HACI BAYRAM VELI'DE ŞiiR VE HiKMET BURCU
Arifler, veliler, hikmet ehli
insanlar sözün ne manaya geldiği
ni bilme kudretine sahip insanlardır.
Sözü yutmuş olanlar da var elbette.
Mesela, mecnunlar gibi. Yaratı.cı'nın
yaratışı karşısında aklını ve görl'lünü
bütünüyle Allah'a teslim etmiş, bir
yokluk deryası içinde kaybolmuş hay-
ret makamı sahipleri de var. Biz on-
ları çoğu zaman tanımayız. Kainatın
sırrına vakıf halleri içinde gözümüze
bir perde çekerek dünya üzerinde
yürürler. Ne var ki Allah'ın merhameti
bizi zorluğun ucundan alır kolaylığırı
sınırlarına bırakır. Kelimeyi yutmuş
olanları gizlese de, sözün üstadı olan
ları gösterir. Bizim zayıf duyarlığımız
ancak söz, mana ve fıil üçgeniyle bize
yaklaşanları kabul eder. iyi ki böyle bir
kabul sahası verilmiş bize. Yoksa kör
lük ve sağırlık içinde yüzer dururduk.
işte bu söz üstatlarından birini, Hacı
228 Bayram Veli'yi bir şiiri (diğer adwla nut-
ku) aracılığıyla anlamaya ve anlatma
ya çalışacağız bu tebliğde.
Şöyle:

Abdülkadir Geylani Hazretleri'nin Ilahi Allah'ın varlığının ebedi ve mutlak :::;.
Armağan adıyla Türkçe'ye çevı'ilen soh
betlerinden bir alıntı yapmak istiyo
rum. Şöyle diyor: "Benden bir şey işitin
ce kabul et. Allah'tan bil'~ Devamında
da şöyle diyor: "Bana geldiğin zaman
sade gel. Nefsini bir yana at. Şahsi is
A.slında her
Biz buna "hal"
diyoruz. Eskiler böyle insanlara "hal
ehli" derlerdi. Yani beşeri algının sınır
larına kabuk bağlatan şeytani ve nef
sani k iri temizleme cehdi göstermiş ve
savaşı kazanmış altın kahramanlardan
bahsediyoruz. Öyle ki dünya bu insan
ların halleri içinde önemsiz bir mecaza
dönüşür. Hakikat yurdundan getirdik
leri sözlerin bize mecaz görünmesi
ise dünyayı hakikatmiş gibi algılama
hatasından doğmaktadır. Asıl olan on
ların verdiği haberlerdir, mecaz olan
ise dünyaya ilişkin olandır. Allah'ı her
an gören gözlerin gördüğünü ifade
etmesinde bir mecaz bulunduğunu
sanmıyorum. Hacı Bayram Veli'nin bu
nutkunu yorumlayan Muhammed
Nuru'l Arabi şöyle izah ediyor bu du
rumu: Padişah kılık değiştirerek sal
tanat köşkünden ayrılıp halk arasına
ı-

