About Puerto Vallarta: • PV is different from other beach resorts in Mexico. Tour-ism is a major economic activ-ity, however, PV was a thriving Mexican town long before it became an international tour-ist destination. • There is archaeological evi-dence of continuous human habitation from 580 BC, and there is archeological evi-dence that it was a major cul-tural center from 900 to 1200. The city was formally estab-lished in 1851. • PVis a modern city that has somehow managed to main-tain its unique Old Mexico charm, unlike so many of the other more glitzy resorts. • In many areas of Puerto Val-larta you will feel like you are taking a step back in time. Many of the crafts are made by local Indians who have been producing their wares using the same methods for hundreds of years. • PV is a destination because of the climate, scenery, tropical beaches, and its history.

About Mendoza. • Mendoza is on the eastern side
of the Andes, in a region of spectacular scenery, surrounded by foothills and high plains. • The rivers, valleys and moun-
tains of Mendoza are ideal natu-
ral settings for the practice of sports during both winter (skiing) and summer (adventure tour-ism). • The city has a population of
115,000+ and the Metro Area
has over 1,000,000 people. • Two of the main industries of
the Cuyo region are olive oil and wine production. The area around Greater Mendoza is the largest wine producing area in
all of Latin America. • The city was founded in 1561,
but suffered a severe earth-quake in 1861. It was rebuilt, incorporating innovative urban designs featuring large squares
and wider streets and sidewalks than any other city in Argentina. • A very diverse region, wine
production and the exploitation of hard commodities such as oil
and uranium ensure Mendoza's status as a key regional center.
Personal Expenses, such as soft drinks,
snacks, magazines, etc. are never included in the
