     l. Qers respect and oeisances to the guru4 to the Lord and 2isdevotees4 and to other superiors. ne must oQer respect andoeisances to the superiors4 li,e the guru4 the Lord and 2is devotees.(e must also respect superior relatives4 li,e the parents.

     3. Bathe after passing stool.

    (e must at least $ash our hands. In the (estern countries it may ediTcult to $ash our feet. But $hen in India4 you should $ash othyour hands and your feet efore and after ta,ing prasada.

     ). Do not outstretch your legs in front of your elders.

    Because people sometimes drin, $ater from ponds or la,es orrivers4 one should not spit on $ater.

    ddhavaRs father and therefore ddhava could not accept him as hisdisciple4 especially $hen Maitreya $as present neary. 'he rule isthat in the presence of a higher personality one should not e veryeager to impart instructions4 even if one is competent and $ell:versed. /o ddhava decided to send an elderly person li,e Vidura toMaitreya4 another elderly person.

    oth had the authority to ecome the spiritual master of Vidura oranyone else4 ut Maitreya4 eing elderly had the @rst claim toecoming the spiritual master4 especially forVidura4 $ho $as much older than ddhava. ne should not e eagerto ecome a spiritual master cheaply for the sa,e of pro@t and fame4ut should ecome a spiritual master for the service of the Lord.