ce bilmeyen tanımaz. Hatta tanıyan
bir kişi, tanımayan bir kişiye: "Şimdi
buradan padişah geçti gördün mü?"
diye sorsa, o kişi rahatlıkla "görme
dim" cevabını verir. Belki görmediğine
yemin de edebilir.
Hacı Bayram Veli'den okuduğumuz bu
şiirde geçen "şar"a yani "şehre" kadim
yorumcular"gönül" diyorlar. Gönül, Al
lah' ın yurdudur. Oraya yerleştirilecek
başka her şey hem gönlü kirletir hem
de son~uzun ışığından mahrum kalır.
Sokrates diyor ki: "Öiümlerinin geldi
ğini yaklaştığını sezince kuğular, şarkı
larını o günlerde sık sık ve her zaman
kinden daha ahenkli söylerler. Çankü
onlar hizmet ettikleri Tanrı'nın yanına
gitmekten dolayı sevinç_ içindeler. Fa
kat ölümden korkmaları yüzünden
insanlar, kuğulara hakarete varınca
ya kadar ileri giderler, sözde onların
ölümlerine yaslı bir hava ile acınırlar.
(Ben ise) onların hadeste elde ettikleri
nimetleri sezdiklerini ve o gün ömür
lerinde hiçbir zaman ötmedikleri gibi
sevinçle öttüklerini düşünüyorum:'
Hacı Bayram Veli de o şehrin kenarın
dan bakarsanız o güzeller güzelinin
yüzünü görürsünüz diyor. Yani bir şeye
nereden bakıyor olduğumuz neyi, na
sıl göreceğimizi de belirler. Karagöz
oyununu seyreden çocuk, hareketin
sahnede görünenden ibaret olduğu
nu sanır ve eşyayı veya sembolü he
men gerçeğin yerine geçiriverir. Oysa
sahnenin gerisine bakan, oynayan ile
oynatanın farklı farklı olduğu görür ve
keşfeder. Bu keşif sonucunda elde et
tiği bilgileri olduğu gibi ifade etmesi
sahnenin gerisini görmemiş olanlara
mecaz gibi gelebilir. Oysa bilgi tama
mıyla gerçektir ve aslında mecaz olan
sadece sahnedeki hareketleri gören
lerin gördükleridir.
Diyebiliriz ki bu şiirdeki bütün hakikat
son iki mısrada yatıyor.
Hact Bayram kendi banlar Ol şôrm menaresinde
Hakikat şehrinin bütün ışıklarını yakan
el benim elim demeye getiriyor bir·
bakıma. Bu elin nihai hareketine ge
linceye kadarki süreci anlatıyor sanki.
Bir manevi kahramanın oluş ve tamla
n ış sürecindeki kadernelerin altın ışık
lar içindeki Şölenini görüyoruz. Olanın
söylenınesinde olduranın iznini almış
olan söz ustalarının ve gönül üstatla
rının kelimeyi ve anlamı yutmadan,
açık açık dile getirmesidir burada söz
konusu olan. Hakikat, kendi doğal ör
güsü içerisinde tecelli eder. Abdülka
dir Geylani diyor ki "Allah u Tea la; pey
gamberini kelam sıfatı ile terbiye eder.
Sevdiği kulları ise ilham yoluyla teselli
eder. ilham velilere, kelam da pey
gamberlere gelir:' Hacı Bayram Veli'nin
gönül iklimi tam manasıyla bir ilham
iklimidir ve sınır ve sürenin iptaline
mazhar olmuştur. Yoksa:
Nagehan ol ş ara vardum (yani anstzm, birdenbire o şehre vardtm) Ol şart yaptfur gördüm Ben dahi bile yapı/dum Taş ü toprak aresinde
diyemezdi. Bu ifadelerde bir şairanelik
kudreti ile birlikte, manevi dirilişin yan
kısı ve ifadesi vardır. Yapılış, yani oluş ve
tamamlanış süreci bir zaman ve mekan
meselesi olmanın ötesinde ve dışın
da, bir ilahi pişme ve kaynayış halinin
"birdenbire" vuku buluşudur. Bir ilham
şim~e~inin hızı ve kudreti gibi. Sözün
gerisindeki muhteşem serernoniyi ifa
de etmekten kaçınmıyor. Manevi diriliş
.. kahramanlarının, gerçeği ifade etmek
te· herhangi bir zorluk ve tereddüt ya
şamayışlarının örneklerinden biridir
bu. ·Sözün yalan olduğu yerde şiir de
kelime de zamanla kendini imha eder.
Çünkü gerçekle bağlantısı olmayan söz
bir müddet sonra kendi içindeki yalan
tarafından infılaka uğrar.

