SLD single-suction multi-stage sectional-type centrif-
ugal Pump is used to transport the pure water containing
no solid grains and the liquid with both physical and che-
mical natures similar to those of pure water, the tempera-
ture of the liquid is not over 80 ,suitble for water supply
and drainage in mines, factories and cities.

CALCULATION OF THE ERECTION HEIGHT
The erection height of the pump, that is the vertical
distance from the sucked liquid surface to the pump sh-
aft should be less than it which should be taken into con-
sideration for users to select the pump, is calculated per
the following formula:
Hsz Ha-Hv - Hs-(NPSH)r
Of which:
Hsz--the erection height set with the pump(m)
Ha-- the head of the atmospheric pressure under
the conditions on the spot of use(m)
Hv--the head of the vapourized pressure under the
temperature of the liquid being pumped(m)
Hs--the lost head of the suck-in pipeline(m)
(NPSH)r--the necessary value of NPSH given in the
table of performance parameters(m)

DESCRIPTIONOF STRUCTURE
SLD
SLD
Model SLD pump consists of four parts, stator, rotor,
be ari ng an d sha ft se al:
consists of the inlet, middle and outlet sections1.Stator
and the guide vane etc., With the take-up bolt tightly cl-
amping all sections to form a working room. The inlet of
it stands horizontally while the outlet vertically upward.
consists of the shaft, impeller, balancing disk 2.Rotor
and muff etc., The shaft passes the power to the impeller
to have it work; the balancing disk balances the axial force;
and replaceable muff is mounted on both sides of the shaft
to protect it.
There are rolling and sliding bearings:3.bearing
The rolling bearing consists of bearing seat, bearing
and bearing gland and uses grease for lubrication.
Th e slid in g b e a rin g c o n sists o f b e a rin g b o d y a n d
cover, liner, dust-proof disk, oil leveller, oil through wing
ring etc., and uses thinned oil for lubrication.
The shaft is sealed with stuffing and4.shaft sealing
the shaft seal consists of the sealing contents, stuffing, b-
affle, the liquid in the sealing work-room functions water
sealing, watercooling and water lubricating and the water
for water-sealing comes from the pressure water inside of
the pump.

ERECTION OF THE PUMP
1. Preparations before erection:
(1) The pump's basis must be enough strong, the mass
of which should be approximately 3-5 times that of the unit.
(2) Check both pump and motor to see if there is any
loss of the pump's parts and any damages during transpor-
tation.
(3) Make ready the tools and lifting machinery.
2. Sequence of erection:
(1) Place steel pad and wedge under the foundation.
Ho o k th e fo u r a n g le s o f th e fo u n d a tio n with th e liftin g
hooks to lift it on the ground and then slowly place it on
the position with each bolt hole aimed at.
(2) Level up the foundation, tighten the foot bolts and
pou r slurry ont o th e foo t.
(3 ) Ad ju st e q u ip me n ts. Th e re sh o u ld b e a n in te rv a l
between both pump and clutch of the motor and axes of both
pump and motor sho uld be coincided. For the two clu tch es,
the evenness of the end-face intervals of both can be mea-
sured with a feeler, the allowed tolerance of which is 0.06mm,
a n d th e in te rv a ls b e twe e n th e ru le rs, wh ic h a re u se d to
measure in every direction along with the circumferences
of both, on the surfaces of both excircles have an allowed
tolerance of 0.08mm, use the adjusting pad to adust in case
of unconformity.
(4) Link both inlet and outlet pipelines and both vacu-
umometer and piezometer at both inlet and outlet Sections.
(5) For the pump of model SLD18-8, SLD34-12, SLD
54-16 and SLD101-25, please lead the balancing water with
a flexible pipe to the inlet pipeline or directly drain it into
the sewer. Absolutely prohibit the balancing water hole from
bei ng blo cke d up with a woo d cor k etc.obj ect s.

START, RUN AND STOPOF THE PUMP
Start:
(1) Check if the oil level of the bearing is normal be-
fore start in case of the the thinned oil lubrication.
(2) Check if the rotary direction of the motor is correct

to see if the moving part of it is flexible

and, in case of sliding bearing, move the pump 5-10
minutes or fill 10-20ml oil into the oil hole on the upper
to have the bearing uniformly lubricated.

