Recent technical achievements of large-scale bridge design in China

中国大型桥梁设计技术新进展

Dr. Xu Gongyi has worked as a Bridge Designer in BRDI

for 32 years & served as Deputy Chief Engineer since

1999. I have worldwide experience in the design of more

than 60 bridges. In 2006, I was awarded the China

Engineering Design Master. In 2014 I obtained

Outstanding Engineer Award, and in 2015 I obtained the

Outstanding Achievement Award from ICE-SH.

徐恭义博士,桥梁设计师,在中铁大桥勘测设计院工作

32年,自 1999年担任副总工程师,主持并参与设计了

60多座座桥梁;2006年被评为全国工程设计大师;2014

年荣获全国首届杰出工程师称号,2015 年荣获英国土

木工程师学会上海分会杰出成就奖。

BRDI of China Railway that I am working for, is

the first professional design company for major bridges in China. It has surveyed and designed more

than 1000+ major and mega bridges covering railways, highways, municipals, of which 60+ are across

the Yangtze River, 30+ across the Yellow river, and 30+ across bays or seas.

中铁大桥勘测设计院(BRDI)是中国国内最早的大型桥梁专业设计公司,已勘测设计了特大型

桥梁 1000 余座,其中长江大桥 60 余座、黄河大桥 50 余座、跨海大桥 30 余座。

Hereafter, I would specify some important bridge engineering examples to explain the achievements

in Chinese bridge engineering construction:

下面,我将通过几个重大的工程案例来说明中国桥梁建设技术新进展:

(1) Shantou Bay Bridge 154+452+154m, the first modern suspension bridge in China, still keeps

the longest span record in the world for PC stiffening girder of suspension bridge, I am the main

designer for the PC box girder.

汕头海湾大桥 154+452+154m:我们在上个世纪末九十年代,设计完成中国第一座现代悬索桥

——汕头海湾大桥,采用预应力混凝土加劲梁做悬索桥的主梁,其跨度至今仍保持世界同类纪

录,本人在此项目中负责混凝土加劲梁的设计。

After that, we created the PC slab as the stiffening girder for suspension bridge and developed the new

PC stiffening girder for medium span suspension bridge, it also created new design methods for PC

slab stiffening girder suspension bridge.

随后,我们的团队又创新设计了预应力混凝土板式加劲梁悬索桥,并将此新颖的加劲梁用于中

跨度的多座悬索桥,同时也创造了这类预应力混凝土板式加劲梁悬索桥的设计方法。

(3)Hongguang Bridge in Liuzhou 柳州红光桥

The plate girder suspension bridge has a span of 380m, a width of 27m and a maximum height of

2.2m. The girder used π type open section; it is a successful example of using π type open section in

the main girder of the suspension bridge after the damage of Tacoma Bridge caused by wind.

柳州红光桥采用 380m 一跨过江的悬索桥,桥面宽 27 米梁高 2.2 米,主梁采用 π 型开口式钢板

梁截面,这是继美国塔科玛悬索桥因风致毁事故以来国际上再度应用研究 π 型开口式钢板主梁

悬索桥的成功范例。

(4)Saiwan Bridge in Macau :110+180+110m

Saiwan bridge in Macau is the first double deck cable-stayed bridge with PC box girder in the world.

The double deck girder provided 6 lanes on top and 4 lanes in the lower box for light-rail traffic. One

of the special design characteristics of Saiwan Bridge is that it enables the double deck traffic cross

the strait under all weather conditions including grade 8 Typhoons. The PC box girder used for this

type of bridge was the first in the world.

澳门西湾桥 目前世界上最大跨度的双层混凝土斜拉桥,采用双层双主梁结构,上层为双向 6 车

道,下层箱式结构,双向 4 车道,可以在 8 级台风时保证正常交通,桥内还预留铺设轻型铁轨

空间,是国际上首座在预应力箱梁内外均能行车的桥梁

(5)Dongguan River Bridge 东莞东江桥

Dongguan River Bridge 112+208+112m is the first

double deck highway bridge with 16 lanes in China.

It is made of steel truss bridge by suspension

stiffeners.

东莞东江桥,跨度为 112+208+112 米,它是中国

第一座双向双层 16 车道的公路桥。该桥为由刚

性悬索加劲弦加强的钢桁架梁组成。

(6)Xiling Yangtze River Bridge for Three Gorges Dam 三峡西陵长江大桥

The Xiling Yangtze River Bridge for Three Gorges Dam with main span 900m across the Yangtze

River is built by steel box stiffening girders.

三峡西陵长江大桥跨度为 900 米,一跨过江。它是中国第一座钢箱梁悬索桥。

(7)Taizhou Yangtze River Bridge: 1080+1080m 泰州长江大桥

Taizhou Yangtze River Bridge is a double-span suspension bridge with each span being 1080 m. It is

the longest span suspension bridge with three pylons in the world and awarded outstanding structure

award in 2014 by IABSE.

泰州长江大桥为双跨悬索桥,每个主跨为 1080 米。它是全世界跨度最大的、三塔悬索桥。2014

年被国际桥梁与结构工程协会授予杰出结构奖。

(8)Yangsigang Yangtze River Bridge 杨泗港长江大桥

The Yangsigang Yangtze River Bridge with a main span of 1700m, double decks for 12 lanes,

orthotropic decks, is a steel truss suspension bridge. The main cable diameter is about Ø 109 cm, with

91 Ø 6.22 mm cables that sustain1960 MPa. The 6 upper deck lanes bear a design speed 80km/h and

the 6 lower deck lanes bear a design speed 60km/h.

杨泗港长江大桥的跨度为 1700 米,双层 12 车道,由正交异性钢桥面板和钢桁架构成加劲梁结

构。其主缆索直径 Ø 109 cm,由 91 根 Ø 6.22 mm,抗拉强度 1960 MPa 的超高强度钢丝组成。上

层桥面 6 车道设计车速为 80 公里/小时;下层桥面 6 车道设计车速为 60 公里/小时。

(9)Wufengshan Yangtze River Bridge 五峰山长江大桥

The Wufengshan Yangtze River Bridge for Highway & High Speed Train has a main span of 1092m.

It is the first rail-cum-road suspension bridge in China and it is the railway suspension bridge with the

highest design speed. The cable diameter is about Ø 130 cm and it has double decks with steel truss

stiffening girder. There are 4 tracks of high-speed railways and 8 lanes of highway.

五峰山长江大桥是高速铁路与公路两用桥,主跨为 1092 米。它是中国第一座高速铁路和高速公

路两用大桥,也是世界上设计速度最高的铁路悬索桥。其主缆索的直径约为 Ø 130 cm,本桥梁

为双层桥面钢桁架加劲梁结构,布置有高速铁路 4 线和高速公路 8 车道。

(10)Chaotianmen Yangtze River Bridge 朝天门长江大桥

The span of Chaotianmen Yangtze River Bridge is 190m+552m+190m. It is a steel truss arch structure

with double decks. There are 6 lanes on the upper deck, 2 lines of municipal light railways added by 2

roadway lanes on lower deck.

朝天门长江大桥跨度为 190m+552m+190m, 它是一座双桥面的钢桁架与拱的混合结构,上桥面

有 6 车道,下桥面有 2 线城市轻轨以及 2 条汽车道。

(11)Dashengguan Yangtze River Bridge in Nanjing 南京大胜关长江大桥

Dashengguan Yangtze River Bridge with the span of 336+336m, it is built for Beijing-Shanghai High

Speed Railway. The design speed is 300km/h. Continuous steel truss arch with two main spans of

336m.

南京大胜关长江大桥的跨度为 336+336m, 它是专为京沪高铁而建造的。设计车速为 300 公里/

小时。全桥由两跨各为 336 米的连续钢拱架组成。

(12)Yingwuzhou Yangtze River Bridge 鹦鹉洲长江大桥

Yingwuzhou Yangtze River Bridge with span of 850+850m comprises stiffening composite girders

and steel frames with RC decks.

