MUSIC THEORY AND PEDAGOGY PROFILE DESCRIPTION

Students graduated from this study curriculum acquire knowledge and skills of teaching music education and music culture, working with choirs and orchestras in elementary and secondary schools, teaching theory of music, solfeggio, harmony, polyphony and conducting in elementary and secondary music schools, working with amateur children’s, female and mixed youth and senior choirs and orchestras.

In the course of the studies the student is obliged to successfully complete all compulsory courses of the study curricula and to choose and successfully complete 22 optional courses from the list offered by the Faculty of Music - Skopje and 8 optional courses from the list offered by the “Ss Cyril and Methodius” University in Skopje.

Prior to the beginning of each academic year the Faculty’s Academic, Teaching and Artistic Council makes a separate decision on the conditions for enrollment in each optional course.

The total number of ECTS credits that the student can enroll in for one semester is regulated by the Regulations Act on the Conditions, Criteria and Rules for Enrollment and Studying in the first and second cycle of university studies.

CONDITIONS FOR ADMISSION IN THE MODULES

After successfully finishing the fourth semester of the study curriculum the student can enroll in one of the offered modules.

The decission about the number of students who can enroll in this module is made by the Faculty’s Board of the Dean, after consulting the course teacher.

THE CONDITIONS FOR ADMISSION IN MODULES are the following:

Approval for enrollment from the course teacher

Minimum 80 ECTS credits obtained from the music theory and pedagogy study curriculum

Having passed the admission exam

After obtaining the approval of the course teacher, the student submits a written application for enrollment to the Faculty’s Board of the Dean. The application is submitted after the end of the June Examination Term, for the next academic year..

After the receipt of the application, the Faculty’s Board of the Dean schedules an examination of candidates’ knowledge and skills and appoints an examination board of three members. The course teacher is a member of this board.

The admission examination is realized at the latest 15 days prior to the beginning of the winter semester. The examination requirements are regulated by the act of the Scientific, Teaching and Artistic Council regulating the admission exams.

The examined knowledge is assessed by points. The maximum number of points is 15 (fifteen), and the minimum is 5 (five).

The student that enrolls in one of the modules is obliged to choose and successfully complete the optional courses from the list of the proper module.

In the course of the studies the student is obliged to successfully complete all compulsory courses of the study curricula and to choose and successfully complete 22 optional courses from the list offered by the Faculty of Music - Skopje and 8 optional courses from the list offered by the “Ss Cyril and Methodius” University in Skopje.

Prior to the beginning of each academic year the Faculty’s Academic, Teaching and Artistic Council makes a separate decision on the conditions for enrollment in each optional course.

The total number of ECTS credits that the student can enroll in for one semester is regulated by the Regulations Act on the Conditions, Criteria and Rules for Enrollment and Studying in the first and second cycle of university studies.

Prior to the beginning of each academic year the Faculty’s Academic, Teaching and Artistic Council makes a separate decision on the conditions for enrollment in each optional course.

In the course of the studies the student is obliged to successfully complete all compulsory courses of the study curricula and to choose and successfully complete 24 optional courses from the list offered by the Faculty of Music - Skopje and 8 optional courses from the list offered by the “Ss Cyril and Methodius” University in Skopje.

Prior to the beginning of each academic year the Faculty’s Academic, Teaching and Artistic Council makes a separate decision on the conditions for enrollment in each optional course.

The total number of ECTS credits that the student can enroll in for one semester is regulated by the Regulations Act on the Conditions, Criteria and Rules for Enrollment and Studying in the first and second cycle of university studies

BALLET PEDAGOGY – CONTEMPORARY DANCE

PROFILE DESCRIPTION

Students graduated from this study curriculum acquire knowledge and skills of teaching in primary and secondary ballet schools, teaching in high ballet educational institutions, teaching in pre-school institutions, teaching methodology of contemporary dance, composition of modern dance, composition of contemporary dance and popular dances in primary and secondary schools, as well as training performers in national ballet institutions, theatres and professional and amateur groups.
