Bangkok experiences, enjoy the sights,

smells and sounds of the famous

Damnoen Saduak Floating Market where

you will find hundreds of Thai style

canoes laden with fruits, vegetables,

sweets and meats.

High on the list of most visitors

‘things to do’ Damnern Saduak Floating

market is a truly colorful experience.

filled with flat boats piled high with

fresh produce, each jockeying for

position and paddled by ladies ready to

stop and bargain at a moment's notice.

Your journey to the market includes an

exciting long tail speedboat ride through

the marshes, past traditional stilt houses

and scenes that have changed little over

the centuries.

As you speed across the water,

your experienced English-speaking

guide will provide a colorful overview

of the market and what to expect when

you arrive. There is plenty of free time

to explore the market and your guide

will be happy to arrange a local boat ride

through the markets (optional extra)

should you wish to get closer to the

vendors.

Ancient City เมืองโบราณ

The Ancient City, like a door opened to the cultural in heritage of Siam. You are able to see the continuity of the history, arts, cultures, religious, thoughts as well as the believes of Thai talents. It shall reflect to Thai fundamentals and the varieties of the cultures on Thai territories. The historical of Siam will visually be revived at The Ancient City.

Taking up 320 acres of land, roughly in the shape of Thailand, the huge park reproduces -- usually on a smaller scale -- important buildings from around Thailand. There are over 100 monuments collected or reproduced. Some of them are reconstructions of buildings that no longer exist. Other buildings are examples of traditional vernacular architecture that were scheduled to be demolished and instead were purchased by the Ancient City, dismantled and reconstructed in the park. Many of the buildings represent

religious and royal sites from around Thailand as well as from the past.

As it does take the better part of a day to see the park, you'll be wanting lunch. There are ample "snack bars" spread throughout the park, but the place for lunch is the recreation of a Thai floating village (left). There are a number of restaurants in various styles on the water. You can walk around until one place strikes your fancy. The food is generally basic Thai. There are also some souvenir stands around the village as well

Ask anyone who has been to Bangkok what their 'must see' list of the city entails, and without fail they'll include The Grand Palace. The Grand Palace Complex is home to a number of attractions including Wat Phra Keow (Temple of the Emerald Buddha).

Built in traditional Thai architecture mixed with European

designs, The Grand Palace complex, once the official home for the Kings of Siam, is unquestionably one of the Thailand's major tourist highlights. The King still uses the Grand Palace for certain ceremonial occasions and the regal flavor within its enormous royal grounds is still evident. During the tour you will visit the Royal Funeral Hall and the Royal Coronation Hall.

The main centerpiece of the complex however is the 45 centimeter Emerald Buddha. Carved from just one piece of Jade it is the holiest and most revered religious object in Thailand. The Emerald Buddha is housed within Wat Phra Keow, which is a very ornately decorated building whose roof tiles reach up into the sky.

Safari World

Page 8: to download the package tour file

ซาฟารีเวอร

One of the largest theme parks in Thailand is Safari World, on the northern outskirts of Bangkok. According to their brochure it is "Thailand's greatest and most popular open zoo and show park". They also claim to have "world class shows" and an "oasis for animals" which is probably going a bit too far. It is certainly a great day out for the family and that is where I took Nong Grace yesterday as her school has now broken up for the summer holidays. As she is only four years old I didn't think she would survive the entire day. However I think I collapsed from exhaustion long before her. But, then she spent most of the day being pushed around in a stroller.

Safari World is split into two sections. Namely Safari Park and Marine Park. You don't actually have to visit both as there are separate tickets for each. However,

a combined ticket costs 700 baht for foreign adults with another 200 baht for the boat ride which we didn't do. For an average sized family, that works out to be an

expensive day out. We decided to first visit Safari Park which was probably the highlight. This is an open park area with hundreds of wild animals roaming around. If you don't have your own car like us then you can join coach tours. However, having your own transport means that you can take your time and stop anywhere to take pictures. You can also wind down your windows to get better pictures.

