Poletni postanek na Ptuju vas bo očaral. Najstarejše slovensko
mesto je prepleteno z bogato dediščino, kulturo in izjemno
festivalsko produkcijo. Med tisočletnimi spomeniki in stoletnimi
stavbami se rojevajo kreativni festivali sodobne umetnosti, glasbe,
poezije in vina.
Ptuj je zelena destinacija. Sprehodite se ob zelenih nabrežjih
reke Drave in Ptujskega jezera, osvežite v termalnih vodah ali pa
skočite na kolo. Če ste posebej drzni, potem vstopite v ptujsko
zgodovino na rimskih ali grajskih igrah.
Kratek ali daljši postanek, sploh ni pomembno. Prepustite se
obredom lokalcev, ki se prepuščajo poletnemu soncu na terasah
številnih kavarn v starem mestnem jedru ali pa se kulinarično
razvajajo ob vrhunskih ptujskih vinih.
A summer visit to Ptuj is sure to captivate you. The oldest
Slovenian city offers an abundance of heritage, culture, and
excellent festivals. Contemporary art, music, poetry, and wine
festivals have been born among millennia-old monuments and
centuries-old buildings.
Ptuj is a green destination. Take a stroll along the green banks
of the Drava River and Lake Ptuj, take a refreshing dip in the
thermal waters, or set off to explore by bike. If you feel
especially adventurous, explore the history of Ptuj through Roman
or castle games.
Come for a short trip or a long stay; you won’t be disappointed.
Do what locals do and enjoy the summer sun outside the countless
cafés in the old city center or treat yourself to some of the
delicious local food and wines.

Marmornati spomenik so postavili v spomin Marku Valeriju Veru,
ki je mestu Poetovio županoval v
drugem stoletju. Pet metrov visok monolit še danes stoji na
mestu, kamor so ga postavili Rimljani. To je najstarejši javni
spomenik v Sloveniji, ohranjen na svojem prvotnem mestu. V srednjem
veku so
spomenik, ki ga krasijo prizori iz Orfejeve zgodbe, uporabljali
kot sramotilni steber. Danes je Orfejev
spomenik ponos in simbol mesta.
This marble monument was erected to honor the memory of Marcus
Valerius Verus, who was the mayor of Poetovio (Ptuj) in the 2nd
century AD.
The five-meter monolith is still standing where it was raised by
the Romans. This is the oldest public
monument in Slovenia preserved in its original place. In the
middle ages the monument, ornamented with
scenes from the myth of Orpheus, was used as a pillory. Today it
is the pride and symbol of the city.

Dišalo bo po pristnih slovenskih dobrotah. Dobrote slovenskih
kmetij na ogled postavijo izdelke, s katerimi se ponašajo slovenske
kmetije. Tukaj je pot od rodovitne zemlje do brbončic najkrajša,
izdelki pa so prava paša za oči. V sedemindvajsetih letih
kulinaričnega festivala je bilo podeljenih več kot 15.000 priznanj.
Pred nami so trije dnevi kulinarike v prečudovitem Minoritskem
samostanu na Ptuju. Ne zamudite priložnosti za kulinarično
razvajanje v najstarejšem slovenskem mestu. Osrednja tema letošnjih
Dobrot je Pomurje.
The smell of traditional Slovenian delicacies will be filling
the air. Specialties of Slovene Farms is an event where Slovenian
farmers can present the products they are most proud of. This is
the shortest path from fertile soil to your taste buds, and the
products are also a pleasure to look at. Over the past 27 years,
more than 15,000 recognitions have been awarded at this culinary
festival.
We can look forward to three days of pure culinary pleasure in
the gorgeous surroundings of the Ptuj Minorite Monastery. Do not
miss this opportunity and indulge in the delicious foods Slovenia’s
oldest city has to offer. This year’s main festival theme will be
the region of Pomurje.

Salon Sauvignon: Wine in the Millennial City is an international
festival that brings premium Sauvignon wines and exquisite foods
from all over the world to the cultural and historical monuments of
Ptuj and its surroundings. It is the only festival in the world
dedicated only to Sauvignon.
Of all grape varieties, Sauvignon is the one that suits Ptuj the
most, with its youthfulness and maturity, openness, and
mysteriousness. Just like the city itself, which builds up its
vitality from the cultural creativity based on stories of a
millennial history.
This year’s festival will also feature the Master Tasting with
Frank Smulders, Master of Wine. The festival will mark the
centenary of the Zlata trta 1917 (Golden Vine 1917), the oldest
Slovenian vintage wine kept by the Ptuj Wine Cellar.

