Pay attention to security andmoney procedures
c Authorized personnel onlyWhy are only on-duty staff allowed in the work area?
Extra people cause confusion, distract employees, and give criminals opportunity. Don’t go behind the counter if you’re not working, and don’t invite friends back there.
Ask for a badge. If someone you don’t recognize wants to enter the kitchen, ask to see a company picture ID badge. If the personcan’t show you one, get your manager.
c Don’t give food or information awayIs giving food away really considered theft?
Never give away food to friends or people you know. Intentionallygiving away food is considered theft and will result in disciplinaryaction up to and including termination.
Security procedures and money procedures are confidential. For example, if someone asks you when your manager makes drop-offs at the bank, say that you don’t know. Then tell your managerwhat happened.
c Stay calm What should you do during a robbery?
Don’t panic or argue during a robberyIf you are held up:• Try to remain calm• Do exactly what you are told• Don’t argue or hesitate• Give the robbers what they want• Don’t do anything that would put you or anyone else in danger

Paper is rough when you run your fingers through it.Paper does not glow under ultraviolet light. The silhouette of the portrait appears on the face of the noteSharp details of the light-and-shadow effect can be seen when the noteis viewed against the light. There are red and blue visible scattered at random on both surfaces and can readily picked off by using any pointed instrument. There is a special thread implanted vertically off center of the note; broken line for 20s and continuous for 50s, 100s, 200s, 500s, 1000sA narrow thread is vertically located like "stitches" on the face of thenote with "clear text" of the numerical value in repeated sequence. This changes in color from magenta to green or green to magentadepending on the angle of view for the improved version of 100s, 200s,500s, and 1000s. For the improved version of 100s, 200s, 500s and 1000s, the iridescent band is wide glistening gold vertical stripe with the numerical value printed in series. The impression of the different printed features are well-defined, sharpand distinct. The fingers can readily feel the main prints on the front and back designsof relatively new notes because of the measurable thickness of inkdeposited on the paper.Portrait appears life-like, the eyes sparkle, with characteristic facial expression.Serial number is composed of one or two prefix letters and six to sevendigits, which are clearly printed. The letters and numbers are uniform in size and thickness, evenly spaced well-aligned. They glow under ultraviolet light. The background design is made up of multicolored and well-defined lines; thelacework design is composed of fine, web-like criss-crossing lines, whichare continuous and traceable even at the intersection. The vignette or design on the back of the note is composed of lines anddashes that are fine, distinct and sharp. The varying color tone gives a vividlook to the picture that makes it stand out.For the 500-peso denomination, there is a concealed value at the lower leftcorner of the face of the note and is recognizable when note is held ateye level. For the 1000-peso denomination, an optically variable ink is located in thelower left corner of the face of the note which changes color from green toblue or blue to green when the note is held at different angles.

Know the rules
It is very important to follow security procedures when openingand closing the restaurant to ensure the safety of yourself andother crew members.
Even if you are never responsible for these stations, you shouldbe aware that McDonald’s has these policies.
c No loiteringWhy is loitering not allowed?
Who’s hanging around? People lingering in the parking lot or suspiciously hanging out aroundthe restaurant may be “casing” the restaurant—observing the restau-rant’s procedures to determine the best time to commit a crime.
If you see anyone suspicious, write down the person’s license plateand description, then notify your manager.
c Staggered openDescribe a staggered opening.
Enter as a team
1 Arrive at work together
Meet your manager and other crew members off-site. Travel togetherto the restaurant.
2 Drive all the way around the building
Check for anything unusual, such as broken windows, opendoors, or cars in the parking lot.
If anything looks suspicious, leave and call Operations Consultant.

Special situations
c Bomb threatsWhat should you do if you receive a bomb threat?Write down everything about a bomb threat.
Take good notes. If you receive a bomb threat, it’s important that youwrite down all the pertinent information you get and tell your man-ager immediately.
When and where. Ask for the location of the bomb and the time it willgo off.
Listen closely to the voice. Is the caller male or female, calm orexcited? Does the caller have any accent or speech impediment?
Make notes of any background noises you hear (motors, music, laughing and joking).
The more information you write down, the better the chance of preventing injury to everyone in the restaurant, and the better the investigation will go afterward. The more you write down at the time, the less you have to try to remember later.
c Natural disastersDescribe your restaurant’s procedures for common natural disasters.
