Definition Glaucoma“ A condition that causes damage to the optic nerve of the eye that gets worse over time (sneak thief of vision). It's often associated with a buildup of pressure inside the eye. It tends to be inherited and may not show up until later in life."

Some Facts about the Eye• The eye is the second most complex
organ in our body (after the brain)• Cornea is the only tissue in the eye that
doesn’t need blood• The eye muscles are the strongest in our

constantly controlled• The eye heals quickly• The human eye can distinguish

Symptoms of Glaucoma• Few or no symptoms• First sign is often the loss of peripheral or side vision• Sudden eye pain, headaches and blurred vision. • Seeing halos around lights• Vision loss• Redness in he eye• Eye that looks hazy (particularly in children)• Nausea or vomiting• Pain in the eye• Narrowing of vision (tunnel vision)

• Eye pressure test (Tonometry)
• Visual Field Test• Glaucoma tests are
painless and take very little time
