We took a little bit of land from the paddock so the formal garden now wraps right the way around the house, and it’s a really beautiful space that features a varied landscape. Instead of going out for a long walk we’ll often just nip out and do a circuit of our land: out onto the terrace, around to the orchard, past the paddock and

our little area of woodland, which enshrouds a very pretty little stream and waterfall, and finally back into what we like to call our very own pleasure garden. This is such an idyllic spot and a wonderful place to call home, and I’m not sure we’ll ever find anywhere else quite so beautiful again.”