鹦鹉洲长江大桥为双跨各为 850 米的悬索桥,其加劲梁由钢框架和钢筋混凝土桥面板复合而成。

(13) Erqi Yangtze River Bridge 武汉二七长江大桥

Erqi Yangtze River Bridge is a cable-stayed bridge with three pylons and a span of 616+616m. The

bridge is made of steel-concrete composite girders.

武汉二七长江大桥为带有三个主塔的多塔斜拉桥,两个主跨度各为 616 米。该桥为钢混复合

梁结构。

(14)Bouregreg River Cable-stayed bridge in Morocco 摩洛哥布里格里格河大桥

Bouregreg River Cable-stayed bridge with a main span of 370m is made of steel-concrete composite

girders.

摩洛哥布里格里格河大桥主跨 370 米,由空间混凝土塔和钢混复合梁组成。

(15)Footway Bridges 人行桥

Footway bridges are generally located in scenic sites where the geographic topography is complicated

and difficult to be approached or crossed by people. The purpose of building footway bridges is purely

facilitated to visitors for sightseeing the beautiful scene. A basic principle of design footway bridges is

the harmonization of structure and the scene, we need to put the architectural aesthetics in an

important place. i.e. the footway bridge in a scenic site should provide a symbol of social and aesthetic

value and harmony with surrounding environment as shown in the picture below.

人行桥一般设立在地形复杂而人们又难以到达或跨越的风景地区。建设人行桥目的就是纯粹为

了使游客能到达或跨越所要到达的风景地区来赏阅景观的。设计人行桥的一项重要原则就是要

使桥和环境协调,所以我们需要将建筑美学放在重要的位置来考虑。这就是说,在风景区的人

行桥应当为今后提供一个社会和美学价值的标志,它必须和周围的环境协调并融为一体。如下

图所示为我们在神农架林区和张家界风景区设计的两座人行桥。

(16) High-Speed Railway Bridges in China 中国高铁桥梁的进展

China has the world's longest HSR network with over 19,000 km (12,000 mi) of track in service by

December 2015. Over the past decade, the country has undergone an HSR building boom with

generous funding from the Chinese government's economy stimulus programme. As a result, bridge

technology in China has been recognized by its outstanding development during a relatively short

period.

中国拥有世界最长的高铁路网,截止 2015 年 12 月,已建成运行的高铁全长达到 19,000 公里

(12,000 英里)。在过去 10 年,中国进入高铁建设的高潮,在中国政府经济促进计划下投入

了大量的资金,借此机遇,桥梁建设技术也在较短的时间内获得到突出的进步和大幅度提升。

Having learned by ample experience gained from unprecedented bridge construction projects in the

last few decades, China bridge engineers are now focusing more on the design of bridges that presents

lifetime durability, sustainability and aesthetic harmonization. They strive to provide optimized

structural efficiency and cost-effectiveness with the combination of high-performance materials and

innovative construction methods.

中国桥梁工程师在学习近数十年大量空前的桥梁建设的基础上,目前正更多集中在使桥梁在全

生命周期更为耐久,更可持续和更协调与美观。他们依赖高性能材料和创新建设方法的结合,

正力争提供最优的结构有效性和性价比的桥梁结构。

Conclusive Remark 小结

As we call back to the development of bridge construction in China, we can’t stand to astonish the fast

steps of its footprint. There are five milestones in her development represented by five bridges, i.e.

starting from Wuhan Yangtze river bridge in 50s of last century to Nanjing Yangtze river bridge in 60s,

then Jiujiang and Wuhu Yangtze river bridge, until Wuhan Tianxingzhou Yangtze river bridge. Each

one possesses different type, different materials and technology and different construction method,

which condensed the wisdom and efforts of Chinese bridge engineers and builders.

当我们回顾中国桥梁建设的发展,我们不由为其迅速发展的步伐所惊叹! 有五座典型的桥梁可

作为其发展的里程碑,即:上世纪 50 年代的武汉长江大桥,继而 60 年代的南京长江大桥,随

后就是九江和芜湖的长江大桥,最后才是武汉天兴洲大桥。其中每一座桥都有不同的桥型,不

同的材料和工艺和不同的施工方法。这些都凝聚了中国桥梁工程师和桥梁建设者的智慧和努力。

On the 13th January 2016, the signing ceremony for a triparty agreement involving ICE, Shanghai Jiao

Tong University (SJTU) and Shanghai Construction Group (SCG) was held in the general office of

Shanghai Jiao Tong University’s Xuhui Campus. ICE President Sir John Armitt, Director General

Nick Baveystock, ICE China special representative, former president Douglas Oakervee, ICE China

representative Geoff Mills, SCG President, Director General Hang Yingwei, former president Jiang

Zhiquan, Chief Engineer Gong Jian, President of University Board Committee of SJTU Jiang Sixian,

Director of Publicity Hu Hao, Head of School of Naval Architecture, Ocean and Civil Engineering

Yang Jianmin, Deputy Head Zhao Jincheng, Head of Civil Engineering Department Shen Shuilong,

Shanghai Jiao Tong University Chair Professor Liu Xila, Chief Executive of ICE China Training

Centre (ICE-CTC) Lin Shaopei, Director General of ICE-Shanghai (ICE-SH) Yang Jian and the legal

representatives of the relevant parties all attended the ceremony.

2016 年 1 月 13 日下午,英国土木工程师学会(ICE) 同上海交通大学及上海建工集团在徐汇校

区总办公厅举行了三方合作协议签署仪式。ICE 主席 John Armitt 爵士,ICE 常务总裁 Nick

Baveystock,ICE 中国特别代表、前任主席 Douglas Oakervee,ICE 中国代表 Geoff Mills,上海

建工集团董事兼总裁杭迎伟,前任董事长蒋志权,总工程师龚剑,上海交通大学校务委员会主

任、党委书记姜斯宪、宣传部部长胡昊、船建学院院长杨建民、副院长赵金城、土木系系主任

沈水龙,上海交通大学讲席教授刘西拉,ICE 中国教育培训中心执行主任林少培、ICE 上海分

会秘书长杨健以及相关单位的法务代表出席了签署仪式。

It can be dated back to 2005 when ICE-CTC, who provides training for ICE membership in the region

of China, was established at Shanghai Jiao Tong University. In the latest agreement, the three parties

renewed ICE-CTC’s programme, including adaption and career development training for engineers

willing to obtain chartership through the mutual recognition for professional qualifications between

China and the UK. The training programme was officially approved and supported by the ICE

headquarter. Through ICE-CTC senior training course, engineers can take an alternative route to

chartership instead of the standard route that requires professional development review that may last

for many years. The objective is to provide a feasible route to obtaining such an Internationally

recognized qualification for civil engineers in China, hence accelerates the globalization of China’s

civil engineering industry.

早在 2005 年,ICE 就在上海交通大学设立了 ICE中国教育培训中心,负责在中国地区进行 ICE

注册工程师资质的培训事务。本次协议中,三方对该培训中心的项目进行了更新,并增加了通

过中英两国土木工程师资质互认这一途径,获得注册资格工程师的适应性培训和职业发展培训

(CPD)内容。该培训项目得到 ICE 官方认证和支持,通过 ICE 高级课程培训,可以豁免按标准

途径申请要求所需长达数年的职业发展评估考核,旨在为我国的土木工程从业者获得国际权威

注册工程师资质搭建便利桥梁,从而加速我国的土木工程行业的国际化进程。

Under China’s “One Belt, One Road” initiative, Chinese civil engineering and construction industry

sees increasing demand for globalization, and for the industries who are willing to “go global”, ICE

chartership will help them, with a greater pace, to grow in global market, to build a reputation and to

gain trust around different regions of the world. Shanghai Jiao Tong University can also further

enhance its global reputation through the platform. Meanwhile, the ICE senior training course could

potentially be embedded into the post-graduate course for the master students, for the benefit of

cultivating more globally competitive young engineers within the construction and technology

industry.

