Διαγωνισμός και έκθεση Αφίσας με θέμα «Τα Αδέσποτα Ζώα» Poster Design Competition and Exhibition, on the subject of “Stray Animals”

Με αφορμή την Παγκόσμια Ημέρα Αδέσποτων Ζώων, στις 4 Απριλίου, το Toolkit Startup 2014 (1η Συνάντηση Νέων Γραφιστών) που ορ-γανώθηκε στο πλαίσιο του «Made in Thessaloniki #3» της Parallaxi, με τη συνεργα-σία του Οργανισμού «Θεσσα-λονίκη – Ευρωπαϊκή Πρω-τεύουσα Νεολαίας 2014», προκήρυξε διαγωνισμό σχε-διασμού αφίσας που απευθυ-νόταν σε σπουδαστές Δημό-

σιων και Ιδιωτικών Σχολών Γραφιστικής της Ελλάδας. Ο διαγωνισμός ήταν υπό την αιγίδα της Ένωσης Γραφιστών Ελλάδας

Inspired by World Stray Animals Day on April 4th, the organizers of Toolkit Startup 2014 (1st Meeting of Young Graphic Designers) which was held within the framework of “Made in Thessaloniki

#3” by Parallaxi, with the collaboration of the Organization “Thessaloniki – European Youth Capital 2014”, held a poster design competition open to students attending both public and private Graphic Design Schools in Greece. The competition was under the aegis of the Greek Graphic Designers Association.

Η Παγκόσμια Ημέρα Αδέσπο-των Ζώων καθιερώθηκε με πρωτοβουλία των ολλανδι-κών φιλοζωικών οργανώ-σεων το 2010, με σκοπό την ευαισθητοποίηση της διε-θνούς κοινότητας σχετικά με την τύχη των 600 εκατομμυ-ρίων αδέσποτων ζώων που υπολογίζεται ότι διαβιούν υπό άθλιες συνθήκες στον πλανήτη. Οι φιλοζωικές ορ-γανώσεις καλούν τον καθένα μας να υιοθετήσει ένα ζώο ή να συνδράμει με προγράμ-ματα και καμπάνιες για την προστασία τους.Η 4η Απριλίου επιλέχθηκε ως Παγκόσμια Ημέρα Αδέσποτων Ζώων . Ένα αδέσποτο ζώο ζει κατά μέσο όρο από 2 έως 4 χρό-νια, την στιγμή που ο μέσος όρος ζωής ενός σκύλου είναι από 10 έως 15 χρόνια! Αυτά τα λίγα χρόνια ζωής που περνά στους δρόμους, συνήθως συνοδεύονται από πείνα, κρύο, μοναξιά, κακου-

χίες, αρρώστιες, ατυχήματα, βασανισμό και πολύ πόνο.Οι σπουδαστές / μαθητές έπρεπε να οπτικοποιήσουν την άποψη τους για την προστασία και την ανάληψη δράσης για τα αδέσποτα ζώα. Στόχος τους ήταν η ευαισθη-τοποίηση του κοινού, έτσι ώστε να εξαλειφθούν οι εικό-νες ντροπής που καθημερινά αντικρίζουμε στους δρόμους των πόλεών μας.

World Stray Animals Day was established in 2010 by an initiative of Dutch animal welfare groups, for the purpose of raising awareness in the international community regarding the plight of the 600 million stray animals estimated to be living under abject conditions all around the world. Animal welfare groups invite each and every one of us to adopt a stray animal, or

to contribute to programs and campaigns for their protection. April 4th was selected as World Stray Animals Day. A stray animal has an average life expectancy of 2 to 4 years when, by comparison, the normal average life expectancy of a dog is between 10 and 15 years! These few years of life spent on the streets are usually accompanied by hunger, cold, loneliness, hardship, disease, accidents, torture, and pain. The participants were asked to visualize their point of view for the protection and action for stray animals. The posters’ purpose was to raise awareness in the general public, in order to eliminate the despicable images that we witness daily on the streets of our cities.

• 15-30 Μαΐου, στο Goethe-Institut Thessaloniki κατά την διάρκεια της Toolkit Startup ExpoWorkshops

• 1 Ιουνίου, στο Πεδίο Δρά-σης Κόδρα στη Θεσσαλο-νίκη κατά τη διάρκεια της εκδήλωσης «Υιοθετήστε ένα Ζωάκι» του ραδιοφωνικού σταθμού Republic 100.3

Out of all the posters submitted, the committee selected the 33 most distinguished designs, of which the poster submitted by Nikos Kouirouklis, entitled “Heart”, was judged the best. All the distinguished posters were exhibited to the public in Thessaloniki, as follows: •April 5-30, in the

Glass Pavilion of the Municipality of Thessaloniki situated on the city’s boardwalk, within the framework of Toolkit Startup 2014

•May 15-30, at the Goethe-Institut Thessaloniki, within the framework of Toolkit Startup ExpoWorkshops

• June 1, at the Kodra Action Field in Thessaloniki, within the framework of the “Adopt a Pet” event organized by Republic 100.3 radio station
