1. Get an application form from the Wales YFC website, by phoning the Wales YFC

Centre or through your county federation.

2. Complete the application form before the closing date:

4. Attend interview and selection day at Wales YFC centre

Genhedlaeth Wledig Nesaf” ac yn croesawu ffrindiau o Loegr, Macra, Yr Alban, Ulster a Chymru.

Wales YFC is delighted to host the first ever Summit, with the title “Inspiring The Next Rural

Generation” and warmly welcomes friends from England, Macra, Scotland, Ulster and Wales.

Get inspired by creative entrepreneurship and innovative farming and reflect on their personal

Pob blwyddyn mae criw o ffermwyr ifanc o dramor yn dod draw i Gymru am bythefnos ym mis

Gorffennaf. Mae pob Sir yn gwesteio un aelod, o bob cwr o’r byd, ac mae’n gyfle gwych i chi westeion

a dangos ein gwlad arbennig i bobl o dramor. Does dim angen i chi westeio am y bythefnos i gyd -

mae CFfI Cymru yn rhoi lloches iddynt dros y Sioe beth bynnag - bydd unrhyw beth o ddau

ddiwrnod i wythnos yn grêt. Dyma gyfle i chi ddysgu’r unigolion sut mae ffermio yn digwydd yng

Nghymru, dangos eich rhyfeddodau lleol a dysgu mwy amdanyn nhw hefyd. Bydd manylion am

gyfleoedd gwesteio yn dod gan eich Siroedd, ond yn y cyfamser, os ydych yn awyddus i westeio,

cysylltwch â Miriam yn swyddfa CFfI Cymru!

Every year, a group of international delegates come over to Wales for a fortnight in July. Every

County hosts one member, from different parts of the workd, and it’s a great oppertuinity for you to

host and show our amazing country to others from around the world. You don’t have to host for the

whole of the two weeks – Wales YFC hosts during Show Week anyway – and anything from two days

to a week would be great. This is a great opportunity for you to teach these individuals about our

farming methods here in Wales, show our amazing local landmarks and learn more about them and

their country as well. Details about hosting opportunities will be circulated by your counties, but in the

meantime, if you are keen to host, please contact Miriam at the Wales YFC office!

So, you’ve decided to go for it, but what are the next steps?

1. Choose which trip you’d like to go on (It’s hard to choose sometimes, but remember that you

can apply for more than one, but you can only go on one)

2. Complete the application form (available on the website and from your county office)

3. Remember to get your county office to sign the form as well

4. Send the form to the Wales Office before the 26th of October

5. Prepare for the Selection Day (1st of November)

a. Dress smartly

b. Do your homework! Research your country and Wales YFC

c. Why the panel should choose you? Give them a reason to!

6. Opportunities are scarce and very competitive; so come to the interview having planned

beforehand what you’re going to say, and make the most of every opportunity to show the

panel why you would be the best member to go on the trip!

Gareth Raw Rees Memorial Scholarship

The Gareth Raw Rees Scholarship offers fantastic opportunities for young people to travel

and learn from farming methods in other parts of the world.

Applications are invited from anyone wishing to extend their agricultural knowledge

through the Wales YFC international programme, YFC Discovery programme or a self-

organised trip to any part of the World.