(5) Before start, pour water into the pump or extract
the air inside of it and close the gate valve on the outlet
pi pe li ne an d th e pi ez om et er 's pl ug , th en ge t th ro ug h th e
ciroulated cooling water pipeline of the sliding bearing.
(6 ) Afte r sta rt, o p e n th e p ie z o me te r 's p lu g a n d th e
vacuumomenter's as well, and gradualy open the gate valve
to wait till the pointer of the piezometer pointing at the
desired position.
Run:
(1 ) Pa y a tte n tio n to th e te mp e ra tu re o f th e p u mp 's
be ar in g af ter it is st ar ted , the av er ag e te mp er at ur e ri se
s ho ul d n ot be ov er 30 a nd th e m ax im um on e 7 5 .
(2) Often fill oil during its running.
(3 ) 1 0 -2 0 d ro p s p e r min u te is ta k e n a s th e n o rma l
leakage of water for the stuffing room, otherwise, the st-
uffing gland has to be adjusted.
(4) Periodically check the clutch.
(5) Stop running at once in case of a failure during it
and carry out service according to the troubleshooting table.
Stop:Slowly close both gate valve and piezometer's plug
on the outlet pipeline and the plug of the vacuumometer
on the inlet one, then cut off the power of the motor and,

1. Maintenance:(1) Check if the pump's foundation, pump and motor
are tightened.
(2) Check the status of the lead-wires of the meters
and if the pipeline leaks or is loose.
(3) Replace the lubricating oil of the bearing.
(4) Periodically check the performance and running
status of the pump and make a detailed record, carry out
service at once if case of a problem.

1) Preparations before removal:
(1) Drain the liquid inside of the pump out.
(2) Remove the attached pipelines affecting the re-
moval.
2) Steps of removal:
(1 ) Sc re w o u t th e b o lt o n th e b e a rin g g la n d o n th e
outlet side and the link-nuts among the outlet section, stu-
ffing content and bearing body to remove the latter, screw
out the screws on the bearing gland, dust-proof disk and
bea ring cov er in cas e of the slidi ng bea ring to re mov e th e
gland, cover and both upper and lower liners then screw
out the nuts among the bearing body, stuffing content and
outlet section on the outlet side to remove the former.
(2) Screw out the round nut on the shaft, remove the beari ng's inner ring, bearing gland and baffle sleev e in turn,
then remove the stuffing content (including the stuffing
gland stuffing ring, stuffing etc.).
(3) Remove the O-ring of seal, muff, balancing disk
and pin in turn, then remove the outlet section (including
the final-stage guide vane and balancing sleeve).
(4) Remove the final-stage impeller and pin, then the
middle section(including the guide vane). Go on removing
the impellers, middle sections and guide vanes of the left
each stage with the same way till the first-stage impeller's
removal.
(5) Screw out the link-nuts between the inlet section
a n d th e b e a rin g b o d y a n d th e b o lt o n th e b e a rin g g la n d ,
then remove the bearing part(before this, first remove the
pum p's clutch) .
(6) Take the shaft out of the inlet section and screw
out the fixing nuts on it, then remove the bearing's inner
ring, O-ring of seal, muff, baffle sleeve etc.in turn.
The removal has been basically finished at that time,
however, there are some parts still connected with each
other then, which are convenient to be removed generally
ju st by sc rew in g out th e li nk- nut or bol t.
To assemble it is to take the reversd sequences to re-
move in general, when to assemble the sliding earing, both
liner and shaft should be paired and scraped and it is re-
quired there are over 7 points per square inch on the liner,
the interval between the liner and the upper shaft should
be 0.1 5-0 .18 mm and of the sin gle sid e on sid es 0.0 75-0.0 9
mm.

content heated. Impeller frictions. water
increases from the pump.
Too big flow and resistance on suction
pipeline. Too big height of water suction,
air penetrates into suction pipeline.Too
high temperature with the liquid being
transported.
Axes of both pump and motor not
coincide.
Pour more water into it, tighten bolt or plug
on leaking places.
Check or replace foot valve, clean or replace
suction pipeline, lower the height.
Clean and check bearing and inject proper
lubricating oil, aim both axes, dredge cooling
water pipeline, repair the liner.
Check or shorten outlet pipeline, change the
direction. Make up the path. Increase the rot
ary number to the designed value.
Make up pump and pipeline. Replace seal-ring.
Increase rotary number.
Adjust the gland, replace stuffing. Adjust gate
valve on outlet pipeline or increase the resi-
stance on outlet pipeline.
Lower the flow. Check suction piepline and foot
valve, lower the height. Tighten bolt or plug
on the penetrated place. Lower the temper-
ature.
Check and correct the intervals between the
circle and end-face on the clutches of both
pump and motor.
