline was a brave French soldier in the First WorldWaruntil his skull was cracked. Ater that he couldntsleep, and there were noises in his head. He became a doctor, and he treated poor people in the daytime, and he wrotegrotesque novels all night. No art is possible without adance with death, he wrote.

    Slaughterhouse Five.Written by: Vonnegut, K.

The monster has become too big for me.Last words spoken byKaspar Hauser beore he died in 1833.

In an aseptic uture, scientists are trying to fnd thegenetic reason or the last plague that aicts the world.Creativity.People rom dierent countries, belies and ages justexplode or an inner necessity to express themselves and

their creativity. In this sterile and white world, a buncho terrorists try to wake up people blowing up themselves, creating huge works o art that become part o the city, until the S.P.B (Sweepers Police Bureau) clean these art/terroristic attacks. But this story is not about a terrorist. It is about a guy that just cant stop to imagine. Its astory about his inner fght between his necessity to expresshimsel and his will to be like any other, until his creativitylevel become just too high to be contained, and he has toshow to the world what he has inside himsel.
