Chile puede considerar diferentes posibilidades: 1. Utilizar la posición de Chile en la Unión Internacional de Telecomunicaciones a
74.9°Oeste - Ventajas: está directamente accesible - Desventajas: cobertura solo sobre el territorio nacional, limitaciones en
frecuencias/servicios/potencia (antenas terrestres de 5,5 y 2,7 metros), …
2. Desarrollar la posición pedida por Chile a 102°Oeste - Ventajas: posición soberana con frecuencias y características más adecuadas - Desventajas: requiere tiempo para negociar la posición con incertitudes en el resultado
3. Utilizar una posición que pertenece a un tercero a través de un acuerdo - Ventajas: está directamente accesible y con características adecuadas - Desventajas: un satélite compartido El acuerdo puede ser de forma de un satélite-compartido o de una carga útil hospedada
