PROFESSIONAL EXPERIENCE

Synthesis and characterization of different nanoparticles, nanocomposites (2008-2010)

o Synthesis of gold, silver, titanium oxide nanoparticle using chemical methods like sol-gel method.

o The nanoparticles where characterized using UV-Vis spectroscopy, X-ray diffraction, Scanning

electron microscopy.

o TiO2 nanoparticles were dispersed in polyethelyene matrix and characterized using FT- IR

spectroscopy, X-ray diffraction and Scanning Electron Microscopy.

o Designing of a photoreactor and studying the effect of light source on the photocatalytic degradation

TiO2 polyethylene films.

o The photodegradation was studied using weight loss analysis, Scanning Electron Microscopy

Development of biomaterial for adsorption of pollutants from wastewater (2011-2015)

o Chitosan–lignin composites with enhanced surface and chemical properties were developed.

o Activation energy studies using KAS method.

o Adsorption of Remazol Brilliant Blue R and Cr(VI) was studied.

Catalytic conversion of lignin (biomass) using thermochemical and Photochemical reaction (2011-2015)

o Synthesis and characterization of semiconductor catalyst like TiO2, ZrO2, CeO2. Characterization

using X-ray diffraction, ATR-FTIR/FTIR Spectrometer, UV-Vis Spectrophotometer.

o Thermal Studies carried out in pyrolyzer GC-MS.

o Photocatalytic studies carried out in photo-reactor and product identification using MALDI-TOF and GC-MS

techniques.
