Si Se Puede is the story of the L.A. Janitor strike. Told from the point of a young boy, Carlitos, this story articulates the struggle of families in Los Angeles who are barely able to make ends meet on the low wages that many janitors receive. As Carlitos’ family participates in the strike, the young boy learns the importance of standing up for what he believes in. After the janitors finally convince their employers to increase their pay, Carlitos’ family is able to make ends meet and live more comfortably. Carlitos’ mother even decides to help other workers fight for their right to a living wage. The following questions are aligned with CCSS standards for literature for grades 2-4. Si Se Puede es el cuento la huelga de los limpiadores en Los Ángeles. Contado del punto de vista de un joven , Carlitos, este cuento articula la lucha de las familias en Los Ángeles quienes pelean para pagar las necesidades en el salario pequeño que ganan los limpiadores. Mientras la familia de Carlitos participa en la huelga, el joven aprende la importancia de defender lo que cree.
