GOD LOVES US NO MATTER HOW GREAT OUR SINS ARE In the post Easter Gospel, our attention is easily attracted by the doubting Thomas who represents us in many ways. But what really should surprise us is that Jesus came back to the friends who had denied him and deserted him during the biggest crisis in his life. Amazingly instead of shaming them, all what Jesus said to them was "Peace be with you". It was like saying, "It's okay... you are still my dear friends...your friendship still means a lot to me...don't feel so bad about what happened...I understand...I forgive...It's okay." The eleven must have felt a big sigh of relief and a humble repentant joy that continues to resound today in our midst. "Peace be with You" is still the Easter greeting of Jesus to you, to me and to all sinners. And perhaps, what you and I could say to Jesus every time this happens is what Thomas said to him, "My Lord and My God!" and THANK YOU JESUS FOR YOUR DIVINE MERCY!" This weekend we are celebrating the Feast of the Divine Mercy. This devotion has a beautiful story. In 1930, 88 years ago, a devotion began spreading from the diary of a young Polish nun. This message has always been taught by the Church through the Bible and Apostolic tradition: that God is merciful and forgiving and that we, too, must show mercy and forgiveness. But in the Divine Mercy devotion, the message takes on a powerful new focus, calling people to a deeper understanding that God's love is unlimited and available to everyone - especially the greatest sinners. St. Margaret Mary Alacoque of France had already introduced us to this love in the devotion to the Sacred Heart. But just as the Sacred Heart points to the source of this love, the Di-vine Mercy describes the action flowing from that heart. These two devotions are like the two sides of the coin. St. Faustina Kowalska, an uneducated Polish nun, in obedience to her spiritual director, wrote a diary of about 600 pages recording the revelations she received about God's mercy. God loves - all of us- no matter how great our sins are. His mercy is greater than our sins, and we are to call upon Him with trust, receive His mercy, and let it flow through us to others, so all will share His joy. The Divine Mercy A-B-C is : A - ASK FOR HIS MERCY. God wants us to ap-proach Him in prayer constantly, repenting of our sins and asking Him to pour His mercy out upon us and the world. B - BE MERCIFUL. Receiving His mercy we let His love and forgiveness flow through us to others. C - COM-PLETELY TRUST IN JESUS. The graces of His mercy are dependent upon our trust. The more we trust in Jesus, the more we will receive. Thus we see that prayer at the bottom of the image "JESUS I TRUST IN YOU ". HAP-PY FEAST DAY TO ALL WHO ARE DEVOTED TO THE DIVINE MERCY!! Fr. Oscar D. Tabujara, Pastor

P. Oscar D. Tabujara, Pastor