V čolnu, na kolesu ali peš ... doživite reko Dravo od spusta po
reki s čolni, kolesarjenja po Dravski kolesarski poti, vodenih
sprehodov na brežinah do kulinaričnih pokušin dobrot iz okoliških
krajev.
In a boat, on a bike, or even by foot ... experience the Drava
River by paddling down its stream or cycling along the Drava
Cycling Route, through guided walking tours on its banks, or by
tasting the delicacies in surrounding towns and villages.
Izziv za ljublitelje teka v eni najbolj simpatičnih kulis v
Sloveniji. Tekači se pomerijo na 5,7 km in 9,5 km dolgi trasi po
ulicah Ptuja. Tek se uvršča v Štajersko-koroški rekreativni tekaški
pokal.
A challenge for all running enthusiasts in one of the most
charming settings in Slovenia: runners will compete on 5.7 or 9.5
km trails through the streets of Ptuj. The run is part of the
Štajerska–Koroška recreational run cup.

Povsem drži, da Ptuj obdajata dva izjemna vinorodna okoliša in
da se tukaj rojevajo vrhunska vina, a je tudi znan po najboljšem
pubu. Misija lastnika je pivo spremeniti v gumanski užitek in

It is true that Ptuj is surrounded by two regions producing
outstanding wines, but it is also famous as the home of the best
beer pub. The owner’s mission is to turn beer drinking into a
gourmet experience, and beer lovers can select from over 100
hundred different beers here. The pub also frequently hosts
concerts and culinary events on its patio.

magnificent Ptuj Castle, with a program that will last until
midnight.

the Croatian Museum of Ancient Glass in Zadar

You can also visit Museum’s other exhibitions in the Ptuj
Castle: the Collection of Traditional Carnival Masks, Collection of

Festival Art Stays spada med najpomembnejše predstavitve
sodobne, predvsem likovne umetnosti v Sloveniji in v tem delu
Evrope. Vse od leta 2003 prinaša produkcijo domačih in tujih
umetnikov, od najbolj znanih do najperspektivnejših. Do danes je
festival gostil preko 600 umetnikov, med njimi velika imena sodobne

Petnajsta edicija največjega slovenskega festivala sodobne
vizualne umetnosti Art Stays, letos poimenovana Natur-al(l), se bo

posledicami človeškega malomarnega ravnanja z njo in s črno
prihodnjostjo, ki nas morebiti čaka za naslednjim vogalom.
Art Stays is one of the most important festivals of contemporary
visual art in Slovenia and this part of Europe. It has been
showcasing works of renowned and up and coming Slovenian and
foreign artists since 2003. So far, the festival has hosted over

The festival will fill the squares and buildings of the old city
center with works of top artists creating in a variety of media:
painting, sculpturing, photography, installations, video,
performance, and music. It will be accompanied by film screenings
in interesting locations, and contemporary art workshops (Art Stays
Summer Academy). This year’s edition will feature over 100
artists.
The festival will also present an interesting selection of
Slovenian and foreign masters of bio cuisine and wine making.

Mednarodni glasbeni festival Arsana je v zadnjih letih prerasel
v enega najbolj prepoznavnih, žanrsko raznolikih glasbenih
festivalov v tem delu Evrope, ki vsako leto na več kot 60 dogodkih
gosti preko 300 umetnikov in privabi blizu 20.000 obiskovalcev. Z
eminentnimi izvajalci mednarodne glasbene scene je najstarejše
mesto zapisal na svetovni glasbeni zemljevid. Vrhunska klasična,
jazz, etno, world instrumentalna in vokalna glasba, za vse

The festival’s concerts are accompanied by a variety of events,
such as the International vocal jazz camp New York Voices. The
city’s lively atmosphere during the festival is further uplifted by
an international dance academy, street musicians, a youth vocal
camp, a children’s festival, art therapy camp, round tables,
culinary nights, travelogues, and much more.

