The company combined the names of two of the farmers, Yola and Coplait, to form their new brand, Yoplait.

Dear ClawPaws Pet Shop

Q: Do aquarium fi sh grow according to

the size of their tank?

A: This is a very common misconception

about keeping tropical fi sh or even other

animals. Genetically every fi sh, reptile or

any other pet will grow to full adult size

with proper care. It is your responsibil-

ity to research the species you have and

provide a tank or enclosure for proper

growing room.

If an aquarium is too small it results

in poor water quality for the fi sh. In-

creased pollutants and poor feeding,

among other things will “stunt” fi sh

growth. Stress may also affect its poten-

tial to reach adult full size. Unnatural

growth by any means will usually result

in unhealthy fi sh and premature death.

Experiments with fi sh that grow large that

are put in a small tank where the water is

continually being exchanged results in a

fi sh outgrowing its container.

So, before buying a fi sh or any other

aquarium animal be sure to check with

your pet shop specialist to be sure that

you are providing the right size and the

most healthy environment for your pet so

you can enjoy it for years.
