    1. Introduction

The screen shots included in this file are created to demonstrated the menu option to be selectedto achieve each stage

It is important that the order of these items is followed when loading an aircraft (toavoid locking journeys etc.):

    2. Specific Instructions

    2. 1. Maintenance Program & Revision

Make sure there is a maintenance program and revision setup for the aircraft you wish to load

You can choose IETP Tigre program for the purposes of this training.

Editing this program and selecting the Revisions tab shows the revision of this program.

This part is already complete for aircraft B-LFA

2.2. Add Part Numbers into Part No Control

Add part numbers to Part No Control grid (if they are not already there) for the items you need totrack against the aircraft

If you need to add a new part number for an item you wish to fit to the aircraft the followingoptions should be used:

As per the screenshot above enter the following fields:

Part Number: Enter the part number you are loading

Part Description: Enter the description for the part number

Common Name: Enter any other name the part number may also be known by

Default IPC Reference: Enter the Illustrated Parts Catalogue Reference if known

Part Status: Always select Active from the drop down

Classification: Always select Rotable from the drop down

Part Class: not mandatory field; this is a way of grouping parts (per A/C type forexample); referred also as Product Groups

Stock Unit Of Measure: Always select EACH from the drop down

Continue checking for part numbers or entering new part numbers until part numbers exist in thistable for all of the assets you want to track against the airframe

    2.3. Models

Add models; link them to their respective part numbers; link them to their maintenance programand link them to each other to form the tree

Models can be found from the above menu option.

To add a model click the Add button.

Then fill out the necessary information:

    Model Tab

When selecting Add a screen as above will be displayed.

Please enter the following minimum information on the model tab:

Model: The main name of the model to be loaded. Normal practice is to use aprefix that denotes the aircraft Model, i.e. if the Model is for the R85, wewould use a prefix of R85-DUCT followed by the Model Description i.e.DUCT. The Model name would then be R85-DUCT.

Description: A further description of this model. Usual practice is to copy and pastethe Model Name.

Model Type: This is an important selection based on a drop down list. Select therelevant model type based on the model you are loading. If the model isa model that would have a log book e.g. Engine then select Engine. If itis purely a component that would be fitted to an engine then selectComponentThis is very important and the Model Types should be self explanatory. Ifnot have a look at the Help on Model Types.

Zone information: If the model is a log book model it is important to add Zone informationto the Model which can be used later on in the workcard system; thisfield is not mandatory

    Access Panels Tab

If the model is a log book model then please add the relevant access panels to the model for usein the workcard system.

Note: Access Panels added to this tab, will then be available from the level of work card (for the

correct workpack setup the work card information is required: we will need to selectaircraft/component models applicable for the work card, and then in Panels tab - Access Panelsfor this model are available).

    Sub Models Tab

This tab allows you to fit assets to each other. Fitting assets to each other should be done inrelation to the higher assy model see attached picture for an engine model breakdown

Here you can see an engine model of CF6-50C2 which has a CF6-50C2 Fan Module fitted to itcomprising of a number of other items for example the CF6-50C2 Fan Mid Shaft.

It is important that items are fitted in relation to their next higher assembly so as their life codesi.e. TSN & TSCO values move with the component on removal and refit between higher assys.

    2.4. Adding Assets

In order to attach an asset to the airframe it must exist in the Asset / Component log.

The asset component log is accessible from the following menu option.

When adding a new record the following fields are of importance:

Serial No: Enter the Serial Number of the asset

Model: Select a Model. Selection of the Model will then filter the list of availablepart numbers i.e. the ones allowed for that model

Part No: Select a relevant Part No.Manufacture Date: Enter a manufacture date for the individual asset. If one is not known

enter the Manufacture Date of the next higher assembly asset

Status: Select a Status of BUILD for all assets from the drop down. This statuswill be changed when the asset is attached or detached

Enter the Registration; select the airframe Serial Number from a drop down list; Status; Based At& Maintenance schedule. Also consider the tick boxes at the Registration level. E.G. Tick ask for

journey places to show from and to IATA airport codes on journey logs / tech logs and untickHide Arrival / Departure values if you want to record Chocks off/on times journey logs / techlogs.

Go to Model Tree tab an check if your aircrafts model tree appeared there correctly.Once happy with your selections save and close the aircraft you have added.

It is also important the aircraft is linked to a line defect order and that ADD ranges are setupagainst the airframe.

To create a line defect order, go to line defect order range.

Add a new order (using Add button), enter all mandatory data, enter orders description. In Regsection of oreder details, selectyour reg for which you want to create a line defect order, Save &Close.

You will be able now to select line defect order number on your Reg details window.

The next important think at this stage is defining ADD Ranges tab in aircraft details. In this tabyou define the way how ADD numbers will be created for the aircraft.

To define ADD range, go to ADD Ranges tab, click Add and enter all necessary data prefix, number of digits and description. Remarks are not mandatory. Last ADD No field is not

mandatory also, but if you enter a number there, creation of ADD numbers will begin from thesubsequent number (in the case of the above picture it will be YOU001). Note that you can addany number of ADD Ranges to your aircraft, you will then have to select the relevant range whencreating ADD defect.

    2.7. Adding the initial tech-log

Add one tech log / journey log against aircraft of a maintenance status accruing no life codes

Make sure this entry is before any genuine flights!

An entry should be added with a reference accruing no values but will be used in stage 8 below.

A typical entry of the maintenance tech log is shown above. Enter Journey Number: *LOAD forthe initial entry. Please select Save + Close when at an equivalent point.

The next screen shows you the Carried out text being updated for the item you have just fitted.

Fit all of the remaining log book assets before moving to the next stage

This is achieved by repeating the all of the parts of stage 9 for the remaining log book assets.

    Tips about attaching assets:

Components will have an installation date of some time in the past that does not match the lifecode information from the tech log in the task used for attachment. Some customers got aroundthis by starting all their aircraft at 0 hours and inserting tech logs at points in time so as thesystem could have items fitted to it both at the correct date and correct hours and cycles.

See also the section 2.7 the initial Tech Log.

    2.10. Adding the 2nd tech-log

Once the stage 2.9. is complete add one more tech log to the aircraft with a Maintenance status

accruing no values but showing the additional log books life codes as a result of completing stage2.9.

Here is an example of the tech log that needed to be added and you can see from the life codescreen that there are more values here i.e. ones related to the landing gears that were fitted.

2.11. Attachment of subcomponents and MIs

Create one more task on the workorder linked to the 2nd tech log created in stage 2.10. Use this

task to initially set all maintenance items and to fit all sub components.

Do not do this stage until all of the stages above are complete

Here is a new task I added set to the new tech log I just added.

This task is then to be used to fit the remaining assets to the aircraft and set the initialmaintenance item status.
