looKing oUTLubavitch Mosdos are achieving remarkablefeats in הפצת המעיינות חוצה, producing essays,articles, publications and programs that arebringing Chassidus to the world outside.
But to achieve this mass-market appeal, Mosdos such as Chabad.org, JEM and JLI areforced to package the מעיינות in the language ofthe חוצה.
In the end, thousands of people within andoutside of Lubavitch feel locked out: they crave“authentic Rebbe”—the שיחות ,מאמרים and אגרות קודש in their original format and depth—and do not know how to study these sources.

looKing in>Many university students arefascinated by the Rebbe—the mostfamous Jewish Rabbi in the world.They want to consult his scholarlyopinion and study his “shiurim”.
> Lubavitcher students, from the770 Bochur to the post-seminarygirl, want to learn the “likuttim”but know it will take hours becausethey were never taught how.
> Hundreds have unfortunately“fallen out of the system” but lovethe Rebbe and often have an“isarusa deleila” that they cannotbring to fruition.
> Lubavitcher businessmen andShluchimwho want to live withthe Rebbe, often do not have thetime it will take them to thoroughlyexplore a Sicha.
> Jewish communities andindividuals would like to learn theRebbe’s Torah on a weekly basisbut don’t have a mentor to studywith.
>Daf Yomi learners may learn acertain topic and be interested inwhat the Lubavitcher Rebbe saysabout it, or in the Rebbe’s Hadran(completion) of that tractate.

The common
bArrierSMany Jewish students, laymen and even academics interested in the Rebbe’srevolutionary approach to Torah cannot access it. Common barriers include:
Time. A single Parsha mayhave more than 20 editedSichos devoted to it, inaddition to hundreds of un-edited sichos, thousands ofletters and dozens ofma’amorim that can bringlight to the same topic.
Scope. An average Sicha canreference dozens of MaamoreiChazal, Gemoros, SodosHakabbala and Piskei Din thatrequire thorough scholarshipto find, study and apply to thecontext.
Language. The Rebbe’steachings are primarily in ararely spoken Yiddish and inLashon Hakodesh. Evensomeone familiar with theselanguages may find it difficultto punctuate and pace.
Context. The Rebbeaddresses myriad topics indifferent ways at differenttimes. Without studying therelevant affairs surroundingan address, it can be difficultto draw a definitive lesson fora current challenge.
History. The Rebbe’steachings often begin withdeclarations such as“Kimedubar Kama pe’amim”(as has been discussed before),hinting at extensive volumesof the Rebbe’s talks anddemanding careful researchon the part of the student.
Index/Mafteach.Manypeople want to know what theRebbe says on a certain topicbut there is no encyclopediaor index available thatprovides a way to search.

Sichosonline.org is a project to filmlectures on vast portions of LikkuteiSichos, Igros Kodesh and selectedMaamorim, providing the tools for personalaccess to the Rebbe’s unique analysis ofTorah and Avodas Hashem.
In the process, SichosOnline.org willproduce an indexed treasury of practicalguidance based on the Rebbe’s teachingson hundreds of topics—including thehistory and Minhogim of Chabad—researchable on demand.

> A weekly Sicha/shiur that delivers the Rebbe’smessage methodically, with sources, backgroundsand related references. The sources and the speakerare displayed side-by-side on the screen.
> A “comment” feature on each lecture page, whichallows listeners to ask question and get answers asthe shiur progresses, often on-the-spot.
> A seasonal “Tizkoret” reference of Halachos,Minhogei Chabad and reminders before each YomTov, written with the whole family in mind, in a veryclear and concise format. Thousands of familiesworldwide are benefitting from this project.

AboUT The direcTorSichosOnline.org is a project ofRabbi Levi Yitzchok Garelik ’שי, aninternationally-acclaimed orator,rabbi and author, known inLubavitch circles as an excellentteacher of the Rebbe’s Sichos.
Born and raised in Milan, Italy where his parents weresent by the Rebbe over 50 years ago, Rabbi Garelikstudied in Italy and the United States. He receivedindividual Semicha and Dayanus from Rabbi Piekarskyat the Central Lubavitch Yeshiva in New York.
Rabbi Garelik has served as spiritual guide of theLubavitch community in Boston; as RabbinicCoordinator of OK Kosher; and currently as spiritualleader of the European Synagogue at the EU in Brussels.He lectures extensively in the US, Israel, Europe andSouth America. He is fluent in English, Yiddish, Hebrewand Italian.
He also authored his two-volume “Madrich” (guide),one on the Jewish life-cycle an one on the laws ofAveilus (mourning); has edited the “Kitzur DineiTahara” (Kehot Publication) and several other works.
AboUT TheProjecTwhile sitting in a routine meeting one day in 2007,
rabbi garelik suddenly slumped over in his seat. A
colleague recognized the signs of a stroke. hatzalah
rushed rabbi garelik to the hospital where doctors
went to work trying to save his life.
Though unable to communicate, rabbi garelik was
completely conscious through the trauma and chaos.
his thoughts turned to every chossid’s source of
courage. in his mind, he spoke to the rebbe and
pleaded for strength. he promised the rebbe that if,
with g-d’s help, he walked out of this hospital, he
would double his dedication to the rebbe’s work by
spreading Torah and chassidus.
Through the miracles of g-d, rabbi garelik did survive.
he walked out of that hospital healthy and ready to
fulfill his promise. now, four years later,
Sichosonline.org is one of the fruits of that experience.