鉴于我国当前的“一带一路”发展战略,土木建筑行业对于国际接轨的需求日益强烈。对于那

些需要“走出去”的建筑企业, ICE 注册工程师资质能够帮助他们更加迅速的在世界各个地

区扩展业务、树立形象、赢得信任;对于上海交通大学,在通过这个平台进一步提升自身国际

影响力的同时,也可尝试将 ICE 高级课程培训嵌入到研究生教学课程当中,为行业培养更具时

代感更加国际化的工程技术人才。

Mr. Oakervee mainly focused on the following items: the MoU signed between ICE and CHINCA,

which includes the mutual qualification recognition by ICE and CHINCA, training provisions, forum

on International Infrastructure Investment and Construction in Macau and so on.

Mr. Zhou expressed his warm welcome and made a brief introduction to the engagement of ICE inside

SUCG. In addition the learnt society function, Mr. Zhou also hoped that ICE could provide more

opportunities for SUCG to interact with foreigner companies. Mr. Zhou would like to arrange a

delegation with less than 10 people, mainly senior engineers or managerial people, to London and

other European countries for studying and site visiting such as the tunnel construction in London.

Besides, Mr. Zhou also wished to send a team to get trained from the ICE HQ. Mr. Oakervee was

keen on helping with these matters.

The inauguration of the BIM Research Center at Shanghai Jiao Tong University and the

Symposium on the Research and the Application of BIM

上海交大 BIM 研究中心成立以及 BIM 研究与应用讨论会召开

On the 28th of March, the grand ceremony of the inauguration of the BIM Research Center at

Shanghai Jiao Tong University was held successfully at the Hao Ran Building of SJTU, together with

the Symposium on the Research and the Application of BIM. Prof. He Yousheng and Prof. Jiang

Huancheng, both the Academicians of the Chinese Academy of Engineering, as well as Prof. Yang

Jianmin, the Dean of the School of Naval Architecture and Civil Engineering, attended the ceremony.

Researchers from top universities and companies from the fields of designing, construction, project

management and software development were invited to share their latest research or their first-hand

experience in the use of the BIM. Undergraduates from the Students’ Chapters of ICE at Shanghai

Jiao Tong University, Tongji University and Xi’an Jiaotong-Liverpool University also took part in the

event to get a full appreciation of this emerging technology.

Several ICE-SH members and G&S members have actively participated in this event. Amongst them

are the Center Director Professor Liu Xila (FICE CEng), Executive Center Director Assoc. Professor

Deng Xueyuan (MICE, CEng), Expert Panel Members: Academician He Yousheng,Jiang Huancheng

(FICE) etc. The research team includes:Deputy Director Assoc. Professor Zhang Jiachun (MICE,

CEng), Deputy Director Professor Yang Jian (FICE CEng), Professor Huang Zhen (FICE, CEng ) and

Assoc. Professor Song Xiaobing (MICE, CEng). All of them are willing to share their experience for

the development of BIM technology in civil engineering profession.

ICE-SH representatives visited Arup Shanghai Office

On 16th April 2015, the ICE-SH representatives (Lin Shaopei, Yang Jian, Chen Yu and Sharon Shi)

visited Arup Shanghai Office and had a meeting with Michael Kwok, GM of Arup Shanghai Office,

Desmond Ho and Zhang Ye. The key topic discussed at the meeting was how ICE-SH can better engage

with Arup and its ICE members at various levels. Kwok said that Arup has always been actively

supporting their employees to develop their ICE Chartership and therefore has always been keen in

participating in ICE’s activities. Prof. Lin appreciated and welcomed Arup’s and Kwok’s inputs to

ICE-SH. This can be in the form of delivering lectures and technical talks, joint organization of events

and providing mentoring supports to students. Prof. Yang suggested that ICE-SH’s G&S committee

was considering developing several graduate chapters made up of graduates from several corporates

such as Arup, who would closely participate in the planning and organizing of G&S activities. For

instance, supported by ICE-SH, each graduate chapter can use their resources to organize one event per

year and to be shared to other sub-chapters. They could also provide mentorship to students from our

four student chapters. Kwok supported this idea and nominated Desmond Ho and Zhang Ye to be the

points of Arup contact.

4 月 16 日 ICE 上海分会代表林少培教授、杨健教授、陈宇博士及石莹女士访问了 Arup 上海

Prof. Yang Jian Visited XJLU for the JBM accreditation

Prof. Yang Jian, ICE board member, joined the JBM (Joint Board of Moderators) visiting team of

Xi’an Jiao Tong-Liverpool University’s Civil Engineering Courses on 19 – 21 May 2015. The courses

accredited include BEng in Civil Engineering, BEng Architectural Engineering, MSc in Sustainable

Construction and MSc in Civil Engineering. The visiting team was made up of 5 members representing

JBM panel, ICE, IStructE (the Institution of Structural Engineers), local industry and HEI (Chartered

Institution of Highways and Transportation and the Institute of Highway Engineers). The team spent

two days inspecting the course setting-up, specifications and products, visiting their facilities,

interviewing the staff, students, graduates and industrial advisors. Based on findings, they

produced a reports outlining whether these courses meet the accreditation requirements.

课程认证包括土木工程的本科课程、建筑学的本科课程、可持续建筑及土木工程的 研究生课程。考

JBM is formed by four professional bodies, i.e., the ICE, IStructE, the Chartered Institution of

Highways and Transportation and the Institute of Highway Engineers. The JBM assesses and makes

recommendations on the accreditation and approval of relevant educational programs that it will accept

as meeting the requirement to register as a professional engineer with the Engineering Council – the

body responsible for regulating the engineering profession within the UK. More details on JBM and

Laverty Visited ICE-SH and ICE-CTC

The Head of Education & Inspiration and the Interim Head of Membership of ICE, Mr. John Laverty,

accompanied by Jackie Yang, ICE-China representative, visited ICE Shanghai Branch (ICE-SH) and

ICE China Training Centre (ICE-CTC) on 16 June 2015. The visit was warmly welcomed by the

Director General of ICE-SH Prof. Lin Shaopei, ICE-SH board member Prof. Jian Yang, Office

Manager of ICE-SH Ms. Felicia Zhao and Training manager of ICE-CTC Ms. Sharon Shi. During the

meeting, Prof. Lin made an informative presentation outlining the key activities that ICE-SH and

ICE-CTC have undertaken since they were launched in 2003 and 2005, respectively. Those activities

include the branch daily works, the technical exchanges, trainings and CPD courses, membership

promotion events, G&S activities, research and social activities. Mr. Laverty appreciated the branch

and the center for putting tremendous efforts and time to promoting and developing ICE in China and

commended the level of breadth and the extent of outcomes. In the meeting, other key issues were

discussed including the training supports that ICE-CTC can provide to facilitate the mutual recognition

of qualifications between ICE and CHINCA, the plan of launching an ICE Journal of Civil Engineering

Innovations, the renewal of ICE-CTC’s licenses etc. Prof. Yang Jian chaired the meeting.

In the afternoon, participants visited SCG to meet the President, Mr. Hang Yingwei, and the Chief

Engineer, Mr. Gong Jian. The China Representative, Mr. Geoffrey Mills, also joined the meeting. Mr.

Laverty, on behalf of ICE, thanked SCG for their constant supports to ICE. The collaborative

relationship has been proven to be healthy and sustainable. Mr. Hang expressed that SCG will continue

to support ICE-SH and wished that this type of joint efforts may further promote and develop the

profession in China and globally. During the meeting,Mr. John Laverty also made congratulations on

Mr. Hang Yingwei and Mr. Gong Jian’s acquisition of FICE qualification.

Mr. John Laverty, Head of Education and Inspiration. The discussion was very informative. It covered

a broad range of interests in various areas that related to the current ICE work in China as well as the

long-term strategies of ICE under the new challenges in the globe. On 23 June, Prof. Lin also had

meeting with Mrs. Ellen Ryan, the HE Manager of ICE-HQ.

