CNN CHILE, Santiago, Chile (April 2008-July2009)

First 24/7News Network in Chile (owned by Liberty Media and Turner Broadcasting International) / Launch Team and Executive Member -Director of Technology & Operations (promoted from my previous job at VTR Globalcom):

Responsible for the technical launch in five months. Some of the tasks included: facilities construction, systems integration, negotiations with vendors and telecom services providers, uplink, contracts, hiring technical and operations personnel, training of more than 120 people, supervision of satellite trucks construction in US factory, elaboration and implementation of Standard Operations Procedures.

VTR, Santiago, Chile (January 2007 – March 2008)

Largest Cable Operator in Chile Owned by Liberty Media -Manager of Special Projects for the VP of Product and Client Satisfaction that included news channels, technical improvements for local sports channel, new multimedia production center, infomercial channel and the launch of the first HD channel in the country.

CHILEVISION , Santiago, Chile (January 2005 - 2007)

-Manager of Digital Projects Responsible for developing new initiatives to improve production workflows for all the network divisions: entertainment, sales, news, and telefilms, including the following responsibilities:

Changing the entire ENG equipment from DVCam to Panasonic P2

Automation on ingest, editing, graphics, mam, playout and archive systems.

Introduction in Latin America of Avid Instinct (application that incorporates editing, nrcs and search tools)

Construction of a new production center that included: control room, edit rooms, media ingest and equipment center.

Elaboration of PDD (Production Description Processes) and RFP documents

Acquisition and contractual processes with vendors

Coordination with architects, acoustic engineers, construction, air conditioning and systems engineer the execution and completion of the Project in 45 days.

Budget and expenses control

Coordination and evaluation for the training of more than 120 employees

Manage and Implement a tapeless workflow for the Entertainment Division.

-Consultant for this national network which has more than 8 hours of news programming a day. The consultancy covered a full assessment of the current operations, workflows and infrastructure in order

to set the ground for a new technology platform that would renew the entire news division. The most important achievements of these projects were:

First time in this market that a network changes its entire newsgathering, production and archive infrastructure from top to bottom in such short period of time.

Chilevision became the first network whose new production centre is 100% tapeless and digital.

Chilevision became the first network in using P2 technology.

Training and implementation of the news project in 45 days.

Stations: New York City, Rochester, Austin, Albany, Syracuse, Charlotte, Raleigh, Tampa, Orlando, Houston and San Antonio.

Responsible for overseeing the operations of TWC news channels

Create and develop initiatives that could improve news channels operations

Project Manager for news channels expansions (including control room, studios and master control transmissions) and consolidations of regional operations or hubs.

Coordinate the launch process, as project manager, of all 6 new stations between 2002 and 2003 in Raleigh, Charlotte, Albany (NY), Houston, San Antonio, and Syracuse (NY).

Coordinate the implementation of training plans for all the operations personnel

Evaluate and select automation systems, production systems and field acquisition for news production for the launch of news channels in the top 20 markets where Time Warner owned and operated cable system. Between 2002 and 2003, Time Warner launched 6 stations in Raleigh, Charlotte, Albany, Houston, San Antonio, and Syracuse becoming the most aggressive plan ever implemented in the business.

Design Production and Transmission Areas for all the news channels

Create, coordinate and implement the training plan and documentation with more than 9 vendors to prepare more than 480 people in 7 stations in less than 14 months

Manage a multimillion acquisition of ENG and production from SONY for each news channel

Develop automated processes for traffic and weather reports for all the stations