Page 9: to download the package tour file

You will loved this place. It was a

great opportunity to get up close to some of the animals. Though, after an incident with a group of ostriches that tried to eat the car she was a bit nervous about winding down the window. But, she enjoyed taking pictures of animals such as Zebras, camels,

storks, rhino, giraffes, deer and bears. We then passed through double gates to the area where the tigers and lions lived. However, as it was quite hot they were lazing away in the shade of a distant tree so we couldn't get really close. These are mainly nocturnal animals so you would have to visit a night safari to see more action.

Bangkok City and Temple Tour ขมเมืองกรุงเทพและวัด (วัดไตรมิตร,วัดโพธิ์,วัดเบญจมบพิตร)

Chinatown

Chinatown of Bangkok was formally an area called "Sampeng", started when the Chinese merchants moved in 1780s after vacating the land where the Grand Palace now stands. In 1863, King Mongkut commanded the construction of New Road (or Charoen Krung Road) which runs over six kilometers from the Royal Palace till it drops straight into the Chao Phraya River, just south of Krung Thep Bridge now. The Chinatown expanded along Charoen Krung, Krung Kasem and the third road, the Yaowarat Road which was built between Charoen Krung and Sampeng.

Wat Pho

This world famous temple is located right next to the Grand Palace on the south side. It is one of Bangkok's oldest and largest temples. Wat Pho was built by King Rama I nearly 200 years ago and houses the gigantic gold-plated Reclining Buddha. This unique image is 46 metres in length and 15 metres high with beautifully inlaid mother-of pearl soles . Wat Pho is also regarded as the first centre of public education and is sometimes called "Thailand's First University".

Wat Benchamabophit (The Marble Temple)

The Marble Temple is on Si Ayutthaya Road near Chitralada Palace. The

temple is well-known because its main building was constructed during the reign of King Rama V. The best time to visit this temple is early in the morning when Buddhist monks are chanting inside the chapel. The interior of the main building is magnificently decorated with cross beams of lacquer and gold. A large collection of Bronze Buddhas lines the walls of the spacious inner courtyard.

Wat Traimit (Temple of the Golden Buddha)

At the end of Yaowarat Road, near Bangkok's Hualamphong Railway Station, is a temple situated on Traimit Road. This temple is known for its famous Golden Buddha, constructed during the Sukhothai period. The image, of solid gold, is three meters high and weighs five and a half tons.

Risky Market ตลาดรมหุบ

This market, close to Maeklong Railway Station, is located on the railway line which is still in use.It is the market that is not really established for tourism but its charm attracts outsiders to visit when they pass by. At present , this market has become more well-known.

A number of foreigner tourists request to have a visit while they are on the way to Damnernsaduak Floating Market. For tourist, it is so exciting and funny after hearing warning-announcement from the station ,to watch the merchants and vendors in a rush to fold and remove their awnings and unbrellas which overlap into the space above the railway tracks. They are so skillful that they are able to handle this in a few minutes before the train reaches the spot.

The market is colloquially known as Rom Hoop Market, meaning the market where they have to prepare to fold down umbrella or awning to let the trains pass through.

The market is also ironically called Nee Tai Market for they have to flee away to survive from the approaching trains heading for this market. This market is ,on and on, to be open and closed 8 times and day ,since there are 4 trains passing up and down.

Bangkok Noi Canal Cruise

ลองเรือคลองบางกอกนอย

Bangkok Canal Tour and Rice Barge, Canal Tours A Voyage through time, Bangkok history is so chosely connected to the waterways. It sued to have so many canals that it was often called The Venice of The East. Rattanakosin Island came into existence when King Rama I had the bang Lamphu Klong constructed to fortify Bangkok.

Cruising along the klongs as the canals are called in Thai takes you on a journey of contrast back to earlier eras and up to modern bankgok. The most popular klong trips start on the Bangkok side of the Chao Phraya River and cross over to the

Thonburi side to venture up Bangkok Noi and Bangkok Yai canals. These journeys take you to fascinating places such as The Royal Barge Museum and the colonial-style Thonburi Railway Station.

On the way you will see a different side of life as you pass the homes of the klong-dwellers. Each home seems to have its own boat, be if a small canoe or a hang yao the long-tailed boats powered by car or truck engines and a propeller on a long shaft that acts as both propulsion and steerage.