ICE-SH representatives attend the launching event of iTWO 5D

ICE 上海分会代表参加 iTWO 5D 开幕盛典

The representatives of ICE-SH have been invited to attend the launching event of the iTWO 5D lab

jointly sponsored by the Faculty of Architecture of the University of Hong Kong and RIB Software

Group, Germany. The event took place in the Shanghai Learning Centre of the HKU located in the

North Suzhou Road. In the event, the CEO of RIB, Mr. Thomas Wolf and the Dean of the Faculty of

Architecture, Prof. Chris Webster, gave the address talks respective. The ICE-SH representative, Prof.

Yang and three student representatives from SJTU student chapter, attended the event.

9 月 23 日,由香港大学建筑学院及 RIB 集团联合举办的“香港大学建筑学院上海 iTWO 5D 实验

室”开幕盛典在上海虹口区北苏州路香港大学上海学习中心举行。本次开幕式邀请了 RIB 集团

总裁 Mr Thomas Wolf 以及香港大学建筑学院院长 Chris Webster为开幕式致辞及演讲,国内多

名 BIM 相关研究人员和科研团队也都齐聚于此,共享盛会。上海交大船建学院教授杨健老师及

The name of iTWO 5D stands for integrating the virtual and physical environments for the

construction process to assisting the project management in the 3D space as well as the time and cost

domains. The iTWO 5D lab will provide training, education and demonstration for students or

practitioners who wish to utilize the package. During the networking session, Professor Yang spoke to

both the Dean and Association Dean of the faculty and introduced ICE-SH and ICE-CTC. Both felt

that there would be potential opportunities to develop collaborations on CPD training and networking.

The first International Shanghai “Global BIM” Summit

The first International Shanghai “Global BIM” Summit sponsored by ICES, HK was held on 10 July

at Tongji University. Dr. Deng Xueyuan (MICE,CEng), as the representative of ICE Shanghai branch,

was invited to deliver a speech on IFC Standard at the summit. ICE-SH Director General Prof. Lin

Shaopei and ICE-SH Office Manager Felicia Zhao also attended the summit.

On 5 August 2015, the delegations from ICE Shanghai Branch (ICE-SH) and Shanghai Construction

Group (SCG) had a meeting at SCG’s premise to discuss the working plan of the ICE-SH and a few

technical subjects that SCG is keen to engage with ICE-SH.

2015 年 8 月 5 日 ICE 上海分会与上海建工集团代表共同开会讨论了 ICE 上海分会的今后计划以

及双方共同感兴趣的一些技术问题。

Professor Lin Shaopei, ICE-SH Director General started the meeting by acknowledging SCG’s

consistent supports in the past years. He then introduced the main works and key activities that

ICE-SH has undertaken in the past and shared his strategic views of enhancing ICE-SH’s function in

China by engaging in supporting staffs’ qualification development and knowledge enhancement of the

enterprises, in particular, under the international environment.

Mr. Gong Jian, the Chief Engineer of SCG, has responded to Prof. Lin,stating that SCG also highly

valued such a collaborative relationship with ICE-SH and wished to continue supporting ICE-SH with

its activities in Shanghai and surrounding regions. He also mentioned that SCG has recently

established a General Research Institute with the aim to research and develop the most cutting edge

technologies in Civil Engineering and their commercialisations. He suggested some immediate

collaborations on personnel visits and networking, where SCG would like to have the assistance from

ICE-SH. Professor Lin promised that ICE-SH would also request helps from ICE-HQ to supply such

assistance, especially during formulating and organizing the visit programs. Attendees also included

Prof. Yang, the board member of ICE-SH and Mr. Xun Xiaohui, the Vice Manager of Overseas

Department of SCG.

The ICE Asia-Pacific Conference was held in Beijing on October 27-28, ICE-SH delegation including

Professor Lin Shaopei, Director General, Professor Jimmy Yang Jian, Director General, Ms Felicia

Zhao Jie, Office Manager and Ms. Sharon Shi Ying, ICE-CTC manager attended the conference.

During ICE-APC, Prof. Lin Shaopei and Prof. Yang Jian of ICE-SH met with Yuan Li, President of

CCEC and speaker of the ICE-APC Forum for future cooperation。

ICE 亚太会议于 10 月 27-28 日在北京举行。ICE 上海分会代表团包括秘书长林少培教授、理事

杨健教授、办公室经理赵洁和培训中心培训经理石莹参加了会议。ICE-APC 会议期间 ICE-SH

ICE 中国区代表 Geoff Mills 和 ICE 上海分会理事讨论分会未来发展

On 23rd Nov. 2015, the ICE China representative Geoff Mills met with the ICE-SH Chair Mr. Jiang

Zhiquan, Director General, Prof. Lin Shaopei and Board Member Professor Yang Jian, discussing the

future development plan of the Branch. The topics covered encompass the training activities, the

preparation of the adaption course for the mutual qualifications recognition (MQR) with CHINCA, the

election of the new board, launching a new journal and the preparation of AGM. Several constructive

initiatives were proposed, which included the development of the embedded course in SJTU

post-graduate Civil Engineering programs, the Elite Adaption Course for new fellows and chartered

engineers through MQR, the work plan of the new journal and the development of the graduate

chapters. It is expected that these initiative will be implemented after the new Board is elected in the

AGM held in 13 Jan 2016.

2015 年 11 月 23 日,ICE 中国区代表 Geoff Mills 与 ICE 上海分会主席蒋志权,秘书长林少培,

理事会成员杨健一起在上海交通大学就 ICE 上海分会的未来发展事宜展开了讨论。这次讨论的

主要内容包括:培训工作,为支持中英资质互认设立的资深会员适应性培训计划,筹备新一届

理事会的选举,重办新期刊以及准备 AGM。在本次讨论中,也提出了一些建设性的建议,包括

将 ICE 相关课程引入到上海交通大学土木工程研究生培养体系中,通过 MRQ 成为新 FICE 和

CEng 的高等适应性课程,制定新期刊的工作计划以及明确毕业生分会的发展战略等。希望在

2016 年 1 月 16 日 AGM 会上的新一届理事会选举结束后,本次讨论所制定的计划能够在新一年

中进行实施。

The bi-lateral collaboration contract between ICE and SCG was signed on June 13, 2006 including

long-term cooperation and supports to the activities of ICE Shanghai Branch. The ICE delegation led

by President Sir John Armitt, Director General Mr. Nick Baveystock, China special representative Mr.

Douglas Oakervee, China representative Mr. Geoffrey Mills visited SCG head-quarter and received

warm welcome by SCG Chairman Mr. Hang Yingwei, chief engineer Gong Jian and others.

The Head of Education & Inspiration and the Interim Head of Membership of ICE, Mr. John Laverty,

together with Mr. Geoffrey Mills, Profs. Lin and Yang from ICE-China and ICE-SH visited CHINCA

on 17th June 2015. The Vice President of CHINCA, Madam Wang He, welcome the delegations. They

hold a meeting to discuss about the mutual qualifications recognition (MQR) scheme, the training and

personnel exchange. Both sides are keen to get the MQR scheme started this year and agreed to focus

on the fellowship level first and gradually move to the Chartership level and other grades. ICE-HQ

will compare the requirements for both ICE fellowship and CHINCA Senior International Project

Managers and draft a guideline document to support the scheme. On the training side, Mr. Mills also

mentioned several proposals for the training provisions targeting at different levels. Some of them can

be facilitated by ICE-CTC, together with CHINCA and SJTU. Prof. Lin from ICE-CTC proposed that

to maximise the benefits of those new ICE fellows through the MQR route, ICE-CTC can provide

adaptive courses covering the practice customs, laws, methods and latest investing approaches that are

applicable in the overseas market.

