Further action is regularly being taken in line with the mission ofSwachchha Bharat Abhivan. The fund designated is used in CSR.

Higher capacity tippers of 55 ton gross load are being used for coal transportation from mine to Bhatgaon Railway Sidine. No extra OB dump is created but 08 is being backfilled within the coal excavated area within the mine lease. Crushers at the CHP of adequate capacity for the expansion project shall be operated with high efficiency bag filters, water sprinkling system shall be provided to check fugitive emissions from crushing operation, conveyor system, haulaee roads, transfer ooints etc. Drills should be wet operated.

Project authorities shall undertake regular repairing and tarring of roads used for mineral transportation. A 3-tier green belt comprising of a mix of native species shall be developed all along the major approach roads. Controlled blasting shall be practiced with use of delay detonators and only during daytime. The mitigative measures for control of ground vibration and to arrest the fly rocks and the boulders shall be implemented.

A progressive afforestation plan s}lall be implemented covering an area of 162.605 ha at the end of mining, which includes Reclaimed External OB Dump Area (12.50 Ha), Internal OB dump area(150.105 Ha) and green belt (6.0 Ha) and in township located outside the lease by planting native species in consultation with the local DFO / Agriculture Deoartment. Proposal for Preparation for final mine closure plan has been approved from SECL Hq . and is under preparation at CMPDI.

The company has a well laid down Environmental Policy. The Area is headed by an Area Nodal Officer (Envt), reporting to company General Manager (Envt) who further reports to Director Technical (P&P) of the company. In addition all units have one Nodal Officers (Envt) reporting to the Area Nodal Officer. CIL Corporate Environmental Policy has been approved in 3771h CIL Board meeting on 20 Dec 2018, reference no - CIL:XI (D):04112:2019:22442. The policy is applicable for all mines of CIL and is available on the website ofCIL ~ww .coalindia.in The hierarchical system of Administrative Order of the company exists to deal with environmental issues and for ensuring compliance with the environmental clearance conditions. The area has an environmental cell. Inter area inspection of EC conditions is being done and the report is submitted to higher level through GM (Envt).

The quality of environment due to outsourcing and the health and safety issues of the outsourced manpower should be addressed by the company while outsourcing.

The tippers are allowed through online checking system for which recording of PUC in hardcopy is not necessary. Loaded vehicles are allowed to leave mine barrier after covering with tarpaulin. Monitoring of environmental quality parameters is being carried out through establishment of adequate number monitoring and analysis equipment. All persons working in the mine premises are being provided with protective respiratory devices / dust mask and they shall also be provided with adequate training and information on safety and health aspects. Occupational health surveillance program of the worker are undertaken periodically to observe any contraction due to exposure to dust and to take corrective measures, and records maintained thereof. The compliance status of the stipulated environmental clearance conditions shall also be uploaded by the project authorities on their website and updated at least once every six months so as to bring the same in public domain. The monitoring data of environmental quality parameter (air, water, noise and soil) and critical pollutant such as PMt0,PM2.s, SO2and NO, ( ambient) and critical sectoral parameters shall also be displayed at the entrance of the project premises and mine office and in corporate office and on company's website. The project proponent shall subinit six monthly compliance reports on status of compliance of the stipulated environmental clearance conditions (both in hard copy and e-mail) to the respective Regional Office of the Ministry, respective zonal Office of CPCB and the SPCB. The Regional Office of the ministry located in the Region shall monitor compliance of the stipulated conditions. The project authorities shall extend full cooperation to the office (s) of the Regional Office by furnishing the requisite data / information / monitoring reports.

I The environmental statement for each fi nancial year ending 31 March Form - V is mandated to be submitted by the project proponent for the concerned State Pollution Control Board as prescribed under the Environment (Protection) Rules 1986, as amended subsequently, shall also be uploaded on the company's website along with the status of compliance of EC conditions and shall be sent to respective Regional Offices of the MoEF& CC be e-mail.

8. The proponent is required to obtain all necessary clearances / approvals that may be required before the start of the project. The Ministry or any other competent authority may stipulate any further condition for environmental orotection.

11. Concealing factual data or submission of fa lse / fabricated data and failure to comply with any of the conditions mentioned above may result in withdrawal of this clearance and attract action under the provisions of Envi ronment (Protection) Act 1086.

12. The above conditions will be enforced inter-alia, under the provisions of the Water (Prevention and Control of Pollution) Act 1974, The Air (Prevention and Control of Pollution) Act 1981 , The Environment (Protection) Act 1986, and The Public Liabil ity Insurance Act 1991 along with their amendments and Rules and any other orders passed by Hon'ble Supreme Court of India/ High Courts and any other Court of Law relating to subject matter. The Proponent shall ensure to undertake and_ provide for the cost incurred for taking up remedial measures in case of soil contamination, contamination of ground water and surface water, and occupational and other dieses due to mining operations.

13. Any appeal against this environmental clearance shall lie with the National Green Tribunal, if preferred, within a period of 30 days as prescribed under section 16 of the National Green Tribunal Act 20 I 0.

14. This EC supersedes the earlier EC, vide letter no J-11005/209/20061A.ll(M) dated 22 .10.2007 for 1.00 MTPA.