The contrast continues as you pass into idyllic rural pockets where villagers grow fruit, vegetables and orchids which are sent to markets on the long-tailed boats Youll see children on there way to or from school and saffron robed monks traveling to their klong-side temples, You may even come across Thai women in boats selling boat noodles, drinks, snacks and fruit.

Ayuddhaya City and Temple Tour ขมเมืองอยุธยา และ วัด

Ayutthaya, the ancient capital of Siam, is 80km north of Thailand’s present-day capital city and makes for an excellent day trip from Bangkok. The impressive remains of the historic temples form a dramatic backdrop to this pleasant riverside city.

The old city itself was founded in 1351 on an island about 4 kilometers (2.5 miles) wide, formed by the confluence of the Chaophraya, Lopburi and Pasak Rivers. A wall once encircled the entire island, though only a few bits of it can be seen today.

trip by riverboat, a must-do activity when you're in Bangkok, with close-up views of the temples and historic sites that line the Chao Phraya River.

Today, Ayutthaya is know for its spectacular ruins and temples. Many of its temples are still intact, such as Wat Phra Sanphet, Wat Mongkhon Bophit, Wat Panangcherng and Wat Chai Mongkol, known for its large bronze statue of the Reclining Buddha. The Bridge on the River Kwai, Kanchanaburi Province

สะพานขามแมน้ําแคว

The Bridge on the River Kwai was builded in 1943 of one of the railway bridges over the Mae Klong—renamed Khwae Yai in the 1960s—at a place called Tha Ma Kham, five kilometers from the Thai town of Kanchanaburi. This was part of a project to link existing Thai and Burmese railway lines to create a route from Bangkok, Thailand, to Rangoon, Burma, to support the Japanese occupation of Burma. About a hundred thousand conscripted Asian labourers and 12,000 prisoners of war died on the whole project.

Although the suffering caused by the building of the Burma Railway and its bridges is true, the incidents portrayed in the movie film are mostly fictional. Historically the conditions were much worse.

The destruction of the bridge as depicted in the film is entirely fictional. In fact, two bridges were built: a temporary wooden bridge and a permanent steel/concrete bridge a few months later. Both bridges were used for two years, until they were destroyed by Allied aerial bombing. The steel bridge was repaired and is still in use today.

Bambooraft and Elephen Tacking, Kanchanaburi Province

ลองแพ นั่งชาง

The countryside in Kanchanaburi lends itself perfectly to elephant riding and the province is rightly known as a premier spot to ride and feed these awesome animals in natural surroundings. Don't miss out on the chance of a lifetime! In addition to riding, you have the option of bathing elephants too.

Join in the riverside fun as you witness the brilliant spectacle of elephants at play. You will also get the chance to help these marvelous animals in the important job of keeping clean and cooling off from the tropical heat, plus you can take a dip yourself at the same time. Getting wet has never been so much fun!

The most relaxing way to appreciate the stunning River Kwai Noi valley is to take a slow, gliding trip along the river itself on board a bamboo raft. Swim alongside the raft or simply sit back and enjoy the lush scenery as you follow the meandering path downstream. Long tail boats are also available for a faster trip in either direction. Life jackets are provided as standard.

Tiger Temple, Kanchanaburi Province วัดปาสวนเสือหลวงตาบัว

There aren't many places in the world where you can touch a fully-grown tiger, but the monks at Thailand's Tiger Temple allow you to get up close and personal with their domesticated brood of big cats

Since 1999, the monks here have taken care of tigers, which have been rescued from poachers in the nearby Thai-Burmese border jungle - and to date they have 17 fully-grown tigers and tiger cubs living within the temple grounds. Every afternoon, the tigers are let out of their cages and taken down to a quarry, which has a natural pool for them to bathe and play in. Visitors can walk down into the quarry and see the tigers from only a few feet away. Most of the tigers simply sit stretched out in the sun - they are nocturnal creatures so they laze around during the day. Some of the younger tigers are pretty frisky however; they've been busy playing in the pond - "playing" in this case meaning "whacking each other in the face with their paws".

It's just as well most of the tigers prefer to stay stationary - if they start moving around, things can become a little tense on the other side of the rope. Some of these tigers are huge, and to be in such close proximity to them is both awe-inspiring and a little scary. Their beauty is mesmerizing though.
