Established in the year 2003, University of Petroleum and Energy Studies
emerged as Asia’s first energy and core sector University offering industry
focused specialized undergraduate, postgraduate and doctoral programs in
various fields. UPES is committed to maintaining high standards in
providing the best quality education and endeavors to be recognized as the
‘Nations Builders University’ with a vision of creating specialized
professionals in the core industrial sectors that contribute to the economic
growth of the country. Its primary goal is to develop domain specific and
talented professionals who are ready to join the core industries by
providing them proper resources they need to enhance their professional
skills. It has many student chapters and societies consisting of student
members, and faculty sponsors who work together to create a healthy
working environment for the students. UPES believes in providing
opportunities to each and every one to showcase their talents in front of
the world by carrying out different technical and non-technical
competitions, fests and events as well as workshops and tutorials. Its
mission is to improve the skillsets of the individuals and upgrade it to a
level which will help them stand out from the rest and bring out the best in
them.

Established in the year 2010, The UPES ACM Student Chapter primarily
focuses on creating interest, developing logical thinking ability and
spreading awareness about the technological and computing information
among the people. Started as a small unit, the UPES ACM society evolved
consistently year by year and is now the only student chapter with
international exposure. The UPES ACM team believes in working together
as a family and always standing as a constant support for each other.
Currently a team of about 400 members, the chapter works as hard as
possible and put all our hearts and sweat to make sure that it functions
properly and stands to people’s expectations. Its main motive is to educate
the community, sharing the valuable knowledge they have with the people
and keeping them updated with the latest happenings in the technological
world. It welcomes new and innovative ideas and makes sure that they get
the proper exposure. ACM chapter conducts several workshops on various
technical and non-technical themes from experts specializing in that field. It
also conducts competitions, technical events, gaming events, fun contests to
make sure there is entertainment and learning side by side. The annual
technical fest, Prodigy which concentrates on increasing the passion and
interest among the learners in their respective domains, happens in the
month of March or April. It is the combination of dedication, hard work
and hunger for achieving perfection, along with the utmost sincerity shown
by the team that makes UPES ACM chapter the best. The constant show of
support and active participation from its members makes it work even
harder than ever to maintain the reputation it has built over the years.

The UPES-ACM student chapter ventures to develop a debonair model of
arête technical learning among the students of University of Petroleum and
Energy Studies. One such venture is our official UPES-ACM website
www.upesacm.org, a collaborative effort of the Core Committee members
of our chapter to promulgate their savvy in the world of technology.
The website is fully committed to providing information regarding the
UPES ACM & ACM-W Student chapter in a clear, usable and accessible
format with a crisp design and typography. The website is regularly
updated with the past as well as the upcoming events and activities of the
chapter.

The website also provides easy access to the Chapter’s prestigious Annual
Tech Fest, Prodigy’s Official Website prodigy.upesacm.org, which focuses
on providing all the relevant details of the events that were conducted. One
of the most impressive features of our website is the online registration
where the students can register themselves by paying online.
Our website has all the
necessary security
features and we are
immensely proud of it.
This year, we took the
next step by hosting
some events on our
own website. These
events ranged from
online technical quizzes
and puzzles to website
hacking events.

BlackHat, the website hacking event proved the robustness of our website,
and was the first of its kind to be conducted in the state.
The puzzle, Tangled, had a massive participation, and consequently,
number of attempts to find vulnerabilities, but the chapter’s website
development team was always one step ahead.
The Testimonial section features the thoughts and experiences of our
community members. Likewise our Mentorship facility presents an
opportunity to the students to enrol them in our mentorship program
where they can seek help regarding anything from studies to projects and
career advice, under the guidance of a mentor. Adding to which is our yet
another distinguishing feature, The Forum section, where community
members answer the queries of the students on various technological
topics.
The website also constitutes a cliquish blog featuring articles by the
members on several interesting topics and affairs spanning from cloud

Our Chapter executives are also well presented in the Team Section with their
LinkedIn profile for professional networking purposes. The website also offers
online Registration feature by which interested students can join UPES ACM by
paying a minimal amount. The site is intelligently designed for easy access &
user-friendliness. It is fully responsive, mobile friendly and pixel perfect. Our
technical team has worked very hard on it and our website is a true reflection
of their immense skills and efforts.