深会员(FICE)资质着手,逐渐转为会员(MICE)和其它等级资质。ICE 总部将会就 ICE 资

深会员入选资格跟相应的 CHINCA 高级国际项目主管的入选条件进行比较,然后在此基础上提

出支持此项目的指导性文本。Mills 先生随后就针对不同会员等级的培训事项提出了若干建议,

部分将会由 ICE 中国培训中心、CHINCA 和上海交大共同提供。林教授提出为帮助那些通过资

质互认途径新入选的资深会员获得最大化的利益,ICE 中国培训中心可以提供适应性课程,帮

Principles 工作原则

The strengthening of cooperation between the UK and China in civil engineering is based on the

MOU between ICE and CHINCA signed in 2013, which was in accordance with both Government

MOU signed in 2012 for encouraging Chinese enterprises to be involved in construction and

investment activities in the UK infrastructure projects.

加强中英土木工程的合作是基于 2013 年所签订的 ICE 和 CHINCA 之间的备忘录进行的,它也

是根据 2012 年中英两国政府间为鼓励中国企业对英国基础设施项目进行建设与投资的备忘录

而制定的。

As a local branch of ICE, our efforts will be focused on implementing and promoting cooperation

between the UK and China in the local region and for the local companies and institutions who are

potentially intending to cooperate with their UK counterparts in the future.

作为 ICE 的地方分会,我们的工作将集中在实施并推进今后本地区的企业和院校在中英两国之

间的各类可能的合作上。

Our work principles in this promotion will be focusing on practices and on individual companies who

are ready to do so. We aim to establish indicator systems and the best practice. To avoid diverting our

endeavors; we will target at those key matters of overcoming the cultural risks and technical

differences rather than seeking the mutual understanding in a passive manner.

我们推动工作的原则是现实的行动,而不是讨论。对成熟的企业推进实施中英双方的合作,并

树立典型的最佳实践与标杆。不搞普遍地推进,而是要集中于实质问题,有效地解决双方的由

Action Plan 行动安排

The action plan has been arranged in 2015 that covers in training, exchanging/secondment of

personnel, reciprocal visits to collaborative companies as well as multi-recognition of qualifications

etc. The activities will be firstly trialed in several companies with relatively high readiness, such as

SCG (Shanghai Construction Group), SUCG (Shanghai Urban Construction Group) and XADG (Xian

Dai Architectural Design Group). The items of action are:

Cultivating talents for oversea projects for those firms, who are competent in leading the international

business and managing the projects abroad.

ICE China Training Center (ICE-CTC) will be responsible to provide formal, updated and regular

training courses for the senior engineers and oversea project managers;

ICE 中国培训中心(ICE-CTC)将为负责高级工程师和海外项目经理提供正规、因时俱进的培

训班课程;

Promoting personnel exchanging/secondment opportunities for SCG, SUCG and XADG to arrange

their senior engineers and overseas project managers to the UK counterpart companies, such as Mott

McDonald, Crossrail, Arup, etc. (It is noticed that the second program is executed between two parties,

who potentially will be collaborating in the projects either in UK or in third countries. The second

staff can experience the style and environment of work in their counterpart parties and vice versa. For

example, a SCG construction engineer, who is in charge of a construction project as the Project

Manager, is sent by SCG to Crossrail for one year, will work at Crossrail as the assistant project

manager.

为上海建工集团(SCG)、上海城建集团(SUCG)和现代建筑设计集团(XADG)推进人员交

流,安排其高级工程师、海外项目经理去英国 Mott McDonald, Crossrail 及 Arup 等的相应单

位,并进行“换岗”实习。“换岗”实习主要是针对两个今后有可能在中英双方或第三国有合作关

For the purpose of facilitating Chinese enterprises and engineers to enter the Global market, and that

of strengthening ties between the UK and Chinese enterprises facing the global competitions, a

long-term strategic relationship between Chinese and the UK enterprises is necessary and beneficial. A

strategic plan in this regard is advised, e.g.:

为了使中国企业和中国工程师适应国际市场,为了加强中英两国企业面对全球市场竞争的联系,

建立长期的战略合作将对双方企业均有利。因此,就有了以下的战略考虑:

Promoting the bi-lateral visits between the potential partner enterprises for the purpose of further

understanding the strengths of both sides that may directly lead to the long-term strategic collabrative

Adaption Training following Implementing Mutual Recognition of Qualification Program

between ICE and CHIINCA

ICE 与 CHINCA 间技术资质的互认后的适应性培训

One of the important issue after implementing the MRQ program between ICE and CHINCA is the

“adaption” training for new FICE(Fellow of ICE) and new CEng. (Chartered Engineer of ICE). The

necessity of the “adaption” training is that, those new FICE and CEng. who need to understand ICE

history and ICE traditional culture, as well as the rules and knowhow of what an MICE has to know in

the international market with the competitive environment, even though they already have the skills

and experiences to operate the project(s) domestically.

对新的 ICE 资深会员 FICE 以及新的 ICE 特许工程师 CEng.进行“适应性”培训是在实施 ICE 和

中国国际承包工程商会 CHINCA 之间资质互认计划 MRQ 后的一樁重要的工作。“适应性”培训

的需要性是基于新的 ICE 资深会员以及新的 ICE 特许工程师需要了解 ICE 的历史,ICE 的传统

文化,以及即使他们有充分的国内环境下管控项目的经验与技能,但作为一名 ICE 会员还必须

The training courses will be provided separately: the first type of “adaption” training course for FICE

and the second type for MICE/CEng. Each course will last for three full days with six modules set

with different objectives: The FICE course is focused on the overall oversea environment and

emphasizes on the strategic aspects; However, the CEng. course will be rather practical, apart from the

oversea environment, it will discuss some operational skills in the overseas market such as technical

standards, contract management of engineering project, legal problems in projects and HSE

etc.

The 8th Continuing Engineers’ Lecture Series (CELLS-8)

第八届上海工程师继续教育公益讲座

The charity lecture series of CELLS-8, jointly sponsored by ICE Shanghai Branch, Shanghai Institute

of Engineers (SHIE),Pudong Science Association (PUSA)and SJTU, organized by Shanghai Pudong

Engineer Association (PDEA), and ICE China Training Center (ICE-CTC) has successfully started on

March 26, 2015.

由 ICE 上海分会、上海工程师学会、浦东科协和上海交通大学发起,由浦东工程师协会和 ICE

中国教育培训中心组织运作的第八届 CELLS 系列公益讲座于 2015 年 3 月 26 日顺利开讲。

The first lecture was given by Prof. Liu Xila (FICE, CEng.) on the topic of “Challenge faced by

Chinese engineers”. His passionate talk greatly attracted the attention of audience.

Another CELLS-8 lecture on June 18 2015 at Shanghai Science Hall was delivered by Professor Lin

Shaopei (FICE, CEng.), Director General of ICE Shanghai Branch, which is entitled in “The

Engineers’ Ethics in ‘Spirits’ and ‘Culture’ ”, which aims to strengthening the conceptual principles of

engineers’ social responsibility as well as the professional ethics. Around 80 audiences attended the

lecture with great interests. This lecture topic was set forth for introducing “ICE spirits” and “ICE

culture”.

CELLS-8 中另一场名为“工程师精神和文化的道德观”的讲座于 6 月 18 日在上海科学会堂

举办,由 ICE 上海分会秘书长林少培教授(FICE, CEng.)担任主讲。讲座内容旨在如何加强工

The 10th Brunel International Lecture on Post-disaster City Resilience

第 10 届 Brunel 国际讲座-城市的灾后重建能力

On 28 October 2015, the 10th Brunel International Lecture Series was delivered by Duncan Gibb, the

Executive General Manager of the Stronger Christchurch Infrastructure Rebuild Team (SCIRT), at

Shanghai Construction Group (SCG). It was entitled “Collectively we are stronger – engineers

generating collaborative solutions to strengthened community resilience post-disaster”.

2015 年 10 月 28 日,第十届 Brunel 国际系列讲座在上海建工集团举行。主讲人是来自新西兰

基督城强烈地震基础设施重建团队(SCIRT)的执行总经理 Duncan Gibb先生,其演讲题目为“众

志成城—灾后重建中工程师的集思广益”。

The lecture used a case study of the infrastructure damaged by the earthquake events of 2010 to 2011

in Christchurch, New Zealand. It demonstrated that positive results can be achieved through

harnessing the skills and experience of engineers with other diverse professionals and communities.

