Rebuild21 - May 30-31, 2012

Rethinking Finance Constructive MediaRebuilding Education

This year’s theme is ‘21st Century Business’. Where is the growth of the 21st century? What does the ‘21st Century Dream company’ look like? How do we rethink leadership, innovation and organisations for a radically more open,

transparent and competitive century? Apart from this, we have special sessions or: Rethinking Finance, Rebuilding Education and Constructive Media.

21st Century Business

THE 2012 THEMESRebuild21 - May 30-31, 2012

RETHINKING FINANCE

RETHINKING FINANCEThe world of finance is changing. Challenged by the public opinion, government regulation and new online start-ups, it’s time for the Financial Sector to reinvent itself.

In the aftermath of the Financial Crisis and the Occupy Wall Street Movement something is cooking. Companies like Google, Simple, Bitcoin are developing innovative new service with the potential to revolutionize banking.

We will set out to answer the following challenges:

•What are the waves of change and services likely to revolutionize the banking industry?

•What will the transparent and constructive bank of the 21st century look like?

•What are the steps needed before banks and financial institutions can re-establish a constructive role in society?

•How can we as citizen investors unite and start contribute to a more sustainable and constructive world today?

At Rebuild21 we will showcase companies and organisations that will inspire us to see what finance, banking and investment funds of the 21st century might look like.

In this track we look further into:

•21st Century Banks•Open Source•Alternative Economies•Co-creation•Transparency•Citizen investors

CONSTRUCTIVE MEDIA

CONSTRUCTIVE MEDIAMedia and journalists were democratic cornerstones of the 20th century.

But increasingly, traditional media are falling short when it comes to facilitating a constructive democratic dialogue.

How can we reignite a flourishing constructive media landscape?

We need to rebuild media to support a more constructive dialogue about society and business. Rather than work against each other, media and politicians must work together around a common goal of creating a more open, rich and sustainable society.

In this special session we will set out to answer the following questions:

•How can we reignite a flourishing constructive media landscape?

•What are the potentials and roadblocks?

•What are the examples of companies or organisations that will show us what constructive media of the 21st century might look like?

At Rebuild21 we will present examples of companies and organisations that will inspire us to see what constructive media of the 21st century might look like.

In this track we look further into:

•Constructive media•Public Service Media•Citizen journalism•Social News

REBUILDING EDUCATION

REBUILDING EDUCATIONEducation is key to future prosperity and growth. And yet many of our core education institutions are stuck in an industrial mindset of the 20th century.

We need to rethink and rebuild education for the 21st century. We have massive knowledge about what it takes to create more stimulating learning environment. Is it only economy keeping us from revitalising education – or is it in reality bureaucracy, habits and laziness?

In this special track we will set out to answer the following challenges:

•How do we educate motivated, independent, entrepreneurial minds of the 21st century instead of carrying on with standardized, creativity killing systems of the 20th century?

•What are the key elements in creating more stimulating and engaging learning environments?

•What are the great examples that will show us what 21st century elementary schools and universities might look like.

At Rebuild21 we will present examples that will inspire us to see what education of the 21st century might look like.

In this track we look further into:

•Entrepreneurship in education•The 21st Century University•New Nordic School•New Learning Platforms•Learning styles

21st CENTURY BUSINESS

21ST CENTURY BUSINESSIn the 20th century we admired and studied Ford, General Motors, IBM, Levi Strauss, Coca-Cola, McDonald’s and Microsoft. But what will ‘the dream company’ of the 21st century look like? Will it innovate like Google, design like Apple and engage people like LEGO? Or should we look in completely new directions to find the DNA of 21st century business?

What will be the cornerstones of 21st century business?

In this main track of the conference we will set out to answer the following questions:

•How do you create a ‘Meaning Organisation’?

•How do we rethink our management models to create more engaging, responsive and effective organisations?

•How to get beyond CSR and radically embrace sustainability and social innovation.

At Rebuild21 we will present examples of companies and organisations that will inspire us to see what 21st century business might look like. Help share the message and join us for Rebuild21 May 30-31, 2012 in Copenhagen.

In this track we look further into:

•The Meaning Organisation•Democratic leadership•Transparency•Open Business Models•Co-creation•Networked Organisations
