Why not ask a salesperson from the newspaper stand instead? It's just common sense. You all know most money gets stolen from people at ATMs at night, so you had better not use them after dark.

I think there are also things the local councils ought to do, as plenty of shopping areas have no place to put bikes with someone there to watch them. The councils should provide such places. And why don't local councils of seaside towns provide public beaches with lockers? If I were our local council, I would do something about theft of posters from bus shelters as well. At the end of an advertising campaign there are often many of such posters left. They could make it possible for people who want them to pick them up for free somewhere.

At school we were talking about Scotland last week and from my English teacher I got this leaflet about Edinburgh. I read it and I really liked it. I find cities and other cultures very interesting and I'd like to visit Edinburgh one day.

How about visiting Edinburgh during the Christmas holidays? Would that be nice, you think? We might visit the Castle, the Camera Obscura and go shopping, of course.

Unfortunately we (my friend and I) only have two days so could you help me decide where to go and what to do? By the way, could you explain what the Camera Obscura exactly is? I find these sort of things fascinating.

I'm not interested in musicals and shows, really. I think they're a bit boring. But I'm interested in culture and history, so I consider visiting the Edinburgh Dungeon. Is a creepy thing? (My friend is a bit scared of creepy things, you know).Then I have a last question about transport. We might take the train from Newcastle to Edinburgh. Could you tell me how long that trip is?