The learning from this scenario is directly relevant to the role of engineers in the dynamic

environment that is the world of the 21st century. Engineers can deliver outcomes for people through

leadership, innovation and collaboration. In order to meet the extraordinary challenges and risks of the

21st century, the lecture suggested that it is time to expand on the ‘engineers get things done’

reputation to the role that engineers play through achieving social or community outcomes through

engineering.

讲座主要对 2010~2011 新西兰基督城地震后基础设施的受损进行了案例分析。通过不同行业和

社区的协同,工程师能由其本身的经验及技能得到相应灾后重建的成果。从灾后重建所取得的

经验教训也直接反应了 21世纪工程师在动态环境中所处的角色,工程师能从通过领导力、创新

力及协同能力为人们提供抗灾的成果。为应对 21 世纪非凡的挑战及风险,本讲座认为现在应该

是改变人们对工程师“埋头做事”的单一印象的时候了,工程师所扮演的角色应当拓展到通过

This lecture describes an internationally award winning post disaster collaborative recovery model.

The Stronger Christchurch Infrastructure Rebuild Team (SCIRT) designed by engineers and

organizational specialists, to meet the massive infrastructure recovery challenges created by the

earthquakes that struck Christchurch, New Zealand in 2010 and 2011.

讲座介绍了一种获得国际奖项的灾后全面恢复模型。由 SCIRT 的工程师及行业专家设计新西兰

基督城基础设施恢复计划,主要应对由使整个新西兰基督城瘫痪的 2010 年、2011 年强烈地震

破坏。

The formation of SCIRT includes specialists, project management, commercial management, cost

estimation/valuation, asset management, human resources, resource management and commercial

facilitation. In SCIRT ‘partnership’, an Alliance Agreement is the overarching contractual agreement,

which involves three ‘owner’ public government participants and five ‘non-owner’ private contractor

participants; it works in a commercial framework that aims to drive the best value outcomes; and it

has an organizational structure with clear accountability and authority. The SCIRT delivery vehicle

can be a disaster recovery solution as it was founded on a business management framework that was

designed and developed to provide clarity and certainty for the hundreds of team members ‘ pulled

together’ from multiple parent organizations to create an ‘instant’ organization. This model provides

an effective framework for collaboration, intentional organizational development, international

leadership development and solution development.

Increasing risk is a dominant theme of the 21st century. Engineers are well placed to act as leaders of

change to meet this challenge. Innovative forms of collaborative thinking and action are required to

mitigate, prepare for and respond to crisis. This lecture provided an exemplar case in this regard.

21 世纪,风险日益成为压倒一切的命题。工程师在面对这些挑战时起着决定性的作用。合作思

维及合作的行动在降低风险、预判及应对风险式的创新模式要求对危机进行。本讲座对上述问

题提供了一个代表性的案例分析。

About the Brunel International lecture

Brunel 讲座简介

The Brunel International Lecture was instituted in 1999 in memory of Isambard Kingdom Brunel in

recognition of his contribution to civil engineering. The Brunel International Lecture is the ICE’s

touring prestige lecture series; as such it will be taken around the world to various venues. These

lectures have discussed the role of the engineer in topics including infrastructure and technology,

sustainable development, the alleviation of human suffering due to poverty, and the lack of basic

needs. The role of the engineer has been considered in preparing for and responding to the changing

conditions within our global environment in the context of climatic (nature) or social, political

(manmade) circumstances. The key theme of the lectures is that of the engineer in service

of society.

为纪念和表彰 Isambard Kingdom Brunel 为土木工程界做出的贡献,ICE 自 1999 年开始举办

Brunel国际系列讲座。做为 ICE的主打讲座,在全世界多个国家均有举办。讲座内容包括工程

2016 年度第 9 届上海市工程师继续教育公益讲座预备会议

The preparation meeting of the 9th session of “Continue Engineers’ Learning Lecture of

Shanghai” (CELLS-9) was held on 15 December 2015 at ICE-SH office. Since 2008 this

program has been running for 8 years, jointly sponsored by ICE-SH, Shanghai Institution

of Engineers, Shanghai Pudong Science Association (PUSA) and Shanghai Jiao Tong University, and

operated by ICE China Training Center (ICE-CTC) and Shanghai Pudong Engineers’ Association

(PUEA). In the past eight years, winning several awards from the Shanghai Municipality, CELLS

charity lecture series has benefitted more than 12,000 attendants and received very positive social

responses.

2016年度第 9届上海市工程师继续教育公益讲座(CELLS-9)的预备会议于 12 月 15日在 ICE 上

海分会办公室举行。该讲座是由 2008年起已经持续举办了 8年。讲座由英国土木工程师学会上

海分会(ICE-SH)、上海工程师学会((SHIE)、上海浦东科协(PUSA)和上海交通大学联合发起,

英国土木工程师学会中国培训中心和上海浦东工程师协会(PUEA)组织承办, 在过去 8 年内,

CELLS 继续教育公益讲座多次获得上海市的奖励,使 12000 人次受益,并得到了极好的社会反

响。

The attendees for the preparation meeting include the representatives from ICE Shanghai Branch, ICE

China Training Center, Shanghai Committee of Science and technology, Shanghai Technical HR

Committee, Shanghai Pudong Engineer’s Association etc. The meeting analyzed the experience of

past CELLS sessions and has defined the topics of CEALLS-9 in 2016 as:

ICE Shanghai Branch Forms the Graduates Subgroup at Arup Shanghai

ICE 上海分会在 Arup 成立学生小组

Following the productive meeting with the Director, Michael Kwok, ICE-SH’s representative,

Professor Jian Yang, revisited Arup Shanghai on September 18, 2015, providing further deta ils and

plans for future collaborations between the two rganizations. One of the important initiatives is to

form the Graduate Subgroup at Arup Shanghai.

在与 Arup 董事郭家耀先生会面后,ICE 上海分会代表杨健教授 9 月 18 日回访了 Arup,为两个

机构日后的合作提供了细节和计划。其中一个重要的环节就是在 Arup 上海办事处成立 ICE 上

海分会的青年小组。

After receiving a warm welcome by Associate, Desmond Ho, Prof. Yang made an introduction to

ICE-SH and ICE-CTC and their major functions. The two parties then briefly discussed the topics

on “how to improve the regional branch’s service” and “how to engage branch members”. Arup

expressed their motivation to interact with other consultancy firms and contractors; Arup also

expressed that, with ICE-SH being a platform, they would like to share their leading innovation and

expertise in engineering fields with more colleagues from China. Many other positive feedbacks were

also received.

Arup 的 Desmond 对 ICE 的到访表示欢迎。杨健教授介绍了 ICE 上海分会和 ICE 中国培训中心

的功能,双方就“如何加强地区分会的服务”与“如何增进会员的联系”做了简单的讨论。Arup 提

出他们考虑与其他的顾问公司及承包商进行互动;同时 Arup 也表示,愿意在 ICE 上海分会这

个平台上与更多的同行分享他们工程方面的创新及专业知识。会上反馈良好。

Prof. Yang and Mr. Ho then discussed a major topic of this meeting on the establishment of the

Graduates subgroup at Arup Shanghai. ICE-SH aims to form 6-7 similar subgroups at various

companies representing differing activities across the industry in Shanghai. The representatives from

those sub-groups as well as the four student chapters will constitute a Young Members Panel (YMP).

The initiative of YMP is to engage student members, graduates and new-chartered members of ICE

from various universities and firms in organizing and attending activities and events on a regular basis.

It is believed that this will not only benefit individuals’ career development, but also be a natural

promotion for the industries. Moreover, YMP will encourage more young engineers from China to

join ICE. Being one of the world’s largest civil engineering organizations, ICE will help Chinese

engineers and industry to improve their competitiveness at both domestic and global scales. The idea

was highly appreciated by Mr. Ho and his colleagues at Arup Shanghai. As a result, two

representatives from Arup have been appointed to join the first YMP committee, which will be in

charge of the general operation of YMP.

