TheStoryabouttheFalcon

OncetherewasakingwhoreceivedagiftoftwomagnificentfalconsfromArabia.Theywereperegrinefalcons,themostbeautifulbirdshehadeverseen.Hegavethepreciousbirdstohisheadfalconertobetrained.

Monthspassedandonedaytheheadfalconerinformedthekingthatthoughoneofthefalconswasflyingmajestically,soaringhighinthesky,theotherbirdhadnotmovedfromitsbranchsincethedayithadarrived.

Thekingsummonedhealersandsorcerersfromallthelandtotendtothefalcon,butnoonecouldmakethebirdfly.

Hepresentedthetasktothememberofhiscourt,butthenextday,thekingsawthroughthepalacewindowthatthebirdhadstillnotmovedfromitsperch.

Havingtriedeverythingelse,thekingthoughttohimself,"MaybeIneedsomeonemorefamiliarwiththecountrysidetounderstandthenatureofthisproblem."Sohecriedouttohiscourt,"Goandgetafarmer."

Inthemorning,thekingwasthrilledtoseethefalconsoaringhighabovethepalacegardens.Hesaidtohiscourt,"Bringmethedoerofthismiracle."

Moral:Weareallmadetofly-torealizeourincrediblepotentialashumanbeings.Butinsteadofdoingthat,wesitonourbranches,clingingtothethingsthatarefamiliartous.Thepossibilitiesareendless,butformostofus,theyremainundiscovered.Weconformtothefamiliar,thecomfortable,themundane.Soforthemostpart,ourlivesaremediocreinsteadofexciting,thrillingandfulfilling.Soletuslearntodestroythebranchoffearweclingtoandfreeourselvestothegloryofflight.
