Infinitive verbs:

When an object is needed, it goes between the verb and the infinitive.

• Subject + advise + object + to + infinitive.

• Experts advise us to break this habit.

When an object is not needed. We use the gerund.

• Subject + advise + verb + ing.

• Experts advise breaking this habit.