Over the years, the Arsana music festival has grown into one of
the best known music festivals in the region offering a diverse
selection of genres. Every year it features over 60 events and
hosts over 300 artists performing for some 20,000 visitors. Its
program with distinguished international artists put Ptuj on the
global music map. The finest classical, jazz, world, instrumental,
and vocal music acts for all generations and tastes will resonate
between the arcades of the Ptuj Minorite Monastery courtyard, in

Dominikanski samostan je leta 1230 ustanovila Matilda, vdova
Friderika III. Ptujskega, deloval pa je do razpustitve v letu 1785.
Samostanski kompleks nosi gotsko in baročno podobo. V zadnjih letih
prenovljeni prostori so prizorišče kulturnih dogodkov in
festivalov. Samostan je odprt za oglede od aprila do oktobra.
The Dominican monastery was established in 1230 by Methildis,
the widow of Friedrich III of Ptuj, and it was active until its
dissolution in 1785. The monastery complex is built in Gothic and
Baroque style. The recently renovated monastery is the venue of
several cultural events and festivals. It is open to visitors
between April and October.

Two thousand-year old Roman stories from the greatest period of
Slovenia’s oldest city will be brought back to life at Ptuj. The
Roman Games X will celebrate the 1948th anniversary of that fateful
encounter in Poetovio, where Marcus Antonius Primus addressed the
Roman generals and persuaded them to support Vespasian for the
emperor. Roman Poetovio will be occupied by gladiators, Roman
soldiers, senators, Vestal Virgins, and other representatives of
Ancient Rome.

Knjižnica Ivana Potrča, ki domuje v stavbi Malega gradu, sodi
med najlepše javne knjižnice v Sloveniji in Evropi. S pestrostjo
vsebin privablja vse generacije obiskovalcev, odlikuje pa se tudi
kot varuhinja številnih knjižnih dragocenosti, ki segajo vse do 15.
stoletja. To poletje ne ponujajo le poletnega branja, ampak tudi
številne zanimive dogodke.

Najstarejši festival narodno-zabavne glasbe v Sloveniji bo znova
prinesel dva imenitna festivalska večera. Festival igra pomembno
vlogo v razvoju slovenske kulture in spodbuja kakovostno rast
narodno-zabavne glasbe v Sloveniji.
Najboljši ansambli s seboj ponesejo nagrade strokovne komisije –
kipec Orfeja in nagrado občinstva.
The oldest Slovenian festival of oberkrainer music will once
again serve up two outstanding festival nights. This festival has
played an essential role in the development of the Slovenian
culture, and has promoted the development of the genre.
Performers compete for an award conferred by a jury – a
statuette of Orpheus – and the people’s choice award.

Zgodovinsko dejstvo, da je Ptuj mesto kave z bogato kavarniško
in pražarsko tradicijo, je služilo kot navdih za organizacijo
prvega festivala kave in kavarniške kulture v Sloveniji v letu
2015. Tretja izvedba festivala ostaja zvesta svojim postulatom, saj
bo povezovala zgodovinske, kulturne, družbene ter kulinarične
elemente kave in se z zanimivimi dogodki ter ponudbo pridružila
Mednarodnemu dnevu kave, ki ga obeležujemo 1. oktobra. Festival bo
gostil pražarje, ponudnike in dobavitelje kave ter kavnih napitkov,
bariste z zadnjimi nasveti za pripravo priljubljenega napitka, ob
tem pa ponudil zanimiva strokovna predavanja in kulturno-družabne
dogodke za vse generacije. Ne pozabimo, 1. oktober je Mednarodni
dan kave.
It is a historical fact that Ptuj has a long tradition of cafés
and coffee roasting, which is what inspired us to organize the
first Festival of Coffee and Café Culture in Slovenia in 2015.
Festival’s third edition will remain faithful to its original
principles, and will bring together historical, cultural, social,
and culinary elements of coffee to celebrate the International
Coffee Day, marked on 1 October. The festival will host roasters,
coffee providers and suppliers, and baristas, who will share the
latest tips on how to make the perfect cup of this popular
beverage. It will also feature lectures and cultural and social
events for all generations. And don’t forget, 1 October is
International Coffee Day.
