Operating Manual for Self Feed Drill Unit
Firstly thank you very much for buying a Jin-Shaa product
Please read the instructions carefully and follow the same to get life
long maintainence free product life.
Knowing the machine
Our drill unit is a automatic drilling machine using compressed air for
feed and three phase electric power for rotating the cutting tool
Mounting the machine
On the base of the machine 8 holes are provided of 8mm dia ( as shown
in attached sketch) the corner 4 diagonal ones are dowel holes the
other 4 are mounting holes.
The unit has to be securely mounted on to a plate or table with dowel
location and clamping via bolts.
Starting the machine
1) Connect a three phase supply to the motor starter after
connecting check direction ,direction should be anticlockwise
when looking from the front(drill chuck side)

Connect 6kg/cm2 clean filtered air to the air connection you will
need a 8mm od flexible air hose to connect from air source to
machine
3)Connect a 220v single phase supply via a three pin ( supplied)
Operation of the Machine
After all the above reqd are completed the machine operation is as
below
1) Press motor start switch to On
2) Press green colour cycle start switch
3) after this machine will move forward in rapid till it touched the
feed regulator on touching regulator machine will slow down
feed speed depending on the reading on the regulator.Machine
will continue to move forward till the cam dog actuates the
limit switch On actuating the limit switch the machine will now
move back to parking postion in rapid
Adjusting the stroke of the machine
A limit switch is provided with the machine which changes direction of
the feed movement
A small cam dog actuates the limit switch this cam dog can be moved
forward and back for adjusting the stroke a sof now the dog has been
set for max stroke .Please carefully adjust the stroke of the machine
.
Adjusting the feed speed of the machine
This machine is equipped with a state of the art feed regulator as
shown
The function of this regulator is to slow/ adjust feed as per drill size
and material the machine comes with a regulator of stroke 30mm so
30mm is the regulated stroke of the machine.
Setting the feed regulator
There are two settings in the feed regulator
1)length setting
2) Feed speed setting

The feed regulator body can be moved back and forth in such way that
The machine can move in rapid mode 1mm away from the component
to be drilled after touching the regulator will damp the rapid mode and
then the machine will move in feed depending on the load setting ,
For moving the regulator back and forth the mounting aluminium
bracket has to be lossened by lossening the nut(spanner size 10mm)
Feed speed Setting
The regulator has a graduated scale at the back as shown set the same
as per desired feed initially keep it at the highest(30 on the scale) this
will help in setting even the return limit switch cam As you get familiar
with the speed start reducing the setting on the regulator.Important
point is that the regulator can be adjusted only when the machine is in
the rear parking position it will not adjust when the machine is moving
forward.
Speed of the machine
4 nos V belt pulleys are provide for the same belt size A 28 varous
speeds available are 640Rpm 1220Rpm 2250Rpm 3450Rpm The
machine is now supplied with the pulley setting on 2250RPm as would
be ideal for Aluminium drilling of dia 6.5mm( as conveyed to us by you)
Changing the speed
Remove the back end sheet metal cover by removing 4 nos allen screws
allen key size 5
Loosen the 4 nos allen bolts allen key size 6 on the motor change the
pulley position pull motor upwards and tighten the 4 nos motor screws
fit cover back on again.
Chuck tightening procedure
The machine comes with a keyless drill capable of holding straight
shank drills from 3 mm to 10mm .
The knurling portion on the drill chuck is used to tighten loosen the
same if in case the chuck does not tighten use the procedure as shown
in photo

It is herby certified that the Self Feed DrIll Machine manufactured by us
is tested to perform as per our design and quality systems and has been
found to be working satisfactorily. It is warrantied for a period of 1 year
from the date of shipment against any manufacturing defect subject to
the fact that it is not used in a proper manner , used beyond the design
limits of the machine . Subject to excessive loads ( electrical as well as
physical )
