Past and present

Founded in 1992, Tecnomatic SA initially specia-lized in machining, thanks to the international experience of its founder. During its 20-plus years of activity, Tecnomatic has progressively expan-ded the range of its services, which now include electronic components assembly, and, with the purchase of Morplast SA in 2001, injection molding of thermoplastic materials. The two companies collaborate closely in order to offer tailored pro-ducts and services to their costumers.

A consolidated benchmark in machining and electronic components assembly, Tecnomatic is the ideal partner for toll manufacturing. Its modern machines ensure extended flexibility in terms of assembly lines, and are suitable for any type of machining. The processes are made simple and intuitive in order to obtain immediate response capability. Tecnomatic uses a modern management solution (SAP Bu-siness One) in order to maintain full control over business processes, and to implement production in relation to new market demands.

Morplast specializes in injection molding of thermoplastics materials and in the production of both small and large technical parts. It offers solutions for the industry in general, and specifically for the automotive, household appliance and medical sectors. During more than 20 years of activity, Morplast has perfected its ability to assist customers in all development phases of new thermoplastic com-ponents: from product concept, co-design and material selection to assembly and delivery, Morplast always proves to be a trustworthy partner.

Thanks to the flexibility of their production processes and their synergic work, Tecnomatic and Morplast are now active in the electronic, electro-mechanical and mechanical field, and count many clients in the automotive, industrial, and medical appliance sectors.

Realization of mechanical parts and precision mechanics

The production of mechanical parts has been Tecnomatic’s core activity since its foundation. It is carried out mainly on specific requests from third parties: Tecnomatic designs and realizes specific parts based on the indications and technical drawings supplied by the customer, offering assistance in the development of all details and in the choice of materials. Flexibility is key in this process: the group is able to adapt to new technologies and to comply with costumers’ requirements, which are constantly evolving.

Assembly of electro-mechanical components and SMD/THT

Although the group mainly executes assembly of components for third parties, it also develops new products, from design to testing. The assembly is done by electro-mechanical engineers, in-house or, in case of special needs, by external specialists. The goal is to produce tailored products for any specific use identified by the cu-stomer, providing certifications and professional documentation after a thorough testing and calibration phase. SMD/THT, which are widely used in a vast range of products, are one of the leading products of the group.

Injection molding of thermoplastic materials

Injection molding of thermoplastic components and semifinished products is Morplast’s main activity. The company takes care of the entire production process, from planning to design, from production to delivery. Thanks to the flexibility of its production processes, Morplast is able to achieve, in close cooperation with the customer, tailored technical details from small to large sizes, with presses which feature a tonnage range of 35 to 250. This type of activity, developed after mechanics and assembly, is highly complementary and allows the group to operate synergistically, increasing control over production and optimizing both costs and production times.

EXAMPLE OF APPLICATION

Assembly of a electro-mechanical measurement cable

For customers active in different fields, from automotive to industrial machines production, the group is fully able to assemble micro-components supplied by the customer, on the basis of given scheme, specifications, and priorities. As seen in the example shown here, the assembly covers every stage of production, from small components (the bearing assembly and the coil, which is then inserted into the tube and mounted on the cable) to the realization of the full product (mounting of the socket and composition of the cable, cut to size). Subsequently, each product undergoes a phase of testing and calibration: each product is marked with a serial number and delivered to the customer together with a specific protocol sheet that lists the values found during calibration.

EXAMPLE OF APPLICATION

Molding of thermoplastic components and assembly of a locking device

Especially for automotive industry, we realize the molding of medium and small thermoplastic components based on the design and specifications provided by the customer. In this example, Morplast deals with the production of box, cover, gear wheel, rack, head and cable housing; Tecnomatic later assembles the reali-zed thermoplastic components and the supplied electro-mechanical components, from the initial phase to the composition of the complete device. The assembly phase is followed by a phase of control, automated testing, and suitability certification. Thanks to close cooperation and synergies between Tecnomatic and Morplast, it is possible to cut down the costs of implementation (totally eliminating the cost of semifinished products logistics) as well as the delivery times.
