Mercury The planet closest to the sun is called Mercury. Mercury
is hot, dry and covered with craters. A crater is a large hole in the ground shaped like a bowl. Mercury has no moons.

by a thick layer of clouds. It is a hot, rocky planet covered with mountains, valleys, and craters. Venus has no moons.
Earth From space, Earth looks like a white and blue ball. Our
planet is the third planet from the sun. It has the air and water needed to support life. Earth has one moon.
MarsThe fourth planet from the sun, Mars, is often called
the red planet because its surface is a reddish color. Mars is a rocky desert with volcanoes, valleys, and large dust storms. It has two moons.
