With the words: "You will notattain righteousness till you
spend in charity of the thingsyou love."(C3,V92), ACDC hasattended kermis which aimed to
help needy people in Gazza.
As targeted so far, ACDC hasbeen donating the profits to
whom in need anywhere in theworld. This time, ACDC has
attended to a Kermis organizedby IUHK (Islamic Union of HongKong) to help people in Gazza.The humanitarian tragedy is so
obvious for the eyes of all.
When the outbreaks of armedclashes between the
governments start, the effectswere mostly on citizens
including women and children.Heavy weaponries are beingused in Gazza and tens of
thousands of people lost theirhome and their lifes.

In reading recent news about
Gaza and Burma (among otherplaces), I am very concernedabout whether or not I shouldloose hope in humanity. I am
desperately searching forplaces and spaces of humanity
in the worldaround me. Is there any placewhere people live peacefullyand trust each other? Is thereany place where people treat
people as people andappreciate each other’s
difference? Is there any place,after all, where tolerance is a
practical reality of ourcontemporary life, a traffic light
that guides the interests ofpeople, who come from various
backgrounds, yet deal with
“NOT MY LIFE”

each other in respect?I am aMuslim, and my religion
teaches me that tolerance isnot something that we should
be waiting accidentally tohappen, but something that weshould make an effort in orderto achieve. But so does teach
other religions. This issomething that I have learnedduring the interfaith dialoguetrip that was organized by theAnatolia Culture and DialogueCenter in collaboration with the
HKU Center for Buddhiststudies for its alumni in the
summer of 2012. This article isabout how I learned about this
tolerance and why it is sorelevant for the humanity today.
