A comparative study between the responses of delinquent and

non-delinquent Adolescents on Szondi projective test.

    Summarized of research

Introduction: Absence of Szondi projective test from minds of researchers

and specialists of both psychology and psychiatry in Iraq and Arab

homeland although it was applied by psychologists and psychiatrists in

different countries. Besides the photographs of the test e!ecute two

conditions of projective test first" they could e!posure to inner self of

individual who chooses these photos. Second" the individual don#t a ware

    that he do that.

$hat increases the importance and originality of the current research is itsunique loo% to the phenomenon of adolescents# delinquencies. It loo%s on it

from an angle which has not been tried by any other researcher and that

was in order to find out the reasons lur%ing behind the delinquencies or

those that lead to them. As for that angle it reveals that the motives behind

the phenomenon in the researcher#s sample is due to the hereditary genes

considered by Szondi as being not only the main directional force for

human behavior but is responsible for determining his fate. &hat's

represented in eight constituting factors" h (homose!ual) s (sadism) e

(epilepsy) hy (hysteria) % (catatonia) p (paranoia) d (depressive) and m(manic).

Aim of study: Comparison   between the responses of delinquent

adolescents and non*delinquents on Szondi +rojective &est by drawing

profiles representing the responses of both groups and finding differences

between responses of the two groups.

ethods: $as prepared Szondi projective test in its forty*eight forms.

,!traction the truth and consistency for the test by performing the test on a

sample of delinquent adolescents (murderesses) against the same age and

se! quotas of non*delinquents. &he researcher used a suitable statistical

method in accordance with the nature of the research which was the (-ai

Square) to find the differences between the two groups.

!esults of the !esearch: Indication differences appeared between the

responses of the two groups in all factors e!ceptionally factor (e). &he

researcher e!plained all the results especially factor (e). &he researcher

found out that the delinquents discharged the aggression charged by

committing a crime. As for non*delinquents they were in a state of

sublimation. &he researcher came up with the most important conclusion.

&hat was the results of the research helps in verifying the assumption that

clarifies the following" &he testing pictures of psychiatric patients truly

transfers some of the %ey psychological characters of individuals during

their responses in test situations in a way that is psychologically validity.

!ecommendations" /irect measures must be ta%en in order to better the

economic and financial sides of the environment that prevents the

upbringing of adolescents correctly. 0rom another point of view these

measures would stop the commitment of any delinquent behavior caused by their financial needs. So the adolescents would be directed to satisfy his

motivation needs * which may result in committing any %ind of

delinquencies * through performing fruitful beneficial activities for himself

    and those surrounding him.

Su""estions: &he research brought out number of problems that should be

a reason for future researches. &he most important" Implementing the test

on delinquents who have committed other crimes other than murder in

order to do comparison between their responses with the results of the

current research especially the responses of the sample in the factors (e)and (s) which represent the aggressive motives of the individual in order to

support the validity of the test.