杨教授及 Ho 先生讨论了此次会议的重要议题—在 Arup 上海办事处成立青年小组。ICE 上海分

会拟在上海行业内不同的公司就开展活动的类别成立 6、7 个类似的青年小组。这些公司内小组

的代表和四个学生分会的代表将组成青年会员委员会(YMP)。YMP 的成立旨在调动各高校的

学生会员、各公司的毕业生会员及 ICE 新进会员的积极性,定期组织并参与各类活动。这不仅

有益于拓宽个人的职业发展,对行业也能起到促进作用。YMP 也能吸引更多的年轻工程师加入

ICE。作为全球最大的土木工程师行业学会之一,ICE 将帮助中国工程师及行业在全球范围内提

升竞争力。Ho 先生及其 Arup 上海办事处的同事们对这一观点表示高度赞同。Arup 的两名代表

加入了首届 YMP 委员会,负责 YMP 日常的运作工作。

ICE-Tongji Enterprise Day: Explore Tishman Speyer

ICE 同济企业日:发现铁狮门

On 27 March 2015, ICE-Tongji had another Enterprise Day event “Explore Tishman Speyer”, which

was intended to build bridges between students and companies as well as providing students with

more insights of real estate enterprises.

2015年3月27日星期五,为了增进同学和企业的联系、加深同学对房地产公司的理解、丰富课余

生活,由ICE同济学生分会主办的“企业日——铁狮门房地产公司参观活动”正式进行。

Fifty students were organized by ICE-Tongji Chpater and headed to the headquarters of Tishman

Speyer (Shanghai). Three beautiful young ladies introduced the Tishman Speyer and the agenda to all

the students on the bus. When arrived at Tishman Headquarters, students were warmly welcomed by

company leaders.

中午12点40分,参与本次活动的50余名同学在ICE同济学生分会工作人员的带领下,带着满满的

期待,启程前往铁狮门上海公司的总部。在车上,来自铁狮门公司的员工,三位可爱的姐姐向

我们介绍了铁狮门公司的基本概况与今天活动的内容。13点30分左右,一行人到达了铁狮门公

司,受到了公司领导的热情欢迎。

After taking a tour of the company’s elegant and comfortable working environment, Micky, the

general manager, gave a presentation on business culture and development patterns of Tishman. He

mentioned that “happy building, happy people” is the basic operation principle of Tishman. As for

business, they build comfortable environment for people. While for internal affairs management, they

provide pleasant working environment for employees. And these are what make Tishman so

successful in business and attractive to elites.

进入公司,参观了铁狮门总部优雅、舒适的工作环境后,我们进入会议厅。在那里,铁狮门公

司的总经理Micky先生给我们做了关于铁狮门企业文化与发展模式的讲座,在讲话中他提到,铁

狮门“happy building,happy people”是这个公司的经营理念,在业务上,为人们建造舒适的房子;

内务管理上,为员工提供舒适的工作氛围,这是铁狮门成功发展并吸引大量人才的原因之一。

After his talk, management trainees from Tsinghua University introduced the current projects in

Chinese market, which reached several big cities and showed large scales and considerable speed.

Then students had their time to ask questions and the company leaders provided their views to these

questions separately so as to help students form deeper understanding of Tishman and the whole

industry.

讲座过后,来自清华大学的铁狮门管培生又向我们介绍了铁狮门在中国现有的项目:业务遍及

上海、成都以及深圳等多个城市,发展的规模与速度都很可观。之后进入提问环节,同学们踊

跃发言,涉及到了铁狮门与其他地产公司的区别、是否会上市以及招收实习生的具体要求等。

公司领导都耐心予以解答,让同学们进一步了解了铁狮门和整个房地产行业的情况。

In the late afternoon, company employees took students to visit the site project, which is located in the

foreshore of Lujiazui Area. Project manager on the construction site explained the construction

schedule to students and answered their questions as well. After visiting the construction site, students

went to the onsite office and listened to the manager’s talk on the blueprint of this future business

center.

讲座过后,在公司带领下,同学们参观了铁狮门与陆家嘴合作的位于前滩的工程现场。施工现

场的经理为我们讲解了工程的施工进度,回答了同学们现场的提问。参观过施工现场后,同学

们来到前滩的现场办公中心,聆听了铁狮门领导们对于整个前滩工程详细情况的讲解。面对着

未来的又一个商业中心,同学们纷纷提出了自己的设想与疑问,大家围在一起热烈的讨论。

The series of ICE-Tongji “Enterprise Day” is committed to build bridges between top-tier companies

and university students. It provides students with a great chance to communicate with enterprises. And

we will put more efforts to fulfill this vision even better.

ICE同济学生分会“企业日”系列活动一直秉承着联系企业,服务同学的传统,给同学们提供了

ICE-Tongji Participated in Netherlands-Asia Honors Summer School held by Arcadis

ICE 同济分会参加 Arcadis 举办的荷兰大学生夏令营活动

On 5 August 2015, ICE-Tongji was invited by Arcadis to join the Netherlands-Asia Honours Summer

School. Student representative, Chen Cheng, then president of ICE-Tongji Chapter, participated in this

event. Arcadis is a leading global natural and built asset design and consultancy firm working in

partnership with clients to deliver exceptional and sustainable outcomes through the application of

design, consultancy, engineering, project and management services.

2015 年 8 月 5 日,英国土木工程师学会(ICE)同济学生分会应 Arcadis 公司的邀请,参加了为期

一天的优秀荷兰交流生访问活动,分会理事长陈承参加了本次活动。Arcadis 是领先的全球自然

和建筑资产设计咨询公司,在设计、咨询、工程、项目管理服务方面为客户提供出色的、可持

续发展的建筑成果。

The event began with several lectures given by Arcadis leaders from different departments. Mr. PH

Lai, head of Greater China, introduced the operation condition of the company. And Ms. Wen Mei,

manager of environment and water department, delivered a talk on the commercial difference between

China and Europe, which impressed students from both countries. Managers from other departments

delivered their speeches separately and showed all-around business to all the students.

首先,分会代表与荷兰交流生共同聆听了 Arcadis 公司高层们的讲座,Mr. PH Lai 是 Arcadis 大

中华区总经理,向听众介绍了公司业务概况,Ms. Wen Mei 作为环境及水务市场经理介绍了中

国与欧洲商务环境的区别,此后各事业部总监对 Arcadis 业务线进行了介绍,讲座整体风趣,中

西结合的交流模式让听众难忘。

After the presentations by Arcadis managers, the ICE-Tongji representatives had lunch with Dutch

students as well as Arcadis employees and chatted with each other on topics like cultural difference.

They spent pleasant time together during lunch time. After that, led by Arcadis employees, all the

students toured the modern facilities of the new office and took photos together.

讲座后,分会代表与荷兰交流生、Arcadis 公司职员共进午餐,并畅谈两国文化的差异之处,增

进相互的了解,愉快地度过了午间的闲谈时间。之后,在 Arcadis 公司人力经理的带领下,参观

了新装修的 Arcadis 公司办事处,并合影留恋。

Then, Arcadis employees took students to an on-going project and explained the project management

to all the students. This was a well-known project under construction — IAPM mall. During the

interaction between Dutch and Chinese students, mutual understanding on the operation mode as well

as the value orientation of employees was improved. After the visit, students finished the wonderful

day and waved happy goodbyes.

合影后,前往 Arcadis 公司的项目现场进行参观,并就项目的开展进行了详细地讨论。参观的项

目是位于徐家汇的 IAPM 上海环贸广场,在分会代表和荷兰交流生的互动中,相互之间更加了

解对方国家的工程运作模式和从业人员的价值导向。参观完项目后,愉快的一天告一段落,两

国学生不舍告别。

Chen Cheng, the representative of ICE-Tongji Chapter, was deeply impressed by Dutch students’

fluent spoken English. He pointed out that Chinese students should put more efforts on practicing

English in order to participate in the global market.