Poetry and Wisdom in Hac1 Bayram Veli
Poet and Researcher, Mustafa Aydoğan Turkiye, Ankara
Allah, who created us, has not
apandoned us. He sent both his
words as well as his friends who
would make those word s ·cognizable
to us. Gnostics (Aritler), saints (veliler)
and people of wisdom passes the
power of knowing what those words
me~n. There are also people who
swallowed the words and became
silent such as lovers (aşıklar). Those

Creator, surrendered their intellects
and hearts into his hands. They

can only accept those who approach
us with the triangle of word s, senses
and acts. Fortunately such an
acceptance ground is permitted to
us. Otherwise we would have swum
within blindness and deafness. Here
in this pa per, we will try to understand
and speak about one of those masters
of word, Hacı Bayram Veli, through
one of his poems.

ı would like to refer to Abdulkadir
Geylani's causeries which has been
translated to Turkish as"ilahi Armağan"
(Divine Gift}. He writes, "When you hear
anything from me, accept it. Know it \
from Allah:' He continues, "When you
come to me, be plain. Leave yoı,ır ego

would have seen me undressed from
my entire be ing: ~nd became exist by
Hak's existence. Yet, your ili and faulty
perception is not sufficient to sen se it:'
Yunus Em re says the sa ni e words w ith
these lines:
"We drank the juice coming from the
Truth than k God
We passed through the sea of power
thankGod
The mountains, trees and gardens
ease than k God"
If we pay attention, there is an
assertian like mannerin these phrases.
Both Yunus Emre and Geylani say, "1
am this, ı am that'~ Nevertheless, we
cannot take any of these as nonsen se.
Everyone speaks of his own state
(makam). The great German poet
Hclderlin says, "Only the Godly ones
believe in Gad'~ In other words, not
those who are after their egos but
those who are after their souls can
walk on the true path.
Ascension of the Prophet is the most
genuine of makams whi.ch destroys
perception of time and distance. Mirac
(ascension) is the cognizable ultimate
end of Allah's eternal existence and
absolute infinity. lt is true to say that
saints (veliler) have their own mirac
as well. In fact, every human being
can make mirac in his/her own way.
The question is whether their miracs
are worthll'{hile in terms of prophetic
mirac's attributes or not: People of
the truth (ehl-i hakikat) are great
explorers who discover the revival
point (ba'subadelmevt) of both word s
and meanings. Supremes' sayings

Nuru'l Arabi who commented Hacı
Bayram Veli's above poem explained
Hacı Bayram Veli says that if you lo ok

genuine and the real metaphor was
what has been see n by those who saw
the acts only in front of the curtain.
We can say that the entire truth lies
herein la st two lin es:
Hajji Bayram cal/s toprayer
From that city's tali minaret
In one way, he means that the hand
which turned on the lights of the
city of truth is his hand. Seems like
he narrates the process took place
beforethis hand's final movement. We
watch the celebration of the stages
of a spiritual savior's formation and
consummation process within golden
lights. The case is, in the reveal of w hat
happened, those word and heart
masters who sought the permission
of who made it happen, expressed it
frankly, without swallowing the word s
and the meanings. The truth will
manifest itself within its own natural
pattern. Abdulkadir Geylani says that;
" Allah polishes his prophet · via his
word (vahiy). He comforts the ones he
loves with inspiration. lnspiration is
for saints (veliler) and word (vahiy) is
for prophets'~ Climate of Hacı Bayram
Veli's illuminated heart is entirely the
climate of inspiration and is privileged
by invalidation of limits and times.
Otherwise, he would not say:
Suddenly 1 reached that city
1 watched white that city was built
Eve n 1 was built there a/so
Located between earth and stone
In these phrases, along with a
poetic power, there is the echo and
the expression of spiritual revival.
(onstruction, meaning formation
and cansummation is a matter that
is beyond and apart from time and
space, it is rather a sudden occurrence
of the state of ripening and ebullition,
like the speed and power of an
inspiration lightening. He does not
avoid expressing the magnificent
ceremony behind the words. lt is
one of the proofs that those heroes
of the spiritual revivals experien~e
no difficulty or hesitation to convey
this truth. Where the word is a lie,
both poem and vocabulary destr6y
themselves in time; Because the word
that has no connection with the truth
will eventually be detonated by the
illusion from within.
