The paper is concerned with the problem of written adoption of foreign neologisms (loanwords) in the present-day situation of active interlingual interaction. The heart of the problem is the pluralism of linguistic factors affecting the formation of orthographic norm for the borrowings, which underlies the spreading of numerous versions. Shown by several examples is the influence of the source language and the manifestation of modern trends in the process during which a word acquires its constant graphic form. It is suggested that the traditional attitude to the imperative orthographic norm and ordering in written forms must be changed.

Keywords: foreign borrowing, orthography, norm, variability, writing trends.

Morphological systems usually are relatively unaffected by language contact. In the case of contact among genealogically related languages, however, even morpho-logical structures can be subject to borrowing. This applies also to the mixed speech which has evolved on the territories of Belarus and Ukraine: they conflate Russian and

  • Belarusian / Ukrainian linguistic traits in still unsteady language structures. The usage of morphological structures in the mixed speech is determined by 1) sociolinguistic criteria, which above all work in favour of Russian language forms, and 2) constellations of morphological regularity and markedness, which prefer the spread of the more regu-lar structures, if several distinct morphological structures co-occur. A corpus-based analysis of the usage of 3-rd person personal pronouns and demon strative pronouns in the Belarusian-Russian and Ukrainian-Russian mixed speech demon strates the effects of the two mentioned strategies for contact-induced inflectional change.

Keywords: mixed speech, genealogically related languages, contact-induced in-flectional change, pronominal inflection, morphological regularity.

An article is dedicated to the comparison of two novels by famous Russian Odes-sa Zionist and writer Vladimir Jabotinsky and Russian classic Maxim Gorky. The author compares The Five by Jabotinsky and The Three (1900) by Gorky and shows that Jabot-inskys novel published in 1936 continued few main motives from the early Gorkys novel and in such situation The Five presents the serious and even finished episode in the long time dialog of two writers.

Keywords: Jabotinsky, Gorky, The Five, The Three, comparison.

Notional plan of the Pale Horse (1909), first novel of Boris Savinkov (V. Ropshin, 18791925), as literary attempt to observe ethical side of the problem of ideological murder through question of its permissibility, i.e. its moral justification in the name of idea, is perceived through ethical and philosophical standing of the novels hero George. He is dominantly defined by his utter nihilism and congruent egotism which cause, by author opinion, catastrophic consequences for the society and for a hero him-self. Objective of this paper is to research nihilistic poetics conveyed in Russian culture at the beginning of XX century by vulgarisation of Nietzsches positions, to recognize echoes of said poetics in the novel and to point out clearly defined authors attitude towards nihilistic concept of personality as presented in the hero of the novel.

Keywords: SavinkovRopshin, Pale Horse, nihilistic poetic, Nietzsche, Russian culture and literature of XX century.

The article discusses the early poetry of Vladimir Narbut focusing on the perception of his first book of poems Stikhi (1910) by contemporary literary critics (Piast, Gumilev, Gorodetskii, Brusov, etc.). Narbuts literary debut was not immediately associated with any particular literary movement, but through eclecticism of Stikhi his predominant interest to the modern literary schools resurfaced. That did not go unnoticed by review-ers. In addition to this, the critics point of view on Stikhi was mediated by their own literary opinions and visions on the possible future direction of Narbuts poetics.

Keywords: literary debut, publications in periodicals, first book, critical reception, poetics.

The research of Russian avant-garde art in the context of the creative opus of Stanislav Vinaver sheds light, on the one hand, on the reception of the Russian artistic experiment in this cultural stage of the 1920s and, on the other hand, on poetic simi-larities of Serbian and Russian avant-garde art. Vinaver continually wrote on Russian avant-garde with exceptional erudition and hermeneutic skill, in an inspired and sug-gestive way, with a sophisticated sense for all that is innovative, radical and revolution-ary. Furthermore, he built his own aesthetic principles and creative experience (both in translation and poetry) by corresponding to Russian avant-garde poetics. In order to illustrate typological similarities (and further investigate the proposed topics) the paper proposes principles for the comparative view of the creative opus of Stanislav Vinaver and Velimir Hlebnjikov.

STANISLAV VINAVER AND RUSSIAN AVANT-GARDE ART

    Summary

The subject of the paper are Stanislav Vinavers essays and articles on Russian avant-garde art, which are particularly interesting and significant. By analysing them, the image of Vinaver as comparatist (both methodologically and thematically) become deeper. Their anal-ysis is a contribution to the study of reception of Russian art experiment in the Serbian cul-tural scene during the 1920s. Perhaps most importantly, Vinavers texts (essays and poetry) enlighten the poetic correspondence between Russian and Serbian avant-garde literature, which is the anchor spot of this paper. His own aesthetic principles and creative experience (poetry and translating) was shaped in accordance with Russian avant-garde poetics. Moreover, this paper shows parallels between creative projects of Stanislav Vinaver and Velimir Hlebnikov.

The paper analyzes ambiguous relationships between the allegorical and fantastic in the novel The Sacred Book of the Werewolf by Victor Pelevin as well as the narrative strategies that simultaneously represent an asset of the authentification of the fictional world and the means of undermining it. In this manner Pelevin constructs a form of the fantastic that no longer rests on the decision to reject allegorical reading or the indeter-mination between the natural and the supernatural explanation, but on the indetermina-tion between the allegorical and literal interpretation and between the acceptance of the performative force of the utterance and its ironic denial.

5 Pelevin discovered the artistic potential of the shape-shifter (oboroten) motif long ago, though not without the promptings of western mass culture.1 The shape-shifter is a metaphor for postmodern (and post-Soviet) identity, forever oscillating between opposite states, entwined in a single personality and leading to internal as well as external conflicts. Liza Novikova rightly remarks that the motif of the shape-shifter belongs to a series of leitmotifs running through all of Pelevins works: Nearly all characters in Pelevins works were similar shape-shifters: he turns Komsomol workers into hard currency prostitutes and the heroes of The Life of Insects into mosquitoes and flies. In SKO he sculpts solely shape-shifters. Werewolves from central Russia have already attracted the attention of the writer once before (Lipovetsky 2011: 235).

7 O , , , , , : The first thing to note is that fantasy does not simply realize a desire in a hallucinatory way: rather, its func-tion is similar to that of Kantian transcendental schematism: a fantasy constitutes our desire, provides its co-ordinates; that is, it literaly teaches us how to desire. The role of fantasy is thus in a way analogous to that of the ill-fated pineral gland in Descartes philosophy, this mediator between res cognitas res extensa: fantasy mediates between the formal symbolic structure and the positivity of the objects we encounter in reality that is to say, it provides a schema according to which certain positive objects in reality can function as objects of desire, filling in the empty places opened up by the formal symbolic structure. To put it in somewhat simplified terms: fantasy does not mean that when I desire a strawberry cake and cannot get it in reality, I fantasize about eating it; the problem is, tather: how do I know that I desire a strawberry cake in the first place? 11 ( ), - ( ), (mpire V). - , : It designates the condition of culture on the border between a conventional conception of identity and history and a still mysterious future in which the old modernist conception of zhiznetvorchestvo, life-creation or creation-in-life, becomes accessible to every individual in a much more comprehensive way than it was to the avant-garde of the 19101920s. One possible reaction to this situation, taken to the limits of its logic, is the recognition of all identities as self-created, contingent, and therefore constructed. All possible reactions to the new culture, however, seem to leave unanswered the question of the status of the postmodern subject in this reign of phantasmatic egos (McCausland 2006: 167).