分会代表陈承表示,荷兰同学的英语水准令人钦佩,中国土木学科的同学也应当努力锻炼外语,

以便未来走向国际市场!

ICE-Tongji Participated in 5th Shanghai Public Welfare Partners Day

ICE-Tongji参与第五届上海市公益伙伴日活动

On 31 October 2015, the 5th Shanghai Public Welfare Partners Day was successfully hosted. As

volunteers of Habitat for Humanity, members from ICE-Tongji Chapter participated in this event.

上周末,第五届上海市公益伙伴日成功举行。作为仁人家园的志愿者,ICE-Tongji的志愿者们

参与了此次公益伙伴日活动。

In the early morning, members from ICE-Tongji Chapter arrived at the event location – GONGYI

XINTIANDI (GYXTD), Huangpu District and started their work. They were mainly responsible for

the charity sale of Habitat for Humanity. Work area was divided into two pieces – one designed for

charity sale and the other one designed for interaction, which possessed the characteristic of Tongji

University. Since Habitat for Humanity is a non-profit organization that has been devoted to building

“simple, decent, and affordable” housing, members from ICE-Tongji exhibited architectural and

structural models collected from students in Tongji University in the interaction area. They also

conveyed specialist knowledge for people by using their knowledge attained in class.

周六一早,ICE-Tongji 的伙伴们就乘着地铁来到了本次公益伙伴日的活动地点—位于黄浦区的

公益新天地,开始了一天的工作。我们此次的工作主要是负责仁人家园的慈善义卖,我们将慈

善义卖的区域分为两块,一块是仁人家园慈善品的义卖区,另一块则是有着同济特色的互动区。

因为仁人家园是一个非牟利房屋事工组织,所以我们在互动区为前来参观的人们展示了从同学

中征集的建筑结构模型,并通过我们的所学为他们普及相关的专业知识。

The highlight of the day was the game that builds houses by using plasticine organized in the

interaction area. Everyone who came to take a visit could build a house with plasticine. Many children

as well as their parents took part in this game and built creative works by themselves, for example,

Fantasy Room of Princess, Cute Penguin House, and Beautiful Rainbow House.

这次活动最大的亮点无疑是在互动区开展的橡皮泥建房比赛,每一个来参观的人都可以用橡皮

泥搭建他们心中的房子。很多小朋友和家长参与了这项活动,一个个充满创造力的作品因此在

小朋友的手中诞生,有梦幻的公主屋,可爱的企鹅屋,还有美丽的彩虹屋等等。

Children took charge and created their desired houses. Parents supported the charity sales based on the

idea of Habitat for Humanity. Volunteers from ICE-Tongji Chapter worked hard to fulfill this event

with fun and accomplishment.

小朋友们动手创造出了自己心中的房屋,大人们在了解仁人家园理念的基础上支持义卖,

ICE-Tongji的志愿者们辛苦工作,一整天的义卖活动充满了乐趣,也充满了收获。

ICE 同济高层讲座——城市桥梁美学创作

ICE-Tongji Chapter Senior Report – “Aesthetic Design of Urban Bridges”

On 2 December 2015, Tongji Student Chapter of ICE held a seminar themed “Aesthetic Design of

Urban Bridges”. ICE-Tongji Chapter invited Mr. Xu Liping, the chief engineer of Bridge Design

Institute of Tongji Architectural Design (Group) Co., Ltd. (TJAD), to be the keynote speaker. Mr Xu

is also a senior engineer at the professor grade as well as the postgraduate tutor in Tongji University.

2015年 12月 2日晚,由英国土木工程师学会同济学生分会(以下简称 ICE)举办的主题为“城

市桥梁美学创作”的高层讲座如期举办。此次高层讲座邀请到同济大学建筑设计研究院桥梁设

计院总工程师徐利平,徐总工同时也是同济大学教授级高级工程师、硕士研究生导师。

Mr Xu began his talk with the current situation of urban bridges from home and abroad. He held the

view that the lack of aesthetics was mainly caused by the short construction duration and poor art

skills of bridge engineers. To overcome this problem, the lecturer suggested we should learn from the

academician Xiang Haifan and put the idea of “Learn art and drawing” into practice.

徐利平总工程师首先就国内外城市桥梁发展现状,指出国内桥梁与国际桥梁发展的差距。国内

桥梁建设工期短,桥梁工程师美术功底普遍较低、缺乏专门的训练,因此,许多国内桥梁缺乏

美感。针对不足之处,主讲人建议向项海帆等桥梁专家学习,落实“学一点艺术、学一点美术”

的理念。

Then, Mr. Xu pointed out a specific detail of urban bridge design and discussed with students on how

to create fine art. The lecturer mentioned that bridge engineers should possess both mechanical

thinking at the graduate level and drawing skills at the primary student level. This statement not only

made all the students laugh and clap, but also plunged everyone deeply in thought. It was urgent to

enhance current bridge engineers’ ability in aesthetics. Moreover, several projects cases in which the

chief engineer participated himself are introduced to describe how he applied the idea of aesthetics

into bridge designs. And one of the bridges he designed showed the fusion of bridge, environment and

culture. All the students were impressed with the aesthetics in this masterpiece. In the last, members

from ICE-Tongji presented an gift to Mr Xu and the seminar came to a successful end.

随后,徐利平总工程师就城市桥梁设计中某一细节,和学生一同探讨如何进行美学创作。主讲

人指出桥梁工程师应具备研究生水平的力学思维和小学生水平的素描基础,同学们发出阵阵笑

声,也引发人们深思:当今桥梁工程师对美学的理解亟待加强。此外,主讲人也介绍了亲身参

与的工程,讲述了他是如何在设计桥梁时考虑美学的,其中一拱桥结合当地书墨文化,与环境、

人文完美融合,体现了设计师的创意,大家对其中美学赞叹不已。最后,工作人员送上 ICE 精

心准备的礼物,此次高层讲座圆满结束!

全球最高最大的迪士尼城堡

The Enchanted Storybook Castle is located in the core area of the Shanghai Disneyland Theme Park.

The total height is 69.28 metres and the total area reached 10532 square metres. It is the tallest, the

largest and the most interactive castle not only in the Shanghai Disneyland theme park, but also in the

all six Disneyland castles around the globe. It is certainly the most attractive landmark structure in the

Shanghai Disneyland theme park.

上海迪士尼乐园“奇幻童话城堡”坐落于园区的核心地带,城堡总高度 69.28 米,建筑面积达

10532 平方米。它不仅是上海迪士尼乐园中的最高建筑,也是世界上最高、规模最大和最具互

动性的迪士尼城堡,它将成为上海迪士尼乐园中最引人注目的地标。

The Enchanted Storybook Castle was constructed by SCG. The construction began in May 2013 and

completed in May 2015 with a total construction period of 2 years. The centre of the castle is a

fascinating, up-climbing staircase that leads people into a fantasy journey of fairy tales. Behind this

magnificent design, it was SCG’s commitment with their craftsmanship, technology innovation and

standard for perfection. The mixture of intelligence and dedication can be observed in every detail

such as the off-site construction of the tower body & top, the complex design of the special space

structure, the utilization of BIM technology, the repeated experiments on a vast amount of test

specimens, the carving and the assembly of GRC components and the detailed theme plaster with a

standard of perfection.

“奇幻童话城堡”由上海建工集团承建,2013年 5月破土动工,2015年 5月顺利封顶,历时两

年建成。城堡的中心是一座令人叹为观止、蜿蜒而上的阶梯,引领游客开启一段“漫游童话时

光”的神奇旅程。在宏伟的奇思妙想的背后,是上海建工以工匠精神、创新技术和完美精湛标

准一步步的倾力构筑。从塔身结构到塔尖吊装,从各种特殊空间结构复杂的深化设计、BIM 技

术的运用、到大量巨型小样反复试验力臻完美,从 GRC 构件雕琢拼装,到主题抹灰的细节完美

呈现,处处融汇了智慧与用心。
